Leviticus 11

1 And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,	1 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, ed Aronne, e disse:
2 "Say to the people of Israel, These are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.	2 Dite a' figliuoli d'Israele: Tra tutti gli animali della terra questi son quelli che voi mangerete:
3 Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.	3 De' quadrupedi mangerete tutti quelli che hanno lo zoccolo fesso, e ruminano:
4 Nevertheless among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.	4 Di tutti quelli che ruminano, e han lo zoccolo, ma non fesso, come il cammello, e gli altri, voi non ne mangerete, e li conterete tra gl’immondi.
5 And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.	5 Il porcospino, il quale rumina, ma non ha lo zoccolo fesso, è immondo:
6 And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.	6 Parimente la lepre, perché ella pure rumina; ma non ha fesso lo zoccolo:
7 And the swine, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.	7 E il porco, il quale ha fesso lo zoccolo, ma non rumina.
8 Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.	8 Delle carni di questi animali non vi ciberete, e non toccherete i loro corpi morti; perocché sono immondi per voi.
9 "These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat.	9 Ecco gli animali acquatici, de' quali è lecito mangiare: tutti quelli che hanno le ali, e le squame tanto nel mare come ne' fiumi, e negli stagni, voi li mangerete:
10 But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is an abomination to you.	10 Ma tutto quel che si muove, e ha vita nell'acque, e non ha ali, né squame, lo avrete in abominazione, ed esecrazione.
11 They shall remain an abomination to you; of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall have in abomination.	11 Non vi ciberete di essi, e schiverete di toccarli morti.
12 Everything in the waters that has not fins and scales is an abomination to you.	12 Saranno impuri tutti gli acquatici, che non hanno ale, o squame.
13 "And these you shall have in abomination among the birds, they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,	13 Degli uccelli non dovete mangiare, ma lasciar da parte i seguenti: l’aquila, il grifone, e l'aquila di mare,
14 the kite, the falcon according to its kind,	14 E il falcone, e l’avoltoio colle sue specie,
15 every raven according to its kind,	15 E il corvo, e tutte le specie simili al corvo,
16 the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk according to its kind,	16 Lo struzzolo, e la civetta, il laro e l'avoltoio con tutte le sue specie,
17 the owl, the cormorant, the ibis,	17 Il gufo, il mergo, e l’ibi,
18 the water hen, the pelican, the carrion vulture,	18 E il cigno, e l’onocrotalo, e il porfirione,
19 the stork, the heron according to its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.	19 La cicogna, e il caradrio colle sue specie, l'upupa, e il pipistrello.
20 "All winged insects that go upon all fours are an abomination to you.	20 Tutti gli animali che volano e camminano a quattro gambe, gli avrete in abbominazione:
21 Yet among the winged insects that go on all fours you may eat those which have legs above their feet, with which to leap on the earth.	21 Ma tutti quelli che camminano a quattro piedi, ma hanno gli stinchi di dietro più lunghi, co’ quali saltano sopra la terra,
22 Of them you may eat: the locust according to its kind, the bald locust according to its kind, the cricket according to its kind, and the grasshopper according to its kind.	22 Li potete mangiare: e tale è il bruco colle sue specie, l'attaco, e l’ophiomaco, e la cavalletta, ognuno colle sue specie.
23 But all other winged insects which have four feet are an abomination to you.	23 Ma tutti i volatili, che hanno quattro piedi, gli avrete in esecrazione:
24 "And by these you shall become unclean; whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,	24 E chiunque li toccherà morti, contrarrà impurità, e sarà immondo fino alla sera:
25 and whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.	25 E se sarà necessario, ch’ei porti alcuno di tali animali morto, laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino al tramontar del sole.
26 Every animal which parts the hoof but is not cloven-footed or does not chew the cud is unclean to you; every one who touches them shall be unclean.	26 Qualunque animale, che ha lo zoccolo, ma non lo ha fesso, e non rumina, sarà immondo, e chi lo toccherà contrarrà immondezza.
27 And all that go on their paws, among the animals that go on all fours, are unclean to you; whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,	27 Tra gli animali quadrupedi quelli che hanno mani, sulle quali camminano, saranno immondi: chi toccherà i corpi loro morti, sarà impuro fino alla sera.
28 and he who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.	28 E chi porterà simili cadaveri, laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera; perché tutti questi (animali) sono immondi per voi.
