1 And David the king said to all the assembly, "Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great; for the palace will not be for man but for the LORD God.	1 Hierauf redete der König David die ganze Versammlung folgendermaßen an: »Mein Sohn Salomo, [der einzige,] den Gott erwählt hat, ist noch jung und zart, das Werk aber gewaltig; denn nicht für einen Menschen ist dieser Prachtbau bestimmt, sondern für Gott den HERRN.
2 So I have provided for the house of my God, so far as I was able, the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood, besides great quantities of onyx and stones for setting, antimony, colored stones, all sorts of precious stones, and marble.	2 Daher habe ich mit allen mir zu Gebote stehenden Kräften für das Haus meines Gottes Gold zu den goldenen, Silber zu den silbernen, Kupfer zu den kupfernen, Eisen zu den eisernen und Holz zu den hölzernen Geräten beschafft, außerdem Onyxsteine und Edelsteine zu Einfassungen, Steine zu Verzierungen, buntfarbige und kostbare Steine jeder Art und Marmorgestein in Menge.
3 Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God:	3 Überdies will ich infolge meines Eifers für das Haus meines Gottes das, was ich als eigenes Gut an Gold und Silber besitze, für das Haus meines Gottes hingeben, zu allem dem noch hinzu, was ich bereits für das heilige Haus beschafft habe,
4 three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the house,	4 nämlich 3000 Talente Gold, Ophirgold, und 7000 Talente geläutertes Silber, um die Wände der heiligen Räume damit zu überziehen
5 and for all the work to be done by craftsmen, gold for the things of gold and silver for the things of silver. Who then will offer willingly, consecrating himself today to the LORD?"	5 und für alle sonstigen Arbeiten, zu denen die Künstler Gold und Silber gebrauchen. Wer ist nun bereit, heute gleichfalls für den HERRN eine Gabe von seinem Vermögen beizusteuern?«
6 Then the heads of fathers' houses made their freewill offerings, as did also the leaders of the tribes, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the officers over the king's work.	6 Da bewiesen die Familienhäupter und die Fürsten der Stämme Israels sowie die Befehlshaber der Tausendschaften und der Hundertschaften und die obersten Beamten im Dienst des Königs ihre Bereitwilligkeit
7 They gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and a hundred thousand talents of iron.	7 und spendeten für den Bau des Gotteshauses 5000 Talente Gold und 10000 Goldstücke, 10000 Talente Silber, 18000 Talente Kupfer und 100000 Talente Eisen.
8 And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD, in the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 Wer ferner Edelsteine besaß, gab sie für den Schatz des Hauses des HERRN an den Gersoniten Jehiel ab.
9 Then the people rejoiced because these had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the LORD; David the king also rejoiced greatly.	9 Da freute sich das Volk über ihre Freigebigkeit; denn mit ungeteiltem Herzen hatten sie freiwillig für den HERRN beigesteuert; auch der König David war hoch erfreut.
10 Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly; and David said: "Blessed art thou, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.	10 Da pries David den HERRN vor der ganzen Versammlung mit den Worten: »Gepriesen seist du, HERR, du Gott unsers Vaters Israel, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit!
11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.	11 Dein, o HERR, ist die Hoheit und die Macht, die Herrlichkeit, der Ruhm und die Majestät; denn dein ist alles im Himmel und auf Erden. Dein, o HERR, ist die Herrschaft, und du bist als Haupt über alles erhaben.
12 Both riches and honor come from thee, and thou rulest over all. In thy hand are power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.	12 Reichtum und Ehre kommen von dir, und du bist Herrscher über alles; in deiner Hand liegen Kraft und Stärke, und in deiner Hand steht es, jedermann groß und stark zu machen.
13 And now we thank thee, our God, and praise thy glorious name.	13 Nun denn, unser Gott: wir danken dir und rühmen deinen herrlichen Namen;
14 "But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from thee, and of thy own have we given thee.	14 denn wer bin ich, und was ist mein Volk, daß wir imstande sein sollten, freiwillige Gaben in solcher Weise darzubringen? Nein, von dir kommt dies alles, und aus deiner Hand haben wir dir gespendet.
15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.	15 Wir sind ja nur Gäste und Fremdlinge (3.Mose 25,23) vor dir wie alle unsere Väter; wie ein Schatten sind unsere Lebenstage auf Erden und ohne Hoffnung, (hienieden zu bleiben).
