1 Chronicles 29

1 And David the king said to all the assembly, "Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great; for the palace will not be for man but for the LORD God.	1 Le roi David dit alors à toute l'assemblée: "Mon fils Salomon, celui qu'a choisi Dieu, estjeune et faible alors que l'oeuvre est grande, car ce palais n'est pas destiné à un homme mais à Yahvé Dieu.
2 So I have provided for the house of my God, so far as I was able, the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood, besides great quantities of onyx and stones for setting, antimony, colored stones, all sorts of precious stones, and marble.	2 De toutes mes forces, j'ai préparé la Maison de mon Dieu: l'or pour ce qui doit être en or,l'argent pour ce qui doit être en argent, le bronze pour ce qui doit être en bronze, le fer pour ce qui doit être enfer, le bois pour ce qui doit être en bois, des cornalines, des pierreries à enchâsser, des escarboucles et des pierresmulticolores, toutes sortes de pierres précieuses et quantité d'albâtre.
3 Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God:	3 Plus encore, ce que je possède personnellement en or et en argent, je le donne à la Maison demon Dieu, par amour pour la Maison de mon Dieu en plus de ce que j'ai préparé pour le Temple saint:
4 three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the house,	4 3.000 talents d'or, en or d'Ophir, 7.000 talents d'argent épuré pour en plaquer les parois dessalles.
5 and for all the work to be done by craftsmen, gold for the things of gold and silver for the things of silver. Who then will offer willingly, consecrating himself today to the LORD?"	5 Qu'il s'agisse d'or pour ce qui doit être en or, d'argent pour ce qui doit être en argent, oud'oeuvre de main d'orfèvre, qui d'entre vous aujourd'hui est volontaire pour le consacrer à Yahvé?"
6 Then the heads of fathers' houses made their freewill offerings, as did also the leaders of the tribes, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the officers over the king's work.	6 Les officiers chefs de familles, les officiers des tribus d'Israël, les officiers de milliers et decentaines et les officiers chargés des travaux royaux furent volontaires.
7 They gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and a hundred thousand talents of iron.	7 Ils donnèrent pour le service de la Maison de Dieu 5.000 talents d'or, 10.000 dariques, 10.000talents d'argent, 18.000 talents de bronze et 100.000 talents de fer.
8 And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD, in the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 Y ajoutant ce qui se trouva comme pierres, ils remirent tout cela au trésor de la Maison deYahvé, à la disposition de Yehiel le Gershonite.
9 Then the people rejoiced because these had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the LORD; David the king also rejoiced greatly.	9 Le peuple se réjouit de ce qu'ils avaient fait, car c'était d'un coeur sans partage qu'ils avaientainsi fait des offrandes volontaires pour Yahvé; le roi David lui-même en conçut une grande joie.
10 Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly; and David said: "Blessed art thou, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.	10 Il bénit alors Yahvé sous les yeux de toute l'assemblée. David dit: "Béni sois-tu, Yahvé,Dieu d'Israël notre père, depuis toujours et à jamais!
11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.	11 A toi, Yahvé, la grandeur, la force, la splendeur, la durée et la gloire, car tout ce qui est auciel et sur la terre est à toi. A toi, Yahvé, la royauté: tu es souverainement élevé au-dessus de tout.
12 Both riches and honor come from thee, and thou rulest over all. In thy hand are power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.	12 La richesse et la gloire te précèdent, tu es maître de tout, dans ta main sont la force et lapuissance; à ta main d'élever et d'affermir qui que ce soit.
13 And now we thank thee, our God, and praise thy glorious name.	13 A cette heure, ô notre Dieu, nous te célébrons, nous louons ton éclatant renom;
14 "But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from thee, and of thy own have we given thee.	14 car qui suis-je et qu'est-ce que mon peuple pour être en mesure de faire de telles offrandesvolontaires? Car tout vient de toi et c'est de ta main même que nous t'avons donné.
