Tobit 11

1 After this Tobias went on his way, praising God because he had made his journey a success. And he blessed Raguel and his wife Edna. So he continued on his way until they came near to Nineveh.	1 Quando furono nei pressi di Kaserin, di fronte a Ninive, disse Raffaele:
2 Then Raphael said to Tobias, "Are you not aware, brother, of how you left your father?	2 "Tu sai in quale condizione abbiamo lasciato tuo padre.
3 Let us run ahead of your wife and prepare the house.	3 Corriamo avanti, prima di tua moglie, e prepariamo la casa, mentre gli altri vengono".
4 And take the gall of the fish with you." So they went their way, and the dog went along behind them.	4 Allora s'incamminarono tutti e due insieme. Poi Raffaele gli disse: "Prendi in mano il fiele". Il cane li seguiva.
5 Now Anna sat looking intently down the road for her son.	5 Anna intanto sedeva a scrutare la strada per la quale era partito il figlio.
6 And she caught sight of him coming, and said to his father, "Behold, your son is coming, and so is the man who went with him!"	6 Le parve di vederlo venire e disse al padre di lui: "Ecco viene tuo figlio con l'uomo che l'accompagnava".
7 Raphael said, "I know, Tobias, that your father will open his eyes.	7 Raffaele disse a Tobia prima di avvicinarsi al padre: "Io so che i suoi occhi si apriranno.
8 You therefore must anoint his eyes with the gall; and when they smart he will rub them, and will cause the white films to fall away, and he will see you."	8 Spalma il fiele del pesce sui suoi occhi; il farmaco intaccherà e asporterà come scaglie le macchie bianche dai suoi occhi. Così tuo padre riavrà la vista e vedrà la luce".
9 Then Anna ran to meet them, and embraced her son, and said to him, "I have seen you, my child; now I am ready to die." And they both wept.	9 Anna corse avanti e si gettò al collo del figlio dicendogli: "Ti rivedo, o figlio. Ora posso morire!". E pianse.
10 Tobit started toward the door, and stumbled. But his son ran to him	10 Tobi si alzò e, incespicando, uscì dalla porta del cortile.
11 and took hold of his father, and he sprinkled the gall upon his father's eyes, saying, "Be of good cheer, father."	11 Tobia gli andò incontro, tenendo in mano il fiele del pesce. Soffiò sui suoi occhi e lo trasse vicino, dicendo: "Coraggio, padre!". Spalmò il farmaco che operò come un morso,
12 And when his eyes began to smart he rubbed them,	12 poi distaccò con le mani le scaglie bianche dai margini degli occhi.
13 and the white films scaled off from the corners of his eyes.	13 Tobi gli si buttò al collo e pianse, dicendo: "Ti vedo, figlio, luce dei miei occhi!".
14 Then he saw his son and embraced him, and he wept and said, "Blessed art thou, O God, and blessed is thy name for ever, and blessed are all thy holy angels.	14 E aggiunse: "Benedetto Dio! Benedetto il suo grande nome! Benedetti tutti i suoi angeli santi! Benedetto il suo grande nome su di noi e benedetti i suoi angeli per tutti i secoli. Perché egli mi ha colpito ma poi ha avuto pietà ed ecco, ora io contemplo mio figlio Tobia".
15 For thou hast afflicted me, but thou hast had mercy upon me; here I see my son Tobias!" And his son went in rejoicing, and he reported to his father the great things that had happened to him in Media.	15 Tobia entrò in casa lieto, benedicendo Dio con quanta voce aveva. Poi Tobia informò suo padre del viaggio che aveva compiuto felicemente, del denaro che aveva riportato, di Sara figlia di Raguele, che aveva presa in moglie e che stava venendo e che si trovava ormai vicina, alla porta di Ninive.
16 Then Tobit went out to meet his daughter-in-law at the gate of Nineveh, rejoicing and praising God. Those who saw him as he went were amazed because he could see.	16 Allora Tobi uscì verso la porta di Ninive incontro alla sposa di lui, lieto e benedicendo Dio. Quando la gente di Ninive lo vide passare e camminare con tutto il vigore di un tempo, senza che alcuno lo conducesse per mano, fu presa da meraviglia; Tobi proclamava davanti a loro che Dio aveva avuto pietà di lui e che gli aveva aperto gli occhi.
17 And Tobit gave thanks before them that God had been merciful to him. When Tobit came near to Sarah his daughter-in-law, he blessed her, saying, "Welcome, daughter! Blessed is God who has brought you to us, and blessed are your father and your mother." So there was rejoicing among all his brethren in Nineveh.	17 Tobi si avvicinò poi a Sara, la sposa di suo figlio Tobia, e la benedisse: "Sii la benvenuta, figlia! Benedetto sia il tuo Dio, perché ti ha condotta da noi, figlia! Benedetto sia tuo padre, benedetto mio figlio Tobia e benedetta tu, o figlia! Entra nella casa che è tua in buona salute e benedizione e gioia; entra, o figlia!".
18 Ahikar and his nephew Nadab came,	18 In quel giorno ci fu una grande festa per tutti i Giudei di Ninive
19 and Tobias' marriage was celebrated for seven days with great festivity.	19 e Achikar e Nadab suoi cugini vennero a congratularsi con Tobi.
	20 E si festeggiarono le nozze di Tobia con gioia per sette giorni.