16 O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building thee a house for thy holy name comes from thy hand and is all thy own.	16 HERR, unser Gott, dieser ganze Reichtum, den wir bereitgestellt haben, um dir ein Haus für deinen heiligen Namen zu bauen, – aus deiner Hand kommt er, und dein ist das alles!
17 I know, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness; in the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen thy people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to thee.	17 Ich weiß aber, mein Gott, daß du das Herz prüfst und an Aufrichtigkeit Wohlgefallen hast; – nun, ich habe dies alles mit aufrichtigem Herzen freiwillig gespendet und habe jetzt mit Freuden gesehen, daß auch dein Volk, das hier versammelt ist, dir bereitwillig Gaben dargebracht hat.
18 O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep for ever such purposes and thoughts in the hearts of thy people, and direct their hearts toward thee.	18 HERR, du Gott unserer Väter Abraham, Isaak und Israel, erhalte solche Gesinnung und Denkweise immerdar im Herzen deines Volkes und richte ihr Herz auf dich hin!
19 Grant to Solomon my son that with a whole heart he may keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, performing all, and that he may build the palace for which I have made provision."	19 Meinem Sohne Salomo aber verleihe ein ungeteiltes (oder: aufrichtiges) Herz, daß er deine Gebote, deine Verordnungen und Weisungen beobachte und alles tue, um den Prachtbau aufzuführen, den ich vorbereitet habe!«
20 Then David said to all the assembly, "Bless the LORD your God." And all the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and did obeisance to the king.	20 Als David hierauf die ganze Versammlung aufforderte, den HERRN, ihren Gott, zu preisen, da priesen alle Versammelten den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter, verneigten sich und warfen sich vor dem HERRN und vor dem Könige nieder.
21 And they performed sacrifices to the LORD, and on the next day offered burnt offerings to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;	21 Am folgenden Tage aber opferten sie dem HERRN Schlachtopfer und brachten dem HERRN Brandopfer dar, nämlich tausend Stiere, tausend Widder und tausend Lämmer nebst den zugehörigen Trankspenden, außerdem Schlachtopfer in Menge für ganz Israel.
22 and they ate and drank before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and they anointed him as prince for the LORD, and Zadok as priest.	22 Dann aßen und tranken sie an jenem Tage vor dem HERRN voller Freude und machten Salomo, Davids Sohn, zum zweitenmal zum König und salbten ihn vor dem HERRN zum Fürsten und salbten Zadok zum Priester.
23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father; and he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.	23 So saß denn Salomo auf dem Throne des HERRN als König an Stelle (= als Nachfolger) seines Vaters David und hatte das Glück, daß ganz Israel ihn anerkannte
24 All the leaders and the mighty men, and also all the sons of King David, pledged their allegiance to King Solomon.	24 und alle Fürsten und die Ritter sowie alle Söhne des Königs David sich dem König Salomo unterwarfen.
25 And the LORD gave Solomon great repute in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.	25 Der HERR aber ließ dann Salomo zu überhaus hohem Ansehen bei ganz Israel gelangen und verlieh seinem Königtum einen Glanz, wie ihn vor ihm kein König über Israel besessen hatte.
26 Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.	26 So hatte nun David, der Sohn Isais, über ganz Israel geherrscht,
27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.	27 und zwar betrug die Zeit seiner Regierung über Israel vierzig Jahre; in Hebron hatte er sieben Jahre geherrscht und in Jerusalem dreiunddreißig.
28 Then he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.	28 Er starb in hohem Alter, satt an Lebenstagen wie an Reichtum und Ehren, und sein Sohn Salomo folgte ihm in der Regierung nach.
29 Now the acts of King David, from first to last, are written in the Chronicles of Samuel the seer, and in the Chronicles of Nathan the prophet, and in the Chronicles of Gad the seer,	29 Die Geschichte des Königs David aber findet sich bekanntlich von Anfang bis zu Ende aufgezeichnet in der Geschichte des Sehers Samuel sowie in der Geschichte des Propheten Nathan und in der Geschichte des Sehers Gad,
30 with accounts of all his rule and his might and of the circumstances that came upon him and upon Israel, and upon all the kingdoms of the countries.	30 samt seiner ganzen machtvollen Regierung und seinen Siegen und den Schicksalen, die ihn und Israel und alle Reiche der Länder betroffen haben.
