Leviticus 11

1 And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,	1 Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè e ad Aronne, dicendo:
2 "Say to the people of Israel, These are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.	2 « Dite ai figli d'Israele: Questi sono gli animali che voi potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie della terra.
3 Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.	3 Dei quadrupedi mangerete tutti quelli che hanno l'unghia fessa e ruminano.
4 Nevertheless among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.	4 Però quelli che ruminano e hanno l'unghia, ma non fessa, come il cammello e gli altri, non li mangerete e li conterete fra gli animali immondi.
5 And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.	5 Così il coregrillo, che rumina ma non ha l'unghia fessa, è immondo.
6 And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.	6 Parimente la lepre, che rumina, sì, ma non ha l'unghia fessa.
7 And the swine, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.	7 Anche il porco, il quale ha l'unghia fessa, ma non rumina.
8 Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.	8 Non mangerete le carni di questi animali e non toccherete i loro corpi morti, perchè per voi sono immondi.
9 "These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat.	9 Ecco gli animali acquatici dei quali è lecito mangiare: tutti quelli che hanno pinne e scaglie, sia nel mare che nei fiumi e negli stagni, li mangerete;
10 But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is an abomination to you.	10 ma, tra gli animali che si muovono e vivono nelle acque, tutto ciò che non ha pinne e scaglie sarà abominevole per voi.
11 They shall remain an abomination to you; of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall have in abomination.	11 Li avrete in esecrazione, non mangerete le loro carni, eviterete i loro corpi morti:
12 Everything in the waters that has not fins and scales is an abomination to you.	12 tutti gli animali acquatici che non hanno pinne e scaglie saranno impuri.
13 "And these you shall have in abomination among the birds, they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,	13 Tra gli uccelli ecco quelli che non dovete mangiare e devono essere evitati: l'aquila, il grifone, l'aquila marina,
14 the kite, the falcon according to its kind,	14 il nibbio, l'avoltoio secondo la sua specie;
15 every raven according to its kind,	15 ogni specie di corvo e simili,
16 the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk according to its kind,	16 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, lo sparviere secondo la sua specie,
17 the owl, the cormorant, the ibis,	17 il gufo, lo smergo, l'ibi,
18 the water hen, the pelican, the carrion vulture,	18 il cigno, l'onocrotalo, il porfirione,
19 the stork, the heron according to its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.	19 la cicogna, il carardio secondo la sua specie, l'upupa e il pipistrello.
20 "All winged insects that go upon all fours are an abomination to you.	20 Tra i volatili ogni animale che poggia su quattro piedi sarà abominevole per voi.
21 Yet among the winged insects that go on all fours you may eat those which have legs above their feet, with which to leap on the earth.	21 Però ogni animale che cammina bensì a quattro piedi, ma ha le gambe posteriori, colle quali salta sopra la terra, più lunghe,
22 Of them you may eat: the locust according to its kind, the bald locust according to its kind, the cricket according to its kind, and the grasshopper according to its kind.	22 lo potete mangiare: tal è il bruco nella sua specie, l'attaco, l'ofiomaco e la cavalletta, ciascuno nella sua specie.
23 But all other winged insects which have four feet are an abomination to you.	23 Ma tra i volatili tutti quelli che han soltanto quattro piedi, saran per voi in esecrazione:
24 "And by these you shall become unclean; whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,	24 chiunque toccherà i loro corpi morti resterà contaminato, e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
25 and whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.	25 Se poi sarà necessario che egli porti uno di tali animali morto, laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino al tramonto del sole.
26 Every animal which parts the hoof but is not cloven-footed or does not chew the cud is unclean to you; every one who touches them shall be unclean.	26 Ogni animale che ha l'unghia, ma non l'ha fessa, e non rumina, sarà immondo, e chi lo toccherà sarà contaminato.
27 And all that go on their paws, among the animals that go on all fours, are unclean to you; whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,	27 Fra tutti gli animali che camminano a quattro piedi saranno immondi quelli che camminano sopra le loro mani: chi toccherà i loro corpi morti sarà impuro fino alla sera.
28 and he who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.	28 E chi avrà portato simili cadaveri laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera, perchè tutti questi sono immondi per voi.