29 "And these are unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm upon the earth: the weasel, the mouse, the great lizard according to its kind,	29 Degli animali, che si muovono sopra la terra, questi ancora si conteranno tra gl’immondi: lo scoiattolo, e il topo, e il coccodrillo, ciascuno secondo la sua specie,
30 the gecko, the land crocodile, the lizard, the sand lizard, and the chameleon.	30 Il migale, il camaleonte, lo stellione, la lucertola, la talpa:
31 These are unclean to you among all that swarm; whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening.	31 Tutti questi sono immondi: chi li toccherà morti, sarà immondo fino alla sera:
32 And anything upon which any of them falls when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it is an article of wood or a garment or a skin or a sack, any vessel that is used for any purpose; it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it shall be clean.	32 E se da’ loro corpi morti alcuna cosa venga a cadere sopra qualsivoglia altra, questa sarà immonda, sia ella o un vaso di legno, o una veste, o una pelle, o un panno di Cilicia, e ogni arnese, che serve a far qualche cosa, tuttociò si laverà nell’acqua, e sarà immondo fino alla sera, e così sarà di poi purificato.
33 And if any of them falls into any earthen vessel, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.	33 Ma il vaso di terra, dentro del quale sia caduta alcuna di tali cose, contrae immondezza, e perciò dee spezzarsi.
34 Any food in it which may be eaten, upon which water may come, shall be unclean; and all drink which may be drunk from every such vessel shall be unclean.	34 Qualunque cibo, di cui voi vi nudrite, se viene a versarvisi sopra dell'acqua, sarà immondo: e ogni liquore, che può beversi, se viene da qualsisia vaso (immondo) sarà immondo.
35 And everything upon which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven or stove, it shall be broken in pieces; they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.	35 E se di tali bestie morte alcuna cosa viene a cadere sopra un vaso, questo sarà immondo: sieno forni, sieno pignatte co' piedi, contrarranno immondezza, e si distruggeranno.
36 Nevertheless a spring or a cistern holding water shall be clean; but whatever touches their carcass shall be unclean.	36 Le fontane, le cisterne, e tutti i serbatoi d'acque non contrarranno immondezza. Chi toccherà un corpo morto in esse acque sarà immondo.
37 And if any part of their carcass falls upon any seed for sowing that is to be sown, it is clean;	37 Se cade sopra il grano da seminare, non lo farà immondo.
38 but if water is put on the seed and any part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.	38 Ma ove uno abbia bagnato nell’acqua il seme, se questo poi sarà toccato da un corpo d'animale morto, immediatamente sarà impuro.
39 "And if any animal of which you may eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening,	39 Se morrà da sé un animale di quelli che è permesso a voi di mangiare, chi lo toccherà, sarà immondo fino alla sera:
40 and he who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; he also who carries the carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.	40 E chi n'avrà mangiato, o n'avrà portata qualche parte, laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
41 "Every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.	41 Tutto quello che si strascina sopra la terra, sarà abbominevole, e non sarà usato per nudrimento.
42 Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, all the swarming things that swarm upon the earth, you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.	42 Voi non mangerete d’alcun di quegli animali, che avendo quattro piedi, cammina sul suo petto, o ha molti piedi, o si strascina per terra, perocché sono cose abbominevoli.
43 You shall not make yourselves abominable with any swarming thing that swarms; and you shall not defile yourselves with them, lest you become unclean.	43 Non vogliate contaminare le anime vostre, e non toccate alcuna di queste cose per non diventar immondi.
44 For I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any swarming thing that crawls upon the earth.	44 Perocché io sono il Signore Dio vostro: siate santi, perché santo son io: non contaminate le anime vostre per ragion di alcuno de' rettili, che si muovono sulla terra.
45 For I am the LORD who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy."	45 Perocché io sono il Signore, che vi ho tratti dalla terra d'Egitto per essere vostro Dio. Voi sarete santi, perocché io son santo.
46 This is the law pertaining to beast and bird and every living creature that moves through the waters and every creature that swarms upon the earth,	46 Questa è la legge riguardante le bestie, e i volatili, e tutti gli animali viventi, che guizzano nell'acqua, o strisciano sulla terra,
47 to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean and between the living creature that may be eaten and the living creature that may not be eaten.	47 Affinché conosciate la differenza tra il mondo, e l'immondo, e sappiate quel che abbiate a mangiare, o rifiutare.
