1 The divisions of the sons of Aaron were these. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.	1 Voici les classes des fils d'Aaron. Fils d'Aaron : Nadab, Abiu, Eléazar, et Ithamar.
2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children, so Eleazar and Ithamar became the priests.	2 Mais Nadab et Abiu moururent avant leur père sans laisser d'enfants; et Eléazar et Ithamar firent toutes les fonctions sacerdotales.
3 With the help of Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, David organized them according to the appointed duties in their service.	3 David divisa donc la famille de Sadoc, qui venait d'Eléazar, et celle d'Ahimélech, qui descendait d'Ithamar, afin qu'elles s'acquittassent alternativement du ministère.
4 Since more chief men were found among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar, they organized them under sixteen heads of fathers' houses of the sons of Eleazar, and eight of the sons of Ithamar.	4 Mais il se trouva beaucoup plus de chefs de familles issus d'Eléazar que d'Ithamar; et il distribua les fils d'Eléazar en seize familles, chaque famille ayant son chef; et ceux d'Ithamar en huit seulement.
5 They organized them by lot, all alike, for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God among both the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.	5 Il distribua encore les fonctions de l'une et de l'autre famille par le sort; car les chefs du sanctuaire et les chefs de Dieu étaient soit des fils d'Eléazar, soit des fils d'Ithamar.
6 And the scribe Shemaiah the son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites; one father's house being chosen for Eleazar and one chosen for Ithamar.	6 Séméias, fils de Nathanaël, secrétaire lévite, en dressa le rôle, en présence du roi et des princes, du prêtre Sadoc, et d'Ahimélech, fils d'Abiathar, et devant les chefs des familles sacerdotales et lévitiques; prenant d'abord une maison d'Eléazar, qui commandait à d'autres, puis une maison d'Ithamar, qui en avait plusieurs autres sous elle.
7 The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,	7 Ainsi le premier sort échut à Joïarib, le second à Jédéi,

16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,	16 le dix-neuvième à Phétéia, le vingtième à Hézéchiel,
17 the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,	17 le vingt et unième à Jachin, le vingt-deuxième à Gamul,

19 These had as their appointed duty in their service to come into the house of the LORD according to the procedure established for them by Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.	19 Telles furent leurs classes selon leurs ministères, pour entrer dans la maison du Seigneur, et, suivant leur rite, être sous la main d'Aaron, leur père, comme le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël l'avait commandé.
20 And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shuba-el; of the sons of Shuba-el, Jehdeiah.	20 Or des fils de Lévi qui restaient, Subaël était des fils d'Amram, et Jédéia des fils de Subaël.
21 Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.	21 Parmi les fils de Rohobia, le chef était Jésias.
22 Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.	22 Salémoth était fils d'Isaar, et Jahath était fils de Salémoth.
23 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.	23 Le fils aîné de Jahath fut Jériaü; le second, Amarias; le troisième, Jahaziel; le quatrième, Jecmaan.
24 The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.	24 Le fils d'Oziel fut Micha; le fils de Micha fut Samir.
25 The brother of Micah, Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.	25 Jésia était frère de Micha; et Zacharie était fils de Jésia.
26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Ja-aziah: Beno.	26 Fils de Mérari : Moholi et Musi. Oziaü eut un fils nommé Benno.
27 The sons of Merari: of Ja-aziah, Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.	27 Autres fils de Mérari : Oziaü, Soam, Zachur et Hébri.
28 Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.	28 Moholi eut un fils nommé Eléazar, qui n'eut point d'enfants.
29 Of Kish, the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel.	29 Jéraméel était fils de Cis.
30 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.	30 Fils de Musi : Moholi, Eder et Jérimoth. Ce sont là les fils de Lévi, comptés selon leurs diverses familles.
31 These also, the head of each father's house and his younger brother alike, cast lots, just as their brethren the sons of Aaron, in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites.	31 Eux aussi avec leurs frères, les fils d'Aaron, tirèrent au sort en présence du roi David, de Sadoc, d'Ahimélech, et des chefs des familles sacerdotales et lévitiques. Tout se tirait au sort, pour diviser également les offices, entre les anciens ou les plus jeunes.