29 "And these are unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm upon the earth: the weasel, the mouse, the great lizard according to its kind,	29 Tra gli animali che si muovono sopra la terra saranno annoverati fra gli immondi anche questi: la mustela, il topo, il coccodrillo, ciascuno secondo la sua specie;
30 the gecko, the land crocodile, the lizard, the sand lizard, and the chameleon.	30 il migaie, il camaleonte, lo stellione, la lucertola, la talpa.
31 These are unclean to you among all that swarm; whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening.	31 Tutti questi animali sono immondi: chi ne toccherà i corpi morti sarà immondo fino alla sera;
32 And anything upon which any of them falls when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it is an article of wood or a garment or a skin or a sack, any vessel that is used for any purpose; it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it shall be clean.	32 qualunque oggetto sul quale cada qualche cosa dei loro corpi morti resterà contaminato, vaso di legno, o veste, o pelle, o tessuto di peli che sia, per qualunque scopo è usato, si laverà nell'acqua e sarà immondo fino alla sera, ma dopo resterà purificato.
33 And if any of them falls into any earthen vessel, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.	33 Invece il vaso di terra dentro il quale sia caduta una di tali cose resterà contaminato e deve quindi spezzarsi.
34 Any food in it which may be eaten, upon which water may come, shall be unclean; and all drink which may be drunk from every such vessel shall be unclean.	34 Ogni cibo che mangiate, se vi sarà versata sopra dell'acqua, sarà immondo; ogni liquido che si beve in qualsiasi di questi vasi sarà immondo.
35 And everything upon which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven or stove, it shall be broken in pieces; they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.	35 Qualunque cosa di tali bestie morte cada sopra un vaso, questo sarà immondo. Se si tratti di fornelli e di marmitte, saranno immondi e dovranno spezzarsi;
36 Nevertheless a spring or a cistern holding water shall be clean; but whatever touches their carcass shall be unclean.	36 ma le fontane, le cisterne e tutti i serbatoi d'acqua saranno mondi. Chi toccherà il corpo morto di questi animali sarà immondo.
37 And if any part of their carcass falls upon any seed for sowing that is to be sown, it is clean;	37 Se ne cade sopra la semente, non la renderà immonda;
38 but if water is put on the seed and any part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.	38 ma se uno versa dell'acqua sopra la semente, e questa poi vien toccata da uno di questi corpi morti, sarà subito contaminata.
39 "And if any animal of which you may eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening,	39 Se uno degli animali, che vi è permesso mangiare, muore da sè, chi ne toccherà il cadavere sarà immondo fino alla sera;
40 and he who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; he also who carries the carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.	40 e chi ne avrà mangiato o ne avrà portato qualche parte laverà le sue vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
41 "Every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.	41 Tutto ciò che striscia sulla terra sarà abominevole e non sarà usato come nutrimento.
42 Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, all the swarming things that swarm upon the earth, you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.	42 Di qualunque rettile, o che abbia quattro piedi o molti, o strisci sopra la terra, non ve ne ciberete, perchè è abominevole.
43 You shall not make yourselves abominable with any swarming thing that swarms; and you shall not defile yourselves with them, lest you become unclean.	43 Non vogliate contaminare le vostre anime, non toccate alcuna di queste cose, per non diventare immondi.
44 For I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any swarming thing that crawls upon the earth.	44 Siccome io sono il Signore Dio vostro, siate santi, perchè io sono santo; e non contaminate le anime vostre con nessun rettile che striscia sopra la terra.
45 For I am the LORD who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy."	45 Io sono il Signore che vi ho tratti dalla terra d'Egitto per essere il vostro Dio; e voi sarete santi, perchè io sono santo.
46 This is the law pertaining to beast and bird and every living creature that moves through the waters and every creature that swarms upon the earth,	46 Questa è la legge intorno alle bestie e ai volatili e a tutti gli animali viventi che guizzano nell'acqua o striscian sopra la terra,
47 to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean and between the living creature that may be eaten and the living creature that may not be eaten.	47 afinchè sappiate discernere il mondo dall'immondo, e conosciate quel che dovete mangiare o rifiutare ».
