Psalms 81

1 To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob!	1 'Al maestro del coro. Su "I torchi...". Di Asaf.'
2 Raise a song, sound the timbrel, the sweet lyre with the harp.	2 Esultate in Dio, nostra forza, acclamate al Dio di Giacobbe.
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.	3 Intonate il canto e suonate il timpano, la cetra melodiosa con l'arpa.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.	4 Suonate la tromba nel plenilunio, nostro giorno di festa.
5 He made it a decree in Joseph, when he went out over the land of Egypt. I hear a voice I had not known:	5 Questa è una legge per Israele, un decreto del Dio di Giacobbe.
6 "I relieved your shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.	6 Lo ha dato come testimonianza a Giuseppe, quando usciva dal paese d'Egitto. Un linguaggio mai inteso io sento:
7 In distress you called, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. [Selah]	7 "Ho liberato dal peso la sua spalla, le sue mani hanno deposto la cesta.
8 Hear, O my people, while I admonish you! O Israel, if you would but listen to me!	8 Hai gridato a me nell'angoscia e io ti ho liberato, avvolto nella nube ti ho dato risposta, ti ho messo alla prova alle acque di Meriba.
9 There shall be no strange god among you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god.	9 Ascolta, popolo mio, ti voglio ammonire; Israele, se tu mi ascoltassi!
10 I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.	10 Non ci sia in mezzo a te un altro dio e non prostrarti a un dio straniero.
11 "But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would have none of me.	11 Sono io il Signore tuo Dio, che ti ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto; apri la tua bocca, la voglio riempire.
12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.	12 Ma il mio popolo non ha ascoltato la mia voce, Israele non mi ha obbedito.
13 O that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!	13 L'ho abbandonato alla durezza del suo cuore, che seguisse il proprio consiglio.
14 I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their foes.	14 Se il mio popolo mi ascoltasse, se Israele camminasse per le mie vie!
15 Those who hate the LORD would cringe toward him, and their fate would last for ever.	15 Subito piegherei i suoi nemici e contro i suoi avversari porterei la mia mano.
16 I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."	16 I nemici del Signore gli sarebbero sottomessi e la loro sorte sarebbe segnata per sempre;
	17 li nutrirei con fiore di frumento, li sazierei con miele di roccia".
