1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say--	1 Canción de las subidas. De David. |Si el Señor no hubiera estado de nuestra parte | —que lo diga Israel—,
2 if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us,	2 si el Señor no hubiera estado de nuestra parte, | cuando nos asaltaban los hombres,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us;	3 nos habrían tragado vivos: | tanto ardía su ira contra nosotros.
4 then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us;	4 Nos habrían arrollado las aguas, | llegándonos el torrente hasta el cuello;
5 then over us would have gone the raging waters.	5 nos habrían llegado hasta el cuello | las aguas impetuosas.
6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth!	6 Bendito el Señor, | que no nos entregó | en presa a sus dientes;
7 We have escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped!	7 hemos salvado la vida, como un pájaro | de la trampa del cazador: | la trampa se rompió, | y escapamos.
8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.	8 Nuestro auxilio es el nombre del Señor, | que hizo el cielo y la tierra.
