Psalms 2

1 Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain?	1 Per che cagione le genti con furore d' animo irate gridarono, e li popoli perchè pensarono le cose vane?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and his anointed, saying,	2 I re delle terre si fermorono, e li prìncipi si raunarono insieme contro al Signore e contro al suo Cristo.
3 "Let us burst their bonds asunder, and cast their cords from us."	3 Dirompiamo i loro legami, e gittiamo da noi il giogo loro.
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision.	4 Quello il quale abita nel cielo sì li schernirà; e il nostro Signore sì ghignerà di loro.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying,	5 Allora parlerà a loro nella sua ira, e nel suo furore conturberà loro.
6 "I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill."	6 E io sono stabilito re da lui sopra Sion monte santo suo, predicando il suo comandamento.
7 I will tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my son, today I have begotten you.	7 Il Signore disse a me: tu sei il mio figliuolo, io oggi t'ho generato.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.	8 Addomanda a me, e io ti darò genti per la tua eredità, e li termini della terra in possessione tua.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel."	9 Tu reggerai loro in verga ferrea; sì come vaso di terra, fatto per mano del figolaio, spezzerai loro.
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.	10 E, voi re, ora intendete; fatevi ammaestrare, voi che giudicate la terra.
11 Serve the LORD with fear, with trembling	11 E servite al nostro Signore in timore; e rallegratevi a lui con tremore.
12 kiss his feet, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.	12 Apprendete la disciplina, chè per avventura Iddio non s'adiri, e periate della via giusta.
	13 Quando uscirà fuori in breve tempo l'ira sua, beati tutti coloro che si confidano in lui.
