Ezra 7

1 Now after this, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,	1 Dopo queste cose, sotto il regno di Artaserse re dei Persiani, Esdra, figlio di Saraia, figlio di Azaria, figlio di Elcia,
2 son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub,	2 figlio di Sellum, figlio di Sadoc, figlio di Achitob,
3 son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth,	3 figlio di Azaria, figlio di Maraiot,
4 son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki,	4 figlio di Zaraia, figlio di Ozi, figlio di Bocci,
5 son of Abishu-a, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the chief priest--	5 figlio di Abisue, figlio di Finees, figlio di Eleazaro, figlio di Aronne primo sacerdote,
6 this Ezra went up from Babylonia. He was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses which the LORD the God of Israel had given; and the king granted him all that he asked, for the hand of the LORD his God was upon him.	6 Esdra stesso salì da Babilonia. Egli era uno scriba versato nella legge di Mosè data dal Signore Dio ad Israele, e il re gli diede tutto ciò che domandò, perchè la mano del Signore Dio suo era su lui.
7 And there went up also to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king, some of the people of Israel, and some of the priests and Levites, the singers and gatekeepers, and the temple servants.	7 L'anno settimo del re Artaserse salirono a Gerusalemme dei figli d'Israele, dei figli dei sacerdoti, dei figli dei leviti, dei cantori, dei portinai e dei Natinei,
8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king;	8 e arrivaron a Gerusalemme il quinto mese, l'anno settimo del re.
9 for on the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylonia, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, for the good hand of his God was upon him.	9 Avendo egli cominciato il viaggio da Babilonia il primo giorno del primo del mese, il primo giorno del quinto mese arrivò a Gerusalemme, perchè la mano benefica di Dio era su di lui.
10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel.	10 Infatti Esdra aveva disposto il suo cuore a ricercare la legge del Signore, e ad eseguire e insegnare a Israele i precetti e le ordinazioni.
11 This is a copy of the letter which King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, learned in matters of the commandments of the LORD and his statutes for Israel:	11 Ecco la copia della lettera editto che il re Artaserse diede al sacerdote Esdra, scriba versato nelle parole e nei precetti del Signore e nelle cerimonie di lui in Israele:
12 "Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven. And now	12 « Artaserse re dei re al sacerdote Esdra, scriba dottissimo della legge del Dio del cielo, salute.
13 I make a decree that any one of the people of Israel or their priests or Levites in my kingdom, who freely offers to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.	13 E' stato decretato da me che chiunque del popolo d'Israele, dei suoi sacerdoti e dei leviti esistenti nel mio regno vorrà andare a Gerusalemme, vada teco;
14 For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the law of your God, which is in your hand,	14 perchè tu sei mandato dal re e dai suoi sette consiglieri, per visitare la Giudea e Gerusalemme secondo la legge del tuo Dio, la quale è nella tua mano,
15 and also to convey the silver and gold which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem,	15 per portare l'oro e l'argento che il re e i suoi consiglieri hanno spontaneamente offerto al Dio d'Israele, il Tabernacolo del quale è in Gerusalemme.
16 with all the silver and gold which you shall find in the whole province of Babylonia, and with the freewill offerings of the people and the priests, vowed willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem.	16 Tutto l'argento e l'oro che troverai in tutta la provincia di Babilonia, e che il popolo vorrà offrire e i sacerdoti avran dato spontaneamente per la casa del loro Dio, che è in Gerusalemme,
17 With this money, then, you shall with all diligence buy bulls, rams, and lambs, with their cereal offerings and their drink offerings, and you shall offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.	17 prendilo liberamente, e con tal danaro abbi cura di comprar vitelli, montoni, agnelli, sacrifizi colle libazioni, ed offrirli sopra l'altare del tempio del vostro Dio che è in Gerusalemme,
18 Whatever seems good to you and your brethren to do with the rest of the silver and gold, you may do, according to the will of your God.	18 inoltre, se piacerà a te e ai tuoi fratelli di fare qualche altra cosa col resto dell'argento e dell'oro, fatelo secondo la volontà del vostro Dio.
19 The vessels that have been given you for the service of the house of your God, you shall deliver before the God of Jerusalem.	19 I vasi a te consegnati pel servizio della casa del tuo Dio, mettili al cospetto di Dio in Gerusalemme.
20 And whatever else is required for the house of your God, which you have occasion to provide, you may provide it out of the king's treasury.	20 Ma anche per tutte l'altre cose necessarie per la casa del tuo Dio, qualunque somma dovrai spendere, ti sarà data dal tesoro, dal fisco del re
21 "And I, Artaxerxes the king, make a decree to all the treasurers in the province Beyond the River: Whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, requires of you, be it done with all diligence,	21 e da me. Io Artaserse re ho ordinato e intimato a tutti i tesorieri della cassa pubblica che sono di là dal fiume, che tutto quello richiesto dal sacerdote Esdra, scriba della legge del Dio del cielo, glielo diate senza dilazione,
22 up to a hundred talents of silver, a hundred cors of wheat, a hundred baths of wine, a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.	22 sino a cento talenti d'argento, a cento cori di grano, a cento bati di vino, a cento bati d'olio, il sale poi senza misura.
23 Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done in full for the house of the God of heaven, lest his wrath be against the realm of the king and his sons.	23 Tutto quello che appartiene al culto del Dio del cielo sia somministrato puntualmente alla casa di Dio del cielo, affinchè per di sgrazia egli non s'adiri contro il regno del re e dei suoi figli.
24 We also notify you that it shall not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll upon any one of the priests, the Levites, the singers, the doorkeepers, the temple servants, or other servants of this house of God.	24 Vi facciamo inoltre sapere, riguardo a tutti i sacerdoti, i leviti, i cantori, i portinai, i Natinei e i ministri della casa di questo Dio, che non avete potere d'imporre loro nè imposta, nè tributo, nè vettovaglie.
25 "And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people in the province Beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and those who do not know them, you shall teach.	25 E tu, Esdra, secondo la sapienza del tuo Dio, che è a tua disposizione, costituisci dei giudici e dei presidi, affinchè rendan giustizia a tutto il popolo che è di là dal fiume, cioè a quelli che conoscono la legge del tuo Dio. Di più istruite liberamente quelli che non la conoscono.
26 Whoever will not obey the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be strictly executed upon him, whether for death or for banishment or for confiscation of his goods or for imprisonment."	26 E di chiunque non osserverà la legge del tuo Dio, e la legge del re esattamente, sarà fatta giustizia, o colla morte o coll'esilio, o colla confisca dei suoi beni o almeno colla prigione ».
27 Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers, who put such a thing as this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem,	27 Benedetto il Signore Dio dei padri nostri, che mise nel cuore del re di glorificare la casa del Signore che è in Gerusalemme,
28 and who extended to me his steadfast love before the king and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty officers. I took courage, for the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.	28 e ha inclinato la sua misericordia verso di me davanti al re, ai suoi consiglieri, e davanti a tutti i potenti principi del re! Ed io, sostenuto dalla mano del mio Dio ch'era in me, radunai i principi d'Israele, perchè partissero meco.
