Psalms 82

1 A Psalm of Asaph. God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:	1 Salmo. Di Asaf. Dio presiede l’accolta divina, sentenzia in mezzo ai divini.
2 "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? [Selah]	2 «Fino a quando farete giudizi iniqui e sarete parziali con i peccatori?
3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.	3 Giudicate il meschino e l’orfano, all’umile e al bisognoso fate giustizia.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."	4 Liberate il meschino e il povero, strappatelo dalle unghie dei peccatori».
5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.	5 Non sanno e non intendono, nelle tenebre vanno brancicando, sono scosse tutte le fondamenta della terra.
6 I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;	6 Io pensavo: «Divini voi siete e figli dell’Altissimo voi tutti».
7 nevertheless, you shall die like men, and fall like any prince."	7 Morirete invece come un uomo qualunque e come uno dei comuni principi cadrete.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for to thee belong all the nations!	8 Sorgi, o Dio, giudica la terra perché tu sarai erede tra tutte le genti. Dio perseguita i nemici d’Israele.
