Isaiah 66

1 Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house which you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?	1 Así habla el Señor: El cielo es mi trono y la tierra, el estrado de mis pies. ¿Qué casa podrán edificarme ustedes y dónde estará el lugar de mi reposo?
2 All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the LORD. But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.	2 Todo esto lo hizo mi mano y todo me pertenece –oráculo del Señor–. Aquel hacia quien vuelvo la mirada es el pobre, de espíritu acongojado, que se estremece ante mis palabras.
3 "He who slaughters an ox is like him who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like him who breaks a dog's neck; he who presents a cereal offering, like him who offers swine's blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like him who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations;	3 Se inmola un buey, y se mata a un hombre, se sacrifica un cordero, y se desnuca un perro, se presenta una oblación, y se ofrece sangre de cerdo, se quema un memorial de incienso, y se bendice una iniquidad. Porque ellos han elegido sus propios caminos y se complacen en sus ídolos,
4 I also will choose affliction for them, and bring their fears upon them; because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke they did not listen; but they did what was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight."	4 también yo elegiré sus desgracias y les enviaré lo que más temen. Yo llamé, y nadie respondió, hablé, y ellos no escucharon, sino que hicieron lo que me desagrada y eligieron lo que yo no quiero.
5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: "Your brethren who hate you and cast you out for my name's sake have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy'; but it is they who shall be put to shame.	5 ¡Escuchen la palabra del Señor, ustedes que se estremecen ante su palabra! Dicen sus hermanos, los que tienen odio contra ustedes y los rechazan a causa de mi Nombre: «Que el Señor manifieste su gloria, así veremos la alegría de ustedes». Pero son ellos los que se avergonzarán.
6 "Hark, an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the LORD, rendering recompense to his enemies!	6 Una voz retumba desde la ciudad, una voz sale del Templo: es la voz del Señor que retribuye a sus enemigos.
7 "Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her she was delivered of a son.	7 Antes de las contracciones, ella dio a luz; antes de que le llegaran los dolores, dio a luz un hijo varón.
8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her sons.	8 ¿Quién oyó jamás algo semejante, quién ha visto una cosa igual? ¿Se da a luz un país en un solo día? ¿Se hace nacer una nación de una sola vez? Pero Sión, apenas sintió los dolores, ha dado a luz a sus hijos.
9 Shall I bring to the birth and not cause to bring forth? says the LORD; shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb? says your God.	9 ¿Acaso yo abriré la matriz y no haré dar a luz?, dice el Señor ¿Acaso la voy a cerrar, yo que hago nacer?, dice tu Dios.
10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice with her in joy, all you who mourn over her;	10 ¡Alégrense con Jerusalén y regocíjense a causa de ella, todos los que la aman! ¡Compartan su mismo gozo los que estaban de duelo por ella,
11 that you may suck and be satisfied with her consoling breasts; that you may drink deeply with delight from the abundance of her glory."	11 para ser amamantados y saciarse en sus pechos consoladores, para gustar las delicias de sus senos gloriosos!
12 For thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will extend prosperity to her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall suck, you shall be carried upon her hip, and dandled upon her knees.	12 Porque así habla el Señor: Yo haré correr hacia ella la prosperidad como un río, y la riqueza de las naciones como un torrente que se desborda. Sus niños de pecho serán llevados en brazos y acariciados sobre las rodillas.
13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.	13 Como un hombre es consolado por su madre, así yo los consolaré a ustedes, y ustedes serán consolados en Jerusalén.
14 You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like the grass; and it shall be known that the hand of the LORD is with his servants, and his indignation is against his enemies.	14 Al ver esto, se llenarán de gozo, y sus huesos florecerán como la hierba. La mano del Señor se manifestará a sus servidores, y a sus enemigos, su indignación.
15 "For behold, the LORD will come in fire, and his chariots like the stormwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.	15 Porque ya viene el Señor en medio del fuego –sus carros son como un torbellino– para descargar su ira con furor y sus amenazas con las llamas del fuego.
16 For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and by his sword, upon all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many.	16 Porque el Señor entra en juicio con todos los vivientes por el fuego y por su espada, y serán numerosas las víctimas del Señor.
17 "Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating swine's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, says the LORD.	17 Los que santifican y se purifican para entrar en los jardines, detrás de uno que va en el medio; los que comen carne de cerdo, animales inmundos y ratas, serán aniquilados todos juntos –oráculo del Señor– con sus obras y sus pensamientos.
18 "For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory,	18 Entonces, yo mismo vendré a reunir a todas las naciones y a todas las lenguas, y ellas vendrán y verán mi gloria.
19 and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.	19 Yo les daré una señal, y a algunos de sus sobrevivientes los enviaré a las naciones: a Tarsis, Put, Lud, Mésec, Ros, Tubal y Javán, a las costas lejanas que no han oído hablar de mí ni han visto mi gloria. Y ellos anunciarán mi gloria a las naciones.
20 And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD.	20 Ellos traerán a todos los hermanos de ustedes, como una ofrenda al Señor, hasta mi Montaña santa de Jerusalén. Los traerán en caballos, carros y literas, a lomo de mulas o en dromedarios –dice el Señor– como los israelitas llevan la ofrenda a la Casa del Señor en un recipiente puro.
21 And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the LORD.	21 Y también de entre ellos tomaré sacerdotes y levitas, dice el Señor.
22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me, says the LORD; so shall your descendants and your name remain.	22 Porque así como permanecen delante de mí el cielo nuevo y la tierra nueva que yo haré –oráculo del Señor–, así permanecerán la raza y el nombre de ustedes.
23 From new moon to new moon, and from sabbath to sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, says the LORD.	23 De luna nueva en luna nueva y de sábado en sábado, todos vendrán a postrarse delante de mí, dice el Señor.
24 "And they shall go forth and look on the dead bodies of the men that have rebelled against me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh."	24 Y al salir, se verán los despojos de los hombres que se han rebelado contra mi, porque su gusano no morirá, su fuego no se extinguirá y serán algo horrible para todos los vivientes.
