1 The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.	1 Fils de Juda: Pérès, Hesron, Karmi, Hour, Chobal.
2 Re-aiah the son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites.	2 Réayas, fils de Chobal, est le père de Yahat. Yahat est le père d’Ahoumaï et Lahad. Voilà les clans des Soréatites.
3 These were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi,	3 Abi-Étam, Yizréel, Yichma et Yidbach avaient une sœur Haslelponi.
4 and Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These were the sons of Hur, the first-born of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.	4 Pénuel était le père de Guédor, Ézer, le père de Houcha. Voilà les fils de Hour, le premier-né d’Éfrata, le père de Bethléem.

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain."	9 Yabès était plus honoré que ses frères. Sa mère l’appela Yabès car, dit-elle: “Je l’ai enfanté dans la douleur.”
10 Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that thou wouldst bless me and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldst keep me from harm so that it might not hurt me!" 13 The sons of Kenaz: Othni-el and Seraiah; and the sons of Othni-el: Hathath and Meonothai.	13 Fils de Kénaz: Otniel et Séraya. Fils d’Otniel: Hatat et Méonotaï.
14 Meonothai was the father of Ophrah; and Seraiah was the father of Joab the father of Ge-harashim, so-called because they were craftsmen.	14 Méonotaï engendra Ofra. Séraya engendra Yoab, le père de Gé-Harachim. Ils étaient artisans.
15 The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah: Kenaz.	15 Fils de Caleb, fils de Yéfouné: Ir, Éla et Naam. Fils d’Éla: Kénaz.
16 The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiri-a, and Asarel.	16 Fils de Yéhaléléel: Zif, Zifa, Tirya, Azaréel.
17 The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. These are the sons of Bithi-ah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married; and she conceived and bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.	17 Fils d’Ezra: Yéter, Méred, Éfer, Yalon. 19 The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Ma-acathite.	19 Le père de Keïla le Garmite est Echtémoa: le Maakatite était fils de la sœur de Naam, femme d’Ohodia.
20 The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Ben-zoheth.	20 Fils de Chimon: Amnon, Rinna, Ben-Hanan, Tilon. Fils de Yichéï: Zohet et Ben-Zohet.

30 Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,	30 Bétuel, Horma, Siklag,
31 Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susim, Beth-biri, and Sha-araim. These were their cities until David reigned.	31 Beth-Markabot, Hasar-Sousim, Beth-Biréï, Chaarayim. Voilà leurs villes jusqu’au règne de David.
32 And their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,	32 Voici maintenant leurs cinq villages: Étam, Ayin, Rimmon, Token, Achan,
33 along with all their villages which were round about these cities as far as Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept a genealogical record.	33 avec tous les villages qui les entouraient jusqu’à Baalat. Voilà leur habitat et leur recensement.

38 these mentioned by name were princes in their families, and their fathers' houses increased greatly.	38 ces hommes recensés un par un étaient chefs de leurs clans, leurs familles se développèrent énormément.
39 They journeyed to the entrance of Gedor, to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks,	39 Ils marchèrent vers l’entrée de Guérar jusqu’à l’est du vallon, afin de trouver des pâturages pour leur petit bétail.
40 where they found rich, good pasture, and the land was very broad, quiet, and peaceful; for the former inhabitants there belonged to Ham.	40 Ils trouvèrent là de gras et bons pâturages. Le pays, très étendu dans toutes les directions, était calme et paisible, ceux qui l’habitaient autrefois appartenaient à la descendance de Kam.
41 These, registered by name, came in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and destroyed their tents and the Me-unim who were found there, and exterminated them to this day, and settled in their place, because there was pasture there for their flocks.	41 Tous ces hommes que l’on vient de nommer arrivèrent au temps d’Ézékias, roi de Juda. Ils détruisirent les tentes et les refuges des gens du pays. Ils les vouèrent à l’anathème et ils s’installèrent à leur place, car il y avait là des pâturages pour leur petit bétail.
42 And some of them, five hundred men of the Simeonites, went to Mount Seir, having as their leaders Pelatiah, Ne-ariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi;	42 Certains des fils de Siméon partirent vers la montagne de Séïr: ils étaient au nombre de 500 avec, à leur tête, Pélatya, Néarya, Réfayas, Ouziel, fils de Yichéï.
43 and they destroyed the remnant of the Amalekites that had escaped, and they have dwelt there to this day.	43 Ils battirent ceux qui restaient des Amalécites et s’installèrent là jusqu’à nos jours.