15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.	15 Car nous ne sommes devant toi que des étrangers et des hôtes comme tous nos pères; nosjours sur terre passent comme l'ombre et il n'est point d'espoir.
16 O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building thee a house for thy holy name comes from thy hand and is all thy own.	16 Yahvé, notre Dieu, tout ce que nous avons amoncelé pour la construction d'une Maison àton saint nom provient de ta main, et tout est à toi.
17 I know, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness; in the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen thy people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to thee.	17 Je sais, ô mon Dieu, que tu sondes les coeurs et que tu te plais à la droiture, c'est d'un coeurdroit que je t'ai fait toutes ces offrandes et, à cette heure, j'ai vu avec joie ton peuple, ici présent, te faire cesoffrandes volontaires.
18 O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep for ever such purposes and thoughts in the hearts of thy people, and direct their hearts toward thee.	18 Yahvé, Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, nos pères, garde à jamais cela, formes-en lesdispositions de coeur de ton peuple, et fixe en toi leurs coeurs.
19 Grant to Solomon my son that with a whole heart he may keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, performing all, and that he may build the palace for which I have made provision."	19 A mon fils Salomon donne un coeur intègre pour qu'il garde tes commandements, testémoignages et tes lois, qu'il les mette tous en pratique et bâtisse ce palais que je t'ai préparé."
20 Then David said to all the assembly, "Bless the LORD your God." And all the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and did obeisance to the king.	20 Puis David dit à toute l'assemblée: "Bénissez donc Yahvé votre Dieu!" Et toute l'assembléebénit Yahvé, Dieu de ses pères, et s'agenouilla pour se prosterner devant Dieu et devant le roi.
21 And they performed sacrifices to the LORD, and on the next day offered burnt offerings to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;	21 Puis les Israélites, le lendemain de ce jour, offrirent des sacrifices et des holocaustes àYahvé: mille taureaux, mille béliers, mille agneaux avec les libations conjointes, ainsi que de multiples sacrificespour tout Israël.
22 and they ate and drank before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and they anointed him as prince for the LORD, and Zadok as priest.	22 Ils mangèrent et burent en ce jour devant Yahvé, dans une grande liesse. Puis, ayant faitSalomon, fils de David, roi pour la seconde fois, ils l'oignirent au nom de Yahvé comme chef, et oignirent Sadoqcomme prêtre.
23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father; and he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.	23 Salomon s'assit sur le trône de Yahvé pour régner à la place de David son père. Il prospéraet tout Israël lui obéit.
24 All the leaders and the mighty men, and also all the sons of King David, pledged their allegiance to King Solomon.	24 Tous les officiers, tous les preux et même tous les fils du roi David se soumirent au roiSalomon.
25 And the LORD gave Solomon great repute in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.	25 Sous les yeux de tout Israël, Yahvé porta à son faîte la grandeur de Salomon et lui donna unrègne d'une splendeur que n'avait jamais connue aucun de ceux qui avaient régné avant lui sur Israël.
26 Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.	26 David, fils de Jessé, avait régné sur tout Israël.
27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.	27 Son règne sur Israël avait duré 40 ans; à Hébron il avait régné sept ans et à Jérusalem ilavait régné 33 ans.
28 Then he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.	28 Il mourut dans une heureuse vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesses et d'honneur. PuisSalomon son fils régna à sa place.
29 Now the acts of King David, from first to last, are written in the Chronicles of Samuel the seer, and in the Chronicles of Nathan the prophet, and in the Chronicles of Gad the seer,	29 L'histoire du roi David, du début à la fin, n'est-ce pas écrit dans l'histoire de Samuel levoyant, l'histoire de Natân le prophète, l'histoire de Gad le voyant,
30 with accounts of all his rule and his might and of the circumstances that came upon him and upon Israel, and upon all the kingdoms of the countries.	30 avec son règne entier, ses prouesses, et les heurs et malheurs qu'il dut traverser ainsiqu'Israël et tous les royaumes des pays.
