Psalms 138

1 A Psalm of David. I give thee thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing thy praise;	1 De David. Je te rends grâce, Yahvé, de tout mon coeur, tu as entendu les paroles de ma bouche. Jete chante en présence des anges,
2 I bow down toward thy holy temple and give thanks to thy name for thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness; for thou hast exalted above everything thy name and thy word.	2 je me prosterne vers ton temple sacré. Je rends grâce à ton nom pour ton amour et ta vérité; tapromesse a même surpassé ton renom.
3 On the day I called, thou didst answer me, my strength of soul thou didst increase.	3 Le jour où j'ai crié, tu m'exauças, tu as accru la force en mon âme.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, for they have heard the words of thy mouth;	4 Tous les rois de la terre te rendent grâce, Yahvé, car ils entendent les promesses de ta bouche;
5 and they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD.	5 ils célèbrent les voies de Yahvé: "Grande est la gloire de Yahvé!
6 For though the LORD is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he knows from afar.	6 Sublime, Yahvé! et il voit les humbles et de loin connaît les superbes."
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou dost preserve my life; thou dost stretch out thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand delivers me.	7 Si je marche au milieu des angoisses, tu me fais vivre, à la fureur de mes ennemis; tu étends lamain et ta droite me sauve.
8 The LORD will fulfil his purpose for me; thy steadfast love, O LORD, endures for ever. Do not forsake the work of thy hands.	8 Yahvé aura tout fait pour moi; Yahvé, éternel est ton amour, ne délaisse pas l'oeuvre de tes mains.
