Isaiah 6

1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple.	1 El año de la muerte del rey Ozías, vi al Señor sentado sobre un trono alto y excelso: la orla de su manto llenaba el templo.
2 Above him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.	2 Junto a él estaban los serafines, cada uno con seis alas: con dos alas se cubrían el rostro, con dos el cuerpo, con dos volaban,
3 And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory."	3 y se gritaban uno a otro diciendo: «¡Santo, santo, santo es el Señor del universo, llena está la tierra de su gloria!».
4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.	4 Temblaban las jambas y los umbrales al clamor de su voz, y el templo estaba lleno de humo.
5 And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!"	5 Yo dije: «¡Ay de mí, estoy perdido! Yo, hombre de labios impuros, que habito en medio de gente de labios impuros, he visto con mis ojos al Rey, Señor del universo».
6 Then flew one of the seraphim to me, having in his hand a burning coal which he had taken with tongs from the altar.	6 Uno de los seres de fuego voló hacia mí con un ascua en la mano, que había tomado del altar con unas tenazas;
7 And he touched my mouth, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin forgiven."	7 la aplicó a mi boca y me dijo: «Al tocar esto tus labios, ha desaparecido tu culpa, está perdonado tu pecado».
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."	8 Entonces escuché la voz del Señor, que decía: «¿A quién enviaré? ¿Y quién irá por nosotros?». Contesté: «Aquí estoy, mándame».
9 And he said, "Go, and say to this people: 'Hear and hear, but do not understand; see and see, but do not perceive.'	9 Él me dijo: «Ve y di a esta gente: “Por más que escuchéis no entenderéis, por más que miréis, no comprenderéis”.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed."	10 Embota el corazón de esta gente, endurece su oído, ciega sus ojos: que sus ojos no vean, que sus oídos no oigan, que su corazón no entienda, que no se convierta y sane».
11 Then I said, "How long, O Lord?" And he said: "Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without men, and the land is utterly desolate,	11 Pregunté: «¿Hasta cuándo, Señor?». Me respondió: «Hasta que las ciudades queden devastadas y despobladas, las casas sin gente, los campos yermos.
12 and the LORD removes men far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.	12 Porque el Señor alejará a los hombres, y crecerá el abandono en el país.
13 And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains standing when it is felled." The holy seed is its stump.	13 Y si aún quedara una décima parte, también sería exterminada. Como una encina o un roble que, al talarlos, solo dejan un tocón. Ese tocón será semilla santa».
