1 Now Jehoshaphat had great riches and honor; and he made a marriage alliance with Ahab.	1 Josafat tuvo riquezas y gloria en abundancia. Y como se había emparentado con Ajab,
2 After some years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab killed an abundance of sheep and oxen for him and for the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.	2 al cabo de unos años bajó a visitarlo a Samaría. Ajab sacrificó gran cantidad de ovejas y bueyes para él y para la gente que lo acompañaba, y lo indujo a subir contra Ramot de Galaad.
3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?" He answered him, "I am as you are, my people as your people. We will be with you in the war."	3 Ajab, rey de Israel, dijo a Josafat, rey de Judá: «¿Irías conmigo contra Ramot de Galaad?». Josafat respondió al rey de Israel: «Cuenta conmigo como contigo mismo, con mi gente como con la tuya».
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Inquire first for the word of the LORD."	4 Pero añadió: «Consulta primero la palabra del Señor».
5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I forbear?" And they said, "Go up; for God will give it into the hand of the king."	5 El rey de Israel reunió a los profetas –unos cuatrocientos hombres– y les preguntó: «¿Podemos ir a combatir contra Ramot de Galaad, o debo desistir?». Ellos respondieron: «Sube, y el Señor la entregará en manos del rey».
6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not here another prophet of the LORD of whom we may inquire?"	6 Pero Josafat insistió: «¿No queda por ahí algún profeta del Señor para consultar por medio de él?».
7 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil." And Jehoshaphat said, "Let not the king say so."	7 El rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: «Sí, queda todavía un hombre por cuyo intermedio se podría consultar al Señor. Pero yo lo detesto, porque nunca me vaticina nada bueno, sino sólo desgracias: es Miqueas, hijo de Imlá». «No hable el rey de esa manera», replicó Josafat.
8 Then the king of Israel summoned an officer and said, "Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah."	8 Entonces el rey de Israel llamó a un eunuco y ordenó: «Que venga en seguida Miqueas, hijo de Imlá».
9 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting on their thrones, arrayed in their robes; and they were sitting at the threshing floor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.	9 El rey de Israel y Josafat, rey de Judá, estaban sentados cada uno en su trono, con sus vestiduras reales, sobre la explanada que está a la entrada de la puerta de Samaría, mientras todos los profetas vaticinaban delante de ellos.
10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made for himself horns of iron, and said, "Thus says the LORD, 'With these you shall push the Syrians until they are destroyed.'"	10 Sedecías, hijo de Canaaná, se había hecho unos cuernos de hierro y decía: «Así habla el Señor: Con esto embestirás a Aram hasta acabar con él»
11 And all the prophets prophesied so, and said, "Go up to Ramoth-gilead and triumph; the LORD will give it into the hand of the king."	11 Y todos los profetas vaticinaban en el mismo sentido, diciendo: «¡Sube a Ramot de Galaad y triunfarás! El Señor la entregará en manos del rey».
12 And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, "Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king; let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably."	12 El mensajero que había ido a llamar a Miqueas le dijo: «Mira que las palabras de los profetas anuncian a una sola voz buena fortuna para el rey. Habla tú también como uno de ellos, y anuncia la victoria».
13 But Micaiah said, "As the LORD lives, what my God says, that I will speak."	13 Pero Miqueas replicó: «¡Por la vida del Señor, sólo diré lo que mi Dios me diga!».
14 And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?" And he answered, "Go up and triumph; they will be given into your hand."	14 Cuando se presentó al rey, este le dijo: «Miqueas, ¿podemos ir a combatir contra Ramot de Galaad, o debo desistir?». El le respondió: «Sube y triunfarán; ellos serán entregados en manos de ustedes».
15 But the king said to him, "How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?"	15 Pero el rey le dijo: «¿Cuántas veces tendré que conjurarte a que no me digas más que la verdad en nombre del Señor?».
16 And he said, "I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd; and the LORD said, 'These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.'"	16 Miqueas dijo entonces: «He visto a todo Israel disperso por las montañas, como ovejas sin pastor. El Señor ha dicho: Estos ya no tienen dueño; vuélvase cada uno a su casa den paz».
