Psalms 63

1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God, I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee; my flesh faints for thee, as in a dry and weary land where no water is.	1 Dávid zsoltára, amikor Júda sivatagjában tartózkodott.
2 So I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary, beholding thy power and glory.	2 Isten, én Istenem, pirkadatkor már előtted virrasztok. Téged szomjaz a lelkem, utánad sóvárog a testem, puszta, úttalan, víztelen vidéken.
3 Because thy steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise thee.	3 Bárcsak megjelenhetnék előtted a szent helyen, és láthatnám hatalmadat és dicsőségedet!
4 So I will bless thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on thy name.	4 Hisz irgalmad jobb, mint az élet, ajkam téged dicsér.
5 My soul is feasted as with marrow and fat, and my mouth praises thee with joyful lips,	5 Áldani akarlak, amíg csak élek, és nevedben emelem fel kezemet.
6 when I think of thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the watches of the night;	6 Szinte zsírral és kövérséggel telik el a lelkem, ujjong az ajkam és dicsér a szám.
7 for thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings I sing for joy.	7 Ha reggelenként rólad elmélkedem, rád gondolok fekvőhelyemen.
8 My soul clings to thee; thy right hand upholds me.	8 Hisz te megsegítettél engem, és szárnyad árnyékában örvendezhetem.
9 But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth;	9 Lelkem tehozzád tapad, és jobbod erősen tart engem.
10 they shall be given over to the power of the sword, they shall be prey for jackals.	10 Akik pedig meg akarják rontani életemet, lesüllyednek a föld mélységeibe,
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall glory; for the mouths of liars will be stopped.	11 kard hatalmába kerülnek, sakálok osztályrésze lesznek.
	12 Örvendezik akkor majd a király Istenben; Akik rá esküsznek, diadalmaskodnak valamennyien, mert elnémul a szája azoknak, akik gonoszat beszélnek.
