1 In the spring of the year, the time when kings go forth to battle, Joab led out the army, and ravaged the country of the Ammonites, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it.	1 Or avvenne che l'anno dopo, al tempo in cui i re sogliono andare alla guerra, Gioab radunò l'esercito e il nerbo dei soldati, devastò il paese dei figli di Ammon e, avanzando, assediò Rabba; ma David restò in Gerusalemme. 2 And David took the crown of their king from his head; he found that it weighed a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone; and it was placed on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city, a very great amount.	2 David tolse la corona dal capo di Melcom, e trovatovi il peso di un talento d'oro e gemme di gran pregio, se ne fece un diadema, tolse inoltre grandissima preda dalla città.
3 And he brought forth the people who were in it, and set them to labor with saws and iron picks and axes; and thus David did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.	3 Il popolo che vi era dentro, David lo fece uscir fuori, e li mise sotto le trebbie, gli erpici e i carri ferrati da farli tagliare e stritolare. Così fece David a tutte le città dei figli d'Ammon, e poi tornò con tutta la sua gente a Gerusalemme.
4 And after this there arose war with the Philistines at Gezer; then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Sippai, who was one of the descendants of the giants; and the Philistines were subdued.	4 Dopo questa cominciò la guerra a Gazer contro i Filistei, nella quale Sobocai Husatita uccise Safai della stirpe dei Rafaim, e li umiliò.

6 And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number; and he also was descended from the giants.	6 Vi fu anche un'altra guerra in Get, dove si trovò un uomo di grandissima statura che aveva sei dita, in tutto ventiquattro dita, ed anche lui era della stirpe di Rafa.
7 And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shime-a, David's brother, slew him.	7 Questi bestemmiò Israele; ma Ionatan, figlio di Samaa, fratello di David, lo uccise. Questi sono i figli di Rafa in Get, periti per le mani di David e dei suoi servi.
8 These were descended from the giants in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
