1 Chronicles 15

1 David built houses for himself in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for it.	1 E fece a sè case nella città di David; ed edificoe luogo all' arca di Dio, e distese il tabernacolo.
2 Then David said, "No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister to him for ever."	2 E allora disse David: ella è cosa non lecita, che l'arca di Dio sia portata da ogni persona, se non da' Leviti, i quali Iddio elesse a portarla, e a servirlo insino in sempiterno.
3 And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD to its place, which he had prepared for it.	3 E congregò tutto Israel in Ierusalem, per portare l'arca di Dio nel luogo suo, il quale gli avea apparecchiato;
4 And David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:	4 e anche i figliuoli di Aaron e i Leviti.
5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, with a hundred and twenty of his brethren;	5 De' figliuoli di Caat, fu principe Uriel, e i suoi fratelli CXX.
6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, with two hundred and twenty of his brethren;	6 De' figliuoli di Merari, Asaia principe, e'suoi fratelli CCXX.
7 of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, with a hundred and thirty of his brethren;	7 De' figliuoli di Gersom, Ioel principe, e' suoi fratelli CXXX.
8 of the sons of Eli-zaphan, Shemaiah the chief, with two hundred of his brethren;	8 De' figliuoli di Elisafan, Semeia principe, e' i snoi fratelli CC.
9 of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, with eighty of his brethren;	9 De' figliuoli di Ebron, Eliel principe, e i suoi fratelli ottanta.
10 of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, with a hundred and twelve of his brethren.	10 De' figliuoli di Oziel, Aminadab principe, e i suoi fratelli CXII.
11 Then David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,	11 E chiamò David, Sadoc e Abiatar sacerdoti, e' Leviti Uriel e Asaia, Ioel, [Semeia, Eliel] e Aminadab.
12 and said to them, "You are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, so that you may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.	12 E disse loro:jvoi i quali siete prìncipi delle famiglie de' Leviti, santificate coi vostri fratelli, e portate l'arca di Dio d' Israel al luogo il quale gli è apparecchiato,
13 Because you did not carry it the first time, the LORD our God broke forth upon us, because we did not care for it in the way that is ordained."	13 acciò che noi non facciamo cosa illecita, per la quale Iddio ci abbi a percuotere, sì come fece nel principio, non essendo voi presenti.
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.	14 Onde i sacerdoti e Leviti furono santificati per portare l'arca del Signore Iddio d' Israel.
15 And the Levites carried the ark of God upon their shoulders with the poles, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the LORD.	15 E tolsero gli figliuoli di Levi l'arca di Dio, sì come avea comandato Moisè secondo la parola di Dio, nelle spalle loro in su le stanghe.
16 David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren as the singers who should play loudly on musical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.	16 E disse David a' principi de' Leviti, che de' loro fratelli ordinassero cantori in canti di musica, cioè in organi, lire e cimbali, acciò che risonasse in alto il suono della letizia.
17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari, their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;	17 E ordinarono gli Leviti: Eman figliuolo di Ioel, e de' suoi fratelli: Asaf figliuolo di Barachia, e de' figliuoli di Merari, loro fratelli: Etan figliuolo di Casaia.
18 and with them their brethren of the second order, Zechariah, Ja-aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Ma-aseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Je-iel.	18 E con esso loro i loro fratelli, nel secondo ordine: Zacaria e Ben, Iaziel e Iaiel e Ani, Semiramot ed Eliab e Banaia, Matatia e Maasia, Elifalu e Macenia e Obededom e Ieiel, portieri.
19 The singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were to sound bronze cymbals;	19 E i cantori erano: Eman, Asaf ed Etan, nelli cimbali di rame cantando.
20 Zechariah, Azi-el, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Ma-aseiah, and Benaiah were to play harps according to Alamoth;	20 E Zacaria e Oziel e Semiramot e Iaiel e Ani ed Eliab e Maasia e Banaia nelli organi cantavano i secreti misterii.
21 but Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, Je-iel, and Azaziah were to lead with lyres according to the Sheminith.	21 E Matatia e Elifalu e Macenia e Obededom e Ieiel e Ozaziu con citare cantavano per ottava epinicion.
22 Chenaniah, leader of the Levites in music, should direct the music, for he understood it.	22 E Conenia principe de' Leviti era sopra la profezia a biscantare la melodia; però che egli era molto savio.
23 Berechiah and Elkanah were to be gatekeepers for the ark.	23 E Barachia ed Elcana portatori dell' arca.
24 Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, should blow the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jehiah also were to be gatekeepers for the ark.	24 E Sebenia e Iosafat e Natanael e Amasai e Zacaria e Banaia ed Eliezer sacerdoti suonavano le trombe dinanzi all' arca di Dio; e Obededom e Ieia erano portatori dell' arca.
25 So David and the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-edom with rejoicing.	25 E David e tutti i maggiori d' Israel per nazione e' tribuni andarono a portare l'arca del patto del Signore della casa di Obededom con letizia.
26 And because God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.	26 E avendo Iddio aiutati i Leviti, i quali portavano l'arca del patto del Signore, offerivansi in sacrificio sette tori e sette montoni.
27 David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as also were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the leader of the music of the singers; and David wore a linen ephod.	27 E David era vestito di vestimento di bisso, e tutti i Leviti che portavano l'arca (del Signore), e' cantori, e Coenia principe della profezia era tra' cantori; ed era anche vestito David d'uno efod di lino.
28 So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, to the sound of the horn, trumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on harps and lyres.	28 E tutto Israel menava l'arca di Dio con soave canto, e con suono di corno e di trombe, cimbali, organi e citare cantando.
29 And as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window, and saw King David dancing and making merry; and she despised him in her heart.	29 E pervenuta l'arca del patto di Dio alla città di David, Micol figliuola di Saul, guardando per la finestra, vidde il re David saltare e trastullare; e dispregiollo nel suo cuore.
