1 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, "Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years."	1 Eliseu falou àquela mulher, cujo filho tinha ressuscitado, dizendo: Levanta-te, com a tua família, sai do teu país e habita onde te parecer melhor, porque o Senhor chamou a fome, e ela virá sobre a terra durante sete anos.
2 So the woman arose, and did according to the word of the man of God; she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.	2 Ela levantou-se e fez conforme o que o homem de Deus lhe tinha dito; indo com toda a sua família , habitou sete anos na terra dos Filisteus.
3 And at the end of the seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went forth to appeal to the king for her house and her land.	3 Terminados os sete anos, a mulher voltou da terra dos Filisteus e foi ter com o rei a reclamar a sua casa e as suas fazendas.
4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, "Tell me all the great things that Elisha has done."	4 O rei estava então a falar com Giezi, criado do homem de Deus, dizendo: Conta-me todas as maravilhas que Eliseu tem feito.
5 And while he was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and her land. And Gehazi said, "My lord, O king, here is the woman, and here is her son whom Elisha restored to life."	5 Enquanto ele contava ao rei como Eliseu tinha ressuscitado um morto, apareceu a mulher, cujo filho ressuscitara, reclamando ante o rei a sua casa e as suas fazendas. Giezi disse: Ó rei meu senhor, é esta aquela mulher, e este é o seu filho, que Eliseu ressuscitou.
6 And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, "Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now."	6 E o rei interrogou a mulher, a qual lhe contou (tudo). O rei deu-lhe um eunuco (para ir com ela), dizendo: Faze-lhe restituir tudo o que é seu, assim como todos os rendimentos de suas fazendas, desde o dia em que ela deixou o país até ao presente.
7 Now Elisha came to Damascus. Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and when it was told him, "The man of God has come here,"	7 Eliseu foi também a Damasco. Benadad, rei da Síria, estava doente. Avisaram-no, dizendo: O homem de Deus chegou aqui.
8 the king said to Hazael, "Take a present with you and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD through him, saying, 'Shall I recover from this sickness?"	8 O rei disse a Hazael: Toma contigo presentes, vai ao encontro do homem de Deus e consulta o Senhor por meio dele, perguntando-lhe se eu poderei escapar desta minha doença.
9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camel loads. When he came and stood before him, he said, "Your son Ben-hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Shall I recover from this sickness?"	9 Foi, pois, Hazael ao encontro do homem de Deus, levando consigo presentes e todas as coisas mais preciosas de Damasco em quarenta camelos carregados. Tendo-se apresentado a Eliseu, disse: Teu filho Benadad, rei da Síria, enviou-me a ti para saber se poderá sarar da sua doença.
10 And Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, 'You shall certainly recover'; but the LORD has shown me that he shall certainly die."	10 Eliseu respondeu: Vai e dize-lhe : Sararás. O Senhor, porém, mostrou-me que ele morrerá certamente (de morte violenta).
11 And he fixed his gaze and stared at him, until he was ashamed. And the man of God wept.	11 Depois (Eliseu) fitou de tal forma Hazael que o rosto dele corou. E o homem de Deus chorou.
12 And Hazael said, "Why does my lord weep?" He answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the people of Israel; you will set on fire their fortresses, and you will slay their young men with the sword, and dash in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child."	12 Hazael disse-lhe: Por que chora o meu Senhor? Eliseu respondeu-lhe: Porque sei os males que farás aos filhos de Israel. Queimarás as suas cidades fortes, passarás à espada os seus jovens, esmagarás as suas crianças, rasgarás pelo meio o ventre das mulheres grávidas.
13 And Hazael said, "What is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?" Elisha answered, "The LORD has shown me that you are to be king over Syria."	13 Hazael disse-lhe: Quem sou eu, teu servo, senão um cão, para (que possa) fazer tão grandes coisas? Eliseu respondeu: O Senhor mostrou-me que tu serás rei da Síria.
14 Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, "What did Elisha say to you?" And he answered, "He told me that you would certainly recover."	14 Hazael, depois de deixar Eliseu, voltou para o seu senhor, o qual lhe perguntou: Que te disse Eliseu? Ele respondeu-lhe: Disse-me que recobrarás a saúde.
15 But on the morrow he took the coverlet and dipped it in water and spread it over his face, till he died. And Hazael became king in his stead.	15 Ao outro dia, Hazael pegou numa coberta, molhou-a em água, estendeu-a sobre o rosto do rei, o qual morreu (sufocado). Hazael reinou em seu lugar.
16 In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign.	16 No ano quinto de Jorão, filho de Acab, rei de Israel, e de Josafat, rei de Judá, reinou Jorão, filho de Josafat, rei de Judá.
17 He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.	17 Tinha trinta e dois anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém.
18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD.	18 Andou pelos caminhos dos reis de Israel, como tinha andado a casa de Acab, porque uma filha de Acab era sua mulher, e praticou o mal diante do Senhor.
19 Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah, for the sake of David his servant, since he promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons for ever.	19 Porém o Senhor não quis exterminar Judá, por causa de David e, seu servo, conforme a promessa que lhe tinha feito de que conservaria sempre uma lâmpada na sua posteridade.
20 In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah, and set up a king of their own.	20 No tempo do seu reinado rebelou-se Edom, para não estar debaixo do jugo de Judá, e constituiu para si um rei.
21 Then Joram passed over to Zair with all his chariots, and rose by night, and he and his chariot commanders smote the Edomites who had surrounded him; but his army fled home.	21 Jorão foi a Seira com todos os seus carros, saiu de noite e bateu os Idumeus, que o tinham cercado, e os comandantes das carroças; mas o povo fugiu para as suas tendas.
22 So Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.	22 Edom sacudiu o jugo de Judá até ao dia de hoje. Naquele mesmo tempo revoltou-se também Lobna.
23 Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?	23 Quanto ao resto das acções de Jorão, a tudo o que ele fez, não se encontram todas essas coisas escritas no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá?
24 So Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.	24 Jorão adormeceu com seus pais, e foi sepultado com eles na cidade de Davide. E em seu lugar reinou seu filho Ocozias.
25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, began to reign.	25 No ano duodécimo de Jorão, filho de Acab, rei de Israel, subiu ao trono Ocozias, filho de Jorão, rei de Judá.
26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah; she was a granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.	26 Tinha Ocozias vinte e dois anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou um ano em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Atalia, filha de Anri, rei de Israel.
27 He also walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for he was son-in-law to the house of Ahab.	27 Ele seguiu os mesmos passos que a casa de Acab, praticou o mal diante do Senhor, como a casa de Acab, porque era genro da casa de Acab.
28 He went with Joram the son of Ahab to make war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead, where the Syrians wounded Joram.	28 Foi com Jorão, filho de Acab, combater contra Hazael, rei da Síria, em Ramot de Galaad. Os Sírios feriram Jorão,
29 And King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.	29 o qual voltou a Jezrael para se curar dos ferimentos que os Sírios lhe tinham causado, em Ramot, enquanto pelejava contra Hazael, rei da Síria. Ocozias, filho de Jorão, rei de Judá, foi a Jezrael para visitar Jorão, filho de Acab, que estava lá doente.
