2 Kings 22

1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.	1 Ed era Iosia, quando incominciò a regnare, d'otto anni; e XXXI anno regnò in Ierusalem; ed ebbe nome la sua madre Idida, figliuola di Adaia di Besecat.
2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.	2 E fece quello che piacque nel cospetto di Dio Signore, e andò per tutte le vie del suo padre David; e non declinò nè a parte diritta, nè a parte sinistra.
3 In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, son of Meshullam, the secretary, to the house of the LORD, saying,	3 E nell' anno XVIII di Iosia, mandò il re Safan [il] figliuolo di Aslia, figliuolo di Messula, scrivano del tempio di Dio, dicendo a lui:
4 "Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may reckon the amount of the money which has been brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the threshold have collected from the people;	4 Vanne a Elcia grande sacerdote, e digli che sia ricolta la moneta, la quale è entrata nel tempio di Dio, la quale i portieri del tempio recolseno dal populo;
5 and let it be given into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the LORD; and let them give it to the workmen who are at the house of the LORD, repairing the house,	5 e sia data a' maestri per li soprastanti della casa di Dio; li quali la distribuiscano agli operai, i quali lavoreranno nel tempio di Dio,
6 that is, to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, as well as for buying timber and quarried stone to repair the house.	6 cioè a' maestri di legname e di pietre, e a quelli che riconciano le rotture; e acciò che si compri il legname, e le pietre delle cave, a restaurare il tempio di Dio.
7 But no accounting shall be asked from them for the money which is delivered into their hand, for they deal honestly."	7 Ma non s' annumeri l'ariento a loro; anzi l'abbiano in loro podestà e fede.
8 And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, "I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD." And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.	8 Ed Elcia pontefice disse a Safan scrivano: io ho trovato il libro della legge nella casa del Signore. E diede Elcia il libro a Safan; e lui lo lesse.
9 And Shaphan the secretary came to the king, and reported to the king, "Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the LORD."	9 E Safan scrivano se n' andò al re, e renunciogli quello che avea comandato, e disse: i tuoi servi hanno raccolto la pecunia la quale si trovò nel tempio del Signore; e hannola data, che sia distribuita a' maestri da' soprastanti dell' opera del tempio di Dio.
10 Then Shaphan the secretary told the king, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a book." And Shaphan read it before the king.	10 E narrò Safan scrivano al re, e disse: Elcia sacerdote mi diede uno libro. Il quale lettolo Safan dinanzi al re,
11 And when the king heard the words of the book of the law, he rent his clothes.	11 e udito il re le parole [del libro] della legge di Dio, isquarciò le sue vestimenta.
12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the secretary, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,	12 E comandò ad Elcia sacerdote, e ad Aicam figliuolo di Safan, e ad Acobor figliuolo di Mica, e a Safan scrivano, e ad Asaia servo del re, e disse:
13 "Go, inquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found; for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us."	13 Andate e domandate consiglio a Dio di me e del popolo e di tutto Giuda, per le parole di questo libro il quale è trovato; però che grande ira del Signore è accesa contra di noi; però che i padri nostri non udirono la parola di questo libro, per fare tutto quello che a noi è scritto.
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter); and they talked with her.	14 E andarono Elcia sacerdote e Aicam e Acobor e Safan e Asaia a Olda profetessa, moglie di Sellum, figliuolo di Tecua, figliuolo di Araas guardiano delle vestimenta, la quale profetessa abitava in Ierusalem; e favellarono con lei.
15 And she said to them, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: 'Tell the man who sent you to me,	15 Ed ella respuose loro, dicendo: questo dice il Signore Iddio d'Israel: dite all' uomo che vi ha mandati a me:
16 Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read.	16 Questo dice il Signore: ecco ch' io adducerò mali sopra cotesto luogo, e sopra gli suoi abitatori, (per) tutte le parole della legge la quale ha letta il re di Giuda;
17 Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.	17 però che lasciarono me, e hanno sacrificato agli dii estrani, provocandomi in tutte le opere delle loro mani; e accenderassi la mia indignazione in questo luogo, e non si smorzerà.
18 But as to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Regarding the words which you have heard,	18 Ma al re di Giuda, che v' ha mandati a domandare consiglio al Signore, direte così: questo dice il Signore Iddio d' Israel, però che tu intendesti le parole del libro,
19 because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the LORD, when you heard how I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have rent your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, says the LORD.	19 e isbigottì il tuo cuore, e se' umiliato nel cospetto di Dio, udite le parole contra a questo luogo e contro a' suoi abitatori, cioè che loro saranno fatti in maraviglia e in maledizione; e isquarciasti le tue vestimenta, e piagnesti dinanzi a me, e io t'ho udito, dice il Signore;
20 Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place.'" And they brought back word to the king.	20 e però io ti ricoglierò colli padri tuoi, e sarai ricolto nel tuo sepolcro in pace, acciò che gli occhii tuoi non veggiano tutti i mali i quali io recherò sopra questo luogo.
