Ezra 7

1 Now after this, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,	1 Dopo queste cose nel regno di Artaserse re de' Persi, Esdra figliuolo di Saraia, figliuolo di Azaria, figliuolo di Elcia,
2 son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub,	2 figliuolo di Sellum, figliuolo di Sadoc, figliuolo di Achitob,
3 son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth,	3 figliuolo di Amaria, figliuolo di Azaria, figliuolo di Maraiot,
4 son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki,	4 figliuolo di Zaraia, figliuolo di Ozi, figliuolo di Bocci,
5 son of Abishu-a, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the chief priest--	5 figliuolo di Abisue, figliuolo di Finees, figliuolo di Eleazar, figliuolo di Aaron sacerdote dal cominciamento;
6 this Ezra went up from Babylonia. He was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses which the LORD the God of Israel had given; and the king granted him all that he asked, for the hand of the LORD his God was upon him.	6 questo Esdra ascendeo di Babilonia, ed egli è scrivano velocissimo nella legge di Moisè, la quale gli diede il Signore Iddio d' Israel e 'l re gli diede, secondo la mano di Dio sopra di lui, la sua petizione.
7 And there went up also to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king, some of the people of Israel, and some of the priests and Levites, the singers and gatekeepers, and the temple servants.	7 E ascenderono de' figliuoli d' Israel, de' figliuoli de' sacerdoti e de' figliuoli de' Leviti e de' cantori e de' portieri e de' Natinei in Ierusalem, nel settimo anno del re Artaserse.
8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king;	8 E vennero in Ierusalem nel quinto mese; questo è il settimo anno del re.
9 for on the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylonia, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, for the good hand of his God was upon him.	9 Ed egli il primo dì del primo mese cominciò ad ascendere di Babilonia; e il primo dì del quinto mese venne in Ierusalem, secondo la mano buona del suo Iddio sopra sè.
10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel.	10 Ed Esdra apparecchiò il suo cuore a investigare la legge di Dio, acciò che la facesse, e insegnasse in Israel il comandamento e il giudicio.
11 This is a copy of the letter which King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, learned in matters of the commandments of the LORD and his statutes for Israel:	11 E questo è lo esempio della lettera del comandamento, il quale diede il re Artaserse a Esdra sacerdote, scriba ammaestrato ne' sermoni e ne' comandamenti del Signore, e nelle sue cerimonie in Israel.
12 "Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven. And now	12 Artaserse re de' re ad Esdra sacerdote, scriba della legge di Dio del cielo dottissimo, salute.
13 I make a decree that any one of the people of Israel or their priests or Levites in my kingdom, who freely offers to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.	13 Da me è ordinato, che a qualunque del popolo d' Israel nel mio reame piaccia, e de' sacerdoti suoi e Leviti, andare in Ierusalem, vada con esso teco.
14 For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the law of your God, which is in your hand,	14 Però che tu se' mandato dal cospetto del re e de' sette suoi consiglieri, acciò che tu visiti Giudea e Ierusalem nella legge del tuo Iddio, la quale è nelle tue mani,
15 and also to convey the silver and gold which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem,	15 e acciò che tu porti l'ariento e l'oro, il quale il re e' suoi consiglieri hanno volontariamente offerto allo Iddio d' Israel, il tabernacolo del quale è in Ierusalem.
16 with all the silver and gold which you shall find in the whole province of Babylonia, and with the freewill offerings of the people and the priests, vowed willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem.	16 E tutto l'oro e l'ariento, tutto quello che tu troverai, il quale il popolo vorria donare, in tutta la provincia di Babilonia, e de' sacerdoti i quali volontariamente vorranno offrire alla casa del loro Iddio, la quale è in Ierusalem,
17 With this money, then, you shall with all diligence buy bulls, rams, and lambs, with their cereal offerings and their drink offerings, and you shall offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.	17 istudiosamente e liberamente il tolli, e di questa pecunia compera montoni, vitelli, agnelli e sacrificii e' suoi libamenti, e òfferili sopra l'altare del tempio del vostro Iddio, il quale è in Ierusalem.
18 Whatever seems good to you and your brethren to do with the rest of the silver and gold, you may do, according to the will of your God.	18 E ciò che a te e a' tuoi fratelli piacerà di fare dell' oro e dell' ariento che avanzerà, fatelo, acIciò che voi facciate secondo la volontà del vostro Iddio.
19 The vessels that have been given you for the service of the house of your God, you shall deliver before the God of Jerusalem.	19 E le vasa, che ti si daranno per lo ministerio del tempio dello Iddio tuo, dàlle nel cospetto di Dio in Ierusalem.
20 And whatever else is required for the house of your God, which you have occasion to provide, you may provide it out of the king's treasury.	20 E tutte l'altre cose, che faranno bisogno nella casa del Dio tuo, quantunque sarà bisogno di spendere, darai de' tesori e del fisco del re.
21 "And I, Artaxerxes the king, make a decree to all the treasurers in the province Beyond the River: Whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, requires of you, be it done with all diligence,	21 E da me, Artaserse re, è ordinato (e stabilito) e comandato a tutti i guardiani dell' arca pubblica, i quali sono oltre il fiume, che ciò che Esdra sacerdote, e scriba della legge di Dio del cielo, domanderà a voi, senza dimoranza gli dobbiate dare,
22 up to a hundred talents of silver, a hundred cors of wheat, a hundred baths of wine, a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.	22 [insino a] cento talenti d'ariento, e insino a cento barili di vino, e insino a cento cori di grano, e cento barili d' olio, e sale senza misura.
23 Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done in full for the house of the God of heaven, lest his wrath be against the realm of the king and his sons.	23 Tutto quello, che appartiene al coltivamento di Dio del cielo, diligentemente sia dato nella casa di Dio, acciò che forse non s' adiri contro al regno del re e de' suoi figliuoli.
24 We also notify you that it shall not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll upon any one of the priests, the Levites, the singers, the doorkeepers, the temple servants, or other servants of this house of God.	24 E noi vi facciamo manifesto de' sacerdoti e de' Leviti, de' cantori, portieri, Natinei (e maestri) e ministri della casa di questo Iddio, che voi non abbiate podestà d' imporre loro tributo, nè vettovaglia, nè annona.
25 "And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people in the province Beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and those who do not know them, you shall teach.	25 E tu, Esdra, secondo la sapienza del tuo Iddio la quale è nella tua mano, ordina i giudici e i prèsidi, i quali giùdichino tutto il popolo il quale è oltre il fiume, cioè quelli che sanno la legge del tuo Iddio; e quelli che non sono savi, liberamente gli ammaestra.
26 Whoever will not obey the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be strictly executed upon him, whether for death or for banishment or for confiscation of his goods or for imprisonment."	26 E qualunque non farà la legge del tuo Iddio [e la legge del re] diligentemente, sarà fatto di lui giudicio, ovvero per morte, ovvero per isbandimento, ovvero per condannazione della sua sostanza, ovvero per carcere.
27 Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers, who put such a thing as this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem,	27 (E disse Esdra:) benedetto Iddio de' nostri padri, il quale diede questo nel cuore del re, ch' egli glorificasse la casa del Signore la quale è in Ierusalem,
28 and who extended to me his steadfast love before the king and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty officers. I took courage, for the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.	28 e in me inchinò la sua misericordia nel cospetto del re e de' suoi consiglieri e di tutti i potenti principi suoi; e io confortato dalla mano di Dio, la quale era in me, congregai i prìncipi d' Israel i quali erano venuti con esso meco.
