Isaiah 66

1 Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house which you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?	1 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: “Le ciel est mon trône et la terre est l’escabeau de mes pieds. Quelle maison, quel lieu de repos pourriez-vous me construire -
2 All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the LORD. But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.	2 parole de Yahvé - si tout est l’œuvre de mes mains, si tout cela est à moi? Mais savez-vous à qui je m’intéresse? Au pauvre dont l’esprit est humble et qui tremble à ma parole.
3 "He who slaughters an ox is like him who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like him who breaks a dog's neck; he who presents a cereal offering, like him who offers swine's blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like him who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations;	3 Or voici qu’on immole un bœuf mais on tue un homme, on sacrifie un agneau, mais on brise la nuque à un chien, on présente une offrande, mais c’est du sang de porc, on offre de l’encens et on bénit une idole. Puisqu’ils ont choisi le chemin qui leur plaît et qu’ils prennent leur plaisir dans leurs Ordures,
4 I also will choose affliction for them, and bring their fears upon them; because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke they did not listen; but they did what was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight."	4 à mon tour je prendrai plaisir à causer leur malheur et je ferai venir sur eux ce qui les fait trembler. Car j’ai appelé et nul n’a répondu, j’ai parlé et on n’a pas écouté; ils ont fait ce qui ne me plaît pas, ils ont choisi ce que je n’accepte pas.
5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: "Your brethren who hate you and cast you out for my name's sake have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy'; but it is they who shall be put to shame.	5 Écoutez cette parole de Yahvé, vous qui tremblez à sa parole! Vos frères qui vous détestent et qui vous rejettent à cause de mon Nom ont dit ceci: “Que Yahvé montre sa force, nous aimerions voir votre joie!” Eh bien ce sont eux qui vont connaître la honte.
6 "Hark, an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the LORD, rendering recompense to his enemies!	6 Un bruit, une rumeur remplit la ville, une voix monte du Temple! C’est la voix de Yahvé qui rend la pareille à ses ennemis.
7 "Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her she was delivered of a son.	7 Avant d’être en travail elle a enfanté, avant de connaître les douleurs, elle a mis au monde un garçon.
8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her sons.	8 Qui a jamais entendu, qui a jamais vu chose semblable? Est-ce qu’un pays peut naître en un seul jour, est-ce qu’une nation est enfantée d’un seul coup? Or, à peine en travail, Sion a mis au monde ses fils.
9 Shall I bring to the birth and not cause to bring forth? says the LORD; shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb? says your God.	9 Pouvais-je ouvrir le sein maternel et que l’enfant ne vienne pas? dit Yahvé. Car c’est moi qui ouvre le sein et c’est moi qui le ferme, dit ton Dieu.
10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice with her in joy, all you who mourn over her;	10 Réjouissez-vous avec Jérusalem, soyez dans la joie à cause d’elle, vous tous qui l’aimez; que vos cris de joie se mêlent aux siens, vous tous qui pleuriez sur elle!
11 that you may suck and be satisfied with her consoling breasts; that you may drink deeply with delight from the abundance of her glory."	11 Car vous serez allaités, vous serez rassasiés par ses seins qui réconfortent, vous sucerez, vous goûterez les débordements de sa gloire.
12 For thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will extend prosperity to her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall suck, you shall be carried upon her hip, and dandled upon her knees.	12 Car voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je fais que la paix, comme un fleuve se dirige vers elle, et que la richesse des nations, comme un torrent déborde sur elle. Vous serez allaités, portés sur la hanche et caressés sur les genoux.
13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.	13 Je vous consolerai comme celui que sa mère console, dans Jérusalem vous serez consolés.
14 You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like the grass; and it shall be known that the hand of the LORD is with his servants, and his indignation is against his enemies.	14 Vous le verrez, votre cœur sera dans la joie, et vos os retrouveront comme l’herbe leur fraîcheur. La main de Yahvé se montrera à ses serviteurs; à ses ennemis il fera voir sa colère.
15 "For behold, the LORD will come in fire, and his chariots like the stormwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.	15 Car voici que Yahvé vient dans le feu, monté sur les chars de l’ouragan. Il déverse sa colère ardente, ses menaces sont des charbons de feu.
16 For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and by his sword, upon all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many.	16 Yahvé fait justice par le feu et par l’épée; tous sont jugés, et nombreuses sont les victimes de Yahvé:
17 "Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating swine's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, says the LORD.	17 ceux qui vont se sanctifier et se purifier dans les jardins sacrés, derrière quelqu’un qui se met au centre, ceux qui mangent de la chair de porc, des mets impurs ou des souris. Leurs actes et leurs stratagèmes cesseront à la fois - parole de Yahvé.
18 "For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory,	18 Voici que je rassemble les païens de toutes les nations et de toutes les langues, et quand ils seront venus, ils seront témoins de ma gloire.
19 and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.	19 Je ferai un prodige au milieu d’eux, et j’enverrai leurs survivants vers les nations: vers Tarsis, Pout, Loud, Méchek, Toubal et Yavan, vers les îles les plus lointaines qui n’ont pas encore entendu parler de moi et qui n’ont pas vu ma Gloire. Alors ils feront connaître aux nations ma gloire.
20 And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD.	20 Ils ramèneront tous vos frères de toutes les nations, sur des chevaux et des chars, sur des brancards, des mulets et des chameaux. Voici ce que dit Yahvé: On les mènera à ma Montagne Sainte, à Jérusalem, tout comme les Israélites apportent leurs offrandes dans des vases purs à la Maison de Yahvé.
21 And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the LORD.	21 Yahvé dit encore: Je prendrai certains d’entre eux pour en faire des prêtres et des lévites.
22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me, says the LORD; so shall your descendants and your name remain.	22 De même que les cieux nouveaux et la terre nouvelle que je vais créer, doivent rester là toujours devant moi - parole de Yahvé, ainsi votre race et votre nom dureront toujours.
23 From new moon to new moon, and from sabbath to sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, says the LORD.	23 De nouvelle lune en nouvelle lune, de sabbat en sabbat, toute chair viendra se prosterner devant moi, dit Yahvé.
24 "And they shall go forth and look on the dead bodies of the men that have rebelled against me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh."	24 Et quand ils repartiront, ils verront les cadavres des hommes qui se sont révoltés contre moi. Car le ver ne finira pas de les ronger et leur bûcher ne s’éteindra pas: tous au passage seront horrifiés.
