1 To the choirmaster. A Maskil of David, when Doeg, the Edomite, came and told Saul, "David has come to the house of Ahimelech." Why do you boast, O mighty man, of mischief done against the godly? All the day	1 Au maître de chant. Méditation. De David.
2 you are plotting destruction. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery.	2 Lorsque Doëg, l’Édomite, était venu dire à Saül: “David est entré chez Ahimélek”.
3 You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking the truth. [Selah]	3 Pourquoi es-tu si fier de tes méfaits, toi qui te sens fort de ton injustice et tout le jour
4 You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.	4 t’occupes à des crimes? Tu ne fais que tromper, ta langue est un rasoir tranchant.
5 But God will break you down for ever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. [Selah]	5 Tu aimes le mal plus que le bien et tu mens, tu ne dis pas la vérité.
6 The righteous shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying,	6 Tu aimes lancer tout ce qui fera mal, langue trompeuse.
7 "See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and sought refuge in his wealth!"	7 Mais Dieu veut en finir avec toi, il va te saisir, t’arracher de ta tente, te déraciner de la terre des vivants.
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God for ever and ever.	8 Les justes le verront et ils craindront Dieu. Ils diront en se moquant de lui:
9 I will thank thee for ever, because thou hast done it. I will proclaim thy name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.	9 “Voilà bien l’homme! Il n’a pas fait de Dieu son refuge, mais il comptait sur ses richesses et se faisait fort de ses crimes.”
	10 Mais moi je veux être olivier plein de sève dans la maison de Dieu, pour toujours, je mets ma confiance dans la grâce de Dieu.
	11 Je te bénirai pour ce que tu as fait, ton Nom sera toujours mon espérance car il est bienfaisant envers tes fidèles.
