1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them that none of them shall defile himself for the dead among his people,	1 Disse também o Senhor a Moisés: Fala aos sacerdotes, filhos de Aarão, e dize-lhes: Não se contamine o sacerdote na morte dos seus concidadãos,
2 except for his nearest of kin, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother,	2 excepto na dos seus consanguineos e parentes próximos, isto é, na do pai, mãe, filho e filha, e também na do irmão
3 or his virgin sister (who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may defile himself).	3 e da irmã virgem, que não se casou.
4 He shall not defile himself as a husband among his people and so profane himself.	4 Nem mesmo se contaminará na morte do príncipe do seu povo.
5 They shall not make tonsures upon their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.	5 Os sacerdotes não raparão a cabeça nem a barba, nem farão incisões nas suas carnes.
6 They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings by fire to the LORD, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.	6 Serão santos para o seu Deus, e não profanarão o seu nome, porquanto oferecem o holocausto do Senhor e os pães do seu Deus; por isso serão santos.
7 They shall not marry a harlot or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God.	7 Não tomarão por mulher uma desonrada ou uma prostituta, nem a que foi repudiada por seu marido, porque estão consagrados ao seu Deus,
8 You shall consecrate him, for he offers the bread of your God; he shall be holy to you; for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy.	8 e oferecem os pães da proposição. Sejam, pois, santos porque também eu, o Senhor, que os santifico, sou santo.
9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.	9 Se a filha de um sacerdote for apanhada em prostituição, desonrando assim o nome de seu pai, será queimada no fogo.
10 "The priest who is chief among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, nor rend his clothes;	10 O pontífice, isto é, o sumo sacerdote entre seus irmãos, sobre cuja cabeça foi derramado o óleo da unção, e cujas mãos foram consagradas para o sacerdócio, e que foi revestido das santas vestes, não descobrirá a sua cabeça, não rasgará as suas vestes,
11 he shall not go in to any dead body, nor defile himself, even for his father or for his mother;	11 nem entrará absolutamente onde esteja um morto, nem se contaminará na morte de seu pai ou de sua mãe.
12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.	12 Não sairá dos lugares santos, para não manchar o santuário do Senhor, porque o óleo da sagrada unção do seu Deus está sobre ele. Eu sou o Senhor.
13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.	13 Tomará por mulher uma virgem;
14 A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a harlot, these he shall not marry; but he shall take to wife a virgin of his own people,	14 não tomará uma viúva, nem uma repudiada, nem uma desonrada, nem uma meretriz, mas uma donzela do seu povo.
15 that he may not profane his children among his people; for I am the LORD who sanctify him."	15 Não misture o sangue da sua linhagem com o vulgo do seu povo, porque eu sou o Senhor que o santifico,
16 And the LORD said to Moses,	16 O Senhor falou a Moisés dizendo:
17 "Say to Aaron, None of your descendants throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the bread of his God.	17 Dize a Aarão: Nenhum homem de qualquer das famílias da tua linhagem, que tiver deformidade (corporal), oferecerá pães ao seu Deus,
18 For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long,	18 ou se aproximará do seu ministério: se for cego, se coxo, se tiver nariz pequeno, ou grande, ou torcido,
19 or a man who has an injured foot or an injured hand,	19 Se tiver um pé quebrado ou mão,
20 or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a defect in his sight or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles;	20 se for corcovado, se remeloso, se tiver belide na vista, se sarna pertinaz, se tiver herpes pelo corpo, ou uma hérnia,
21 no man of the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the LORD's offerings by fire; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.	21 Todo o homem da estirpe do sacerdote Aarão, que tiver qualquer deformidade (corporal), não se aproximará a oferecer hóstias ao Senhor, nem pães ao seu Deus;
22 He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy things,	22 comerá, todavia, dos pães que se oferecem no santuário,
23 but he shall not come near the veil or approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries; for I am the LORD who sanctify them."	23 contanto, porém, que não entre do véu para dentro, nem chegue ao altar, porque tem defeito, e não deve contaminar o meu santuário. Eu sou o Senhor que os santifico.
24 So Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the people of Israel.	24 Moisés, pois, disse a Aarão, e a seus filhos, e a todo o Israel, todas as coisas que lhe foram mandadas.
