Psalms 27

1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?	1 Psaume de David, avant qu'il fût oint. Le Seigneur est ma lumière et mon salut; * qui craindrai-je? Le Seigneur est le défenser de ma vie; * devant qui tremblerai-je?
2 When evildoers assail me, uttering slanders against me, my adversaries and foes, they shall stumble and fall.	2 Lorsque les méchants s'approchent de moi * pour dévorer ma chair, ces ennemis qui me persécutent * ont été eux-mêmes affaiblis et sont tombés.
3 Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.	3 Qu'une armée campe contre moi, * mon coeur ne craindra pas. Que le combat s'engage contre moi, * c'est alors même que j'espérerai.
4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.	4 Il est une chose que j'ai demandée au Seigneur, et je la rechercherai uniquement; * c'est d'habiter dans la maison du Seigneur tous les jours de ma vie, pour contempler les délices du Seigneur * et visiter Son temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock.	5 Car Il m'a caché dans Son tabernacle; * au jour de l'affliction Il m'a protégé dans le secret de Son tabernacle.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.	6 Il m'a élevé sur la pierre, * et maintenant Il a élevé ma tête au-dessus de mes ennemis. J'ai entouré l'autel et j'ai immolé dans Son tabernacle une victime avec des cris de joie; * je chanterai et je dirai une hymne au Seigneur.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me!	7 Exaucez, Seigneur, ma voix, qui a crié vers Vous; * ayez pitié de moi, et exaucez-moi.
8 Thou hast said, "Seek ye my face." My heart says to thee, "Thy face, LORD, do I seek."	8 Mon coeur Vous a dit: Mes yeux Vous ont cherché; * Votre visage, Seigneur, je le chercherai.
9 Hide not thy face from me. Turn not thy servant away in anger, thou who hast been my help. Cast me not off, forsake me not, O God of my salvation!	9 Ne détournez pas de moi Votre face; * ne Vous retirez pas de Votre serviteur, dans Votre colère. Soyez mon aide; * ne m'abandonnez pas, et ne me méprisez pas, ô Dieu mon Sauveur.
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up.	10 Car mon père et ma mère m'ont abandonné; * mais le Seigneur m'a recueilli.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.	11 Seigneur, enseignez-moi Votre voie, * et conduisez-moi dans le droit sentier à cause de mes ennemis.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.	12 Ne me livrez pas à la merci de ceux qui me persécutent; * des témoins iniques se sont élevés contre moi, et l'iniquité a menti contre elle-même.
13 I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!	13 Je crois que je verrai les biens du Seigneur * dans la terre des vivants.
14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the LORD!	14 Attends le Seigneur, agis avec courage; * que ton coeur soit ferme, et espère au Seigneur.