17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"	17 El rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: «¿No te había dicho que este no me vaticina nada bueno, sino sólo desgracias?».
18 And Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left;	18 Miqueas siguió diciendo: «Por eso, escuchen la palabra del Señor: Yo vi al Señor sentado en su trono, y todo el Ejército de los cielos estaba de pie a su derecha y a su izquierda.
19 and the LORD said, 'Who will entice Ahab the king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?' And one said one thing, and another said another.	19 El Señor preguntó: «¿Quién seducirá a Ajab, para que suba y caiga en Ramot de Galaad?». Ellos respondieron, uno de una manera y otro de otra.
20 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, saying, 'I will entice him.' And the LORD said to him, 'By what means?'	20 Entonces se adelantó el espíritu y, puesto de pie delante del Señor, dijo: «Yo lo seduciré». «¿Cómo?», preguntó el Señor.
21 And he said, 'I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And he said, 'You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go forth and do so.'	21 El respondió: «Iré y seré un espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos sus profetas». Entonces el Señor le dijo: «Tú lograrás seducirlo. Ve y obra así».
22 Now therefore behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; the LORD has spoken evil concerning you."	22 Ahora, el Señor ha puesto un espíritu de mentira en la boca de estos profetas, porque él ha decretado tu ruina».
23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the Spirit of the LORD go from me to speak to you?"	23 Sedecías, hijo de Canaaná, se acercó a Miqueas y le dio una bofetada, diciendo: «¿Por dónde se me escapó el espíritu del Señor para hablarte a ti?».
24 And Micaiah said, "Behold, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide yourself."	24 Miqueas repuso: «Eso lo verás el día en que vayas de una habitación a otra para esconderte».
25 And the king of Israel said, "Seize Micaiah, and take him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king's son;	25 Entonces el rey de Israel ordenó: «Tomen a Miqueas y llévenlo a Amón, el gobernador de la ciudad, y a Joás, el hijo del rey.
26 and say, 'Thus says the king, Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with scant fare of bread and water, until I return in peace.'"	26 Ustedes dirán: Así habla el rey: Encierren a este hombre en la cárcel y ténganlo a pan y agua, hasta que yo regrese victorioso».
27 And Micaiah said, "If you return in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me." And he said, "Hear, all you peoples!"	27 Miqueas replicó: «Si tú regresas victorioso, quiere decir que el Señor no ha hablado por mi boca».
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.	28 El rey de Israel y Josafat, rey de Judá, subieron hacia Ramot de Galaad.
29 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "I will disguise myself and go into battle, but you wear your robes." And the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into battle.	29 Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: «Yo me voy a disfrazar para entrar en batalla, pero tú quédate con tus vestiduras». El rey de Israel se disfrazó, y entraron en combate.
30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, "Fight with neither small nor great, but only with the king of Israel."	30 El rey de Aram, por su parte, había dado esta orden a los comandantes de sus carros de guerra: «No ataquen a nadie, ni pequeño ni grande, sino sólo al rey de Israel».
31 And when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, "It is the king of Israel." So they turned to fight against him; and Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him. God drew them away from him,	31 Cuando los comandantes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: «¡Es el rey de Israel!», y lo rodearon para atacarlo. Josafat lanzó un grito y el señor lo socorrió: Dios los alejó de él.
32 for when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.	32 Los comandantes de los carros, al ver que ese no era el rey de Israel, dejaron de perseguirlo.
33 But a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate; therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, "Turn about, and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded."	33 Pero un hombre disparó su arco al azar e hirió al rey de Israel por entre las junturas de la coraza. El rey dijo al conductor de su carro: «Vuelve atrás y sácame del campo de batalla, porque estoy malherido».
34 And the battle grew hot that day, and the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot facing the Syrians until evening; then at sunset he died.	34 Aquel día, el combate fue muy encarnizado. El rey de Israel se mantuvo de pie sobre su carro frente a los arameos hasta la tarde, y murió a la puesta del sol.
