1 "Why are not times of judgment kept by the Almighty, and why do those who know him never see his days?	1 Dall' Onnipotente non sono nascosi li tempi; ma coloro che conoscono lui, non sanno li suoi giorni.
2 Men remove landmarks; they seize flocks and pasture them.	2 Gli altri trapassarono li termini, e dirubarono le gregge, e spaventarono loro.
3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless; they take the widow's ox for a pledge.	3 Lo asino delli pupilli fecero fuggire, e portarono per pegno lo bue della vedova.
4 They thrust the poor off the road; the poor of the earth all hide themselves.	4 Rivolsono la via delli poveri, e premettero parimente gli mansueti della terra.
5 Behold, like wild asses in the desert they go forth to their toil, seeking prey in the wilderness as food for their children.	5 Li altri, come asini nel deserto, vanno al loro lavorìo; e vigilanti alla preda apparecchiano lo pane alli figliuoli.
6 They gather their fodder in the field and they glean the vineyard of the wicked man.	6 Lo campo [non] loro mietono; e la vigna di colui, che hanno per forza costretto, vendemmiano.
7 They lie all night naked, without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.	7 Ignudi lasciano li uomini, togliendo loro le vestimenta, a' quali non è coprimento nel freddo,
8 They are wet with the rain of the mountains, and cling to the rock for want of shelter.	8 i quali l'acque de' monti bagnano; e non avendo velamenti, s' abbracciano alle pietre.
9 (There are those who snatch the fatherless child from the breast, and take in pledge the infant of the poor.)	9 Forza fecero, pigliando li pupilli, e lo popolo povero spogliarono.
10 They go about naked, without clothing; hungry, they carry the sheaves;	10 [Agli] ignudi e andanti senza vestimento e agli affamati tolsero le spighe.
11 among the olive rows of the wicked they make oil; they tread the wine presses, but suffer thirst.	11 Intra li monticelli loro si riposarono nel mezzo dì, i quali premuti li canali hanno sete.
12 From out of the city the dying groan, and the soul of the wounded cries for help; yet God pays no attention to their prayer.	12 Delle cittadi fecero piagnere li uomini; e l'anima delli feriti chiamò, e Iddio non li lascia partire senza vendetta.
13 "There are those who rebel against the light, who are not acquainted with its ways, and do not stay in its paths.	13 Quelli furono ribelli dello lume; non seppono le sue vie, e non sono ritornati per le vie sue.
14 The murderer rises in the dark, that he may kill the poor and needy; and in the night he is as a thief.	14 La prima mattina si leverae l'omicida, e ucciderae lo bisognoso e lo povero; e di notte sarae quasi come ladro.
15 The eye of the adulterer also waits for the twilight, saying, 'No eye will see me'; and he disguises his face.	15 Gli occhii dello adultero osservano la oscuritade, e dice: non mi vederae l'occhio; e coprirae lo volto suo.
16 In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves up; they do not know the light.	16 Cava nelle tenebre le case, sì come nel dì (quando) insieme lo diceano a loro, e non conoscerono la luce.
17 For deep darkness is morning to all of them; for they are friends with the terrors of deep darkness.	17 Se subito apparirà l'aurora, pensano che sia l'ombra della morte; e così nelle tenebre come nella luce vanno.
18 "You say, "They are swiftly carried away upon the face of the waters; their portion is cursed in the land; no treader turns toward their vineyards.	18 Lieve è sopra la faccia dell' acqua; maledetta sia la parte sua nella terra, e non vada per la via delle vigne.
19 Drought and heat snatch away the snow waters; so does Sheol those who have sinned.	19 Al grande caldo vada dall' acque delle nevi, e insino alli inferni lo peccato suo.
20 The squares of the town forget them; their name is no longer remembered; so wickedness is broken like a tree.'	20 Dimèntichisi di lui la misericordia; la dolcezza sua vermini; non sia in memoria, ma sia attrito come legno che non fa frutto.
21 "They feed on the barren childless woman, and do no good to the widow.	21 In verità spaventò la sterile (e quella) che non partorisce, e alla vedova non fece bene.
22 Yet God prolongs the life of the mighty by his power; they rise up when they despair of life.	22 Detrasse li forti nella sua fortezza; e quando starae, (non troverae e) non crederae alla vita sua.
23 He gives them security, and they are supported; and his eyes are upon their ways.	23 Diede Iddio a lui lo luogo della penitenza, e lui usò quello nella superbia; e gli occhii suoi sono nelle vie di colui.
24 They are exalted a little while, and then are gone; they wither and fade like the mallow; they are cut off like the heads of grain.	24 Levati sono al poco, e non staranno fermi; elli saranno umiliati, sì come ogni cosa, e saranno tolti, e saranno contriti sì come (per) le sommità delle spighe.
25 If it is not so, who will prove me a liar, and show that there is nothing in what I say?"	25 La qual cosa se non è così, chi puote riprendere me, ch' ella sia bugia, e ponere innanzi a Dio le mie parole?
