1 When Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the king's house and all that Solomon desired to build,	1 Cuando Salomón terminó de construir el templo del Señor, el palacio real y todo lo que había deseado hacer,
2 the LORD appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.	2 el Señor se apareció a Salomón por segunda vez, como se le había manifestado en Gabaón.
3 And the LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your supplication, which you have made before me; I have consecrated this house which you have built, and put my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.	3 El Señor le dijo: «He escuchado la plegaria y la súplica que has pronunciado ante mí. Consagro este templo que me has construido para poner en él mi Nombre para siempre; mis ojos y mi corazón estarán en él por siempre.
4 And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my ordinances,	4 Y en cuanto a ti, si marchas ante mí como lo hizo David tu padre, con corazón íntegro y recto, haciendo todo lo que te ordene, guardando mis mandatos y decretos,
5 then I will establish your royal throne over Israel for ever, as I promised David your father, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.'	5 yo afianzaré el trono de tu realeza sobre Israel para siempre como prometí a David tu padre: “No te faltará uno de los tuyos sobre el trono de Israel”.
6 But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,	6 Pero si vosotros y vuestros hijos me dais la espalda y no guardáis los mandatos y decretos que os he dado, y os dedicáis a servir a otros dioses y a postraros ante ellos,
7 then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and the house which I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight; and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.	7 yo arrancaré a Israel de la superficie de la tierra que les di, retiraré de mi presencia el templo que he consagrado a mi Nombre, e Israel se convertirá en objeto de burla y de escarnio entre todos los pueblos.
8 And this house will become a heap of ruins; everyone passing by it will be astonished, and will hiss; and they will say, 'Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?'	8 Y este santuario se convertirá en ruina, de modo que todos los que pasen ante él quedarán estupefactos y silbarán preguntándose: “¿Por qué ha actuado el Señor así con esta tierra y este templo?”.
9 Then they will say, 'Because they forsook the LORD their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them and served them; therefore the LORD has brought all this evil upon them.'"	9 Y responderán: “Porque abandonaron al Señor, su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de la tierra de Egipto y abrazaron otros dioses, se postraron ante ellos y les rindieron culto; por eso ha hecho venir el Señor sobre ellos estos males”».
10 At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD and the king's house,	10 Veinte años después de que Salomón hubo construido las dos casas, el templo del Señor y el palacio real,
11 and Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold, as much as he desired, King Solomon gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.	11 el rey entregó a Jirán veinte ciudades en la tierra de Galilea, pues Jirán, rey de Tiro, había proporcionado a Salomón madera de cedro y de ciprés y todo el oro que quiso.
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, they did not please him.	12 Salió Jirán de Tiro a observar las ciudades que Salomón le había entregado, pero no le agradaron,
13 Therefore he said, "What kind of cities are these which you have given me, my brother?" So they are called the land of Cabul to this day.	13 y se quejó: «¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has entregado, hermano mío?». Las denominó: «Tierra de Cabul», nombre conservado hasta el día de hoy.
14 Hiram had sent to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.	14 Había enviado Jirán al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.
15 And this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon levied to build the house of the LORD and his own house and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer	15 Esto es lo referente a la prestación personal que el rey Salomón estableció para construir el templo del Señor y el palacio real, el Miló y la muralla de Jerusalén, Jasor, Meguido y Guézer
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burnt it with fire, and had slain the Canaanites who dwelt in the city, and had given it as dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife;	16 —el faraón, rey de Egipto, había subido y tomado Guézer y, tras incendiarla y matar a los cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, la entregó en dote a su hija, la mujer de Salomón,
17 so Solomon rebuilt Gezer) and Lower Beth-horon	17 quien la reconstruyó—, Bet Jorón de abajo,
18 and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,	18 Baalat y Tamar en el desierto del país,
19 and all the store-cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.	19 más todas las ciudades de aprovisionamiento que tenía Salomón, las ciudades para carros y caballos, y cuanto Salomón quiso construir en Jerusalén, en el Líbano o por todos los dominios de su reino.
20 All the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel--	20 A cuantos quedaron de los amorreos, hititas, perizitas, jivitas y jebuseos, que no eran de los hijos de Israel,
21 their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel were unable to destroy utterly--these Solomon made a forced levy of slaves, and so they are to this day.	21 cuyos descendientes habían permanecido en el país y a quienes los hijos de Israel no habían podido exterminar mediante anatema, Salomón los redujo a mano de obra forzada, como ha sucedido hasta el día de hoy.
22 But of the people of Israel Solomon made no slaves; they were the soldiers, they were his officials, his commanders, his captains, his chariot commanders and his horsemen.	22 Pero a los hijos de Israel no les impuso trabajos forzados, pues eran sus guerreros, oficiales y jefes, escuderos y guías de sus carros y caballería.
23 These were the chief officers who were over Solomon's work: five hundred and fifty, who had charge of the people who carried on the work.	23 Los capataces de los prefectos al frente de las obras de Salomón eran quinientos cincuenta para dirigir a los obreros de sus construcciones.
24 But Pharaoh's daughter went up from the city of David to her own house which Solomon had built for her; then he built the Millo.	24 Una vez que la hija del faraón hubo subido de la ciudad de David al palacio que Salomón construyera para ella, se edificó el Miló.
25 Three times a year Solomon used to offer up burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built to the LORD, burning incense before the LORD. So he finished the house.	25 Tres veces al año, Salomón ofrecía holocaustos y sacrificios de comunión en el altar que había levantado al Señor y quemaba ante él las ofrendas abrasadas. Así, llevó a conclusión la obra del templo.
26 King Solomon built a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.	26 El rey Salomón construyó una flota en Esión Guéber, cerca de Elat, a orillas del mar Rojo en tierra de Edón.
27 And Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, seamen who were familiar with the sea, together with the servants of Solomon;	27 Jirán envió en las naves servidores suyos, marineros expertos, junto con los servidores de Salomón.
28 and they went to Ophir, and brought from there gold, to the amount of four hundred and twenty talents; and they brought it to King Solomon.	28 Llegaron a Ofir y de allí trajeron cuatrocientos veinte talentos de oro que llevaron ante el rey.
