1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. How long, O LORD? Wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?	1 For the leader. A psalm of David.
2 How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?	2 How long, LORD? Will you utterly forget me? How long will you hide your face from me?
3 Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;	3 How long must I carry sorrow in my soul, grief in my heart day after day? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
4 lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed over him"; lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.	4 Look upon me, answer me, LORD, my God! Give light to my eyes lest I sleep in death,
5 But I have trusted in thy steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.	5 Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed," lest my foes rejoice at my downfall.
6 I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.	6 I trust in your faithfulness. Grant my heart joy in your help, That I may sing of the LORD, "How good our God has been to me!"
