1 When Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the king's house and all that Solomon desired to build,	1 Történt pedig, hogy miután Salamon befejezte az Úr házának épületét s a király épületét s mindazt, amit készíteni kívánt és akart,
2 the LORD appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.	2 másodszor is megjelent neki az Úr úgy, ahogy megjelent neki Gibeonban.
3 And the LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your supplication, which you have made before me; I have consecrated this house which you have built, and put my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.	3 Azt mondta ekkor neki az Úr: »Meghallgattam imádságodat s könyörgésedet, amellyel könyörögtél előttem, s szentté tettem ezt a házat, amelyet építettél, hogy oda helyezzem nevemet mindörökké, s ott legyen szemem és szívem mindenkoron.
4 And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my ordinances,	4 Ha te is előttem jársz úgy, ahogy apád járt, feddhetetlen szívvel és egyenességgel, s megteszed mindazt, amit parancsoltam neked, s megtartod törvényeimet s rendeleteimet,
5 then I will establish your royal throne over Israel for ever, as I promised David your father, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.'	5 akkor örökre megszilárdítom Izrael felett való királyságod trónját, amint apádnak, Dávidnak megígértem, amikor azt mondtam: Nem fogy el ivadékod Izrael királyi székéről.
6 But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,	6 Ha azonban ti és fiaitok elfordultok tőlem, s nem követtek engem, s nem tartjátok meg parancsaimat és szertartásaimat, amelyeket elétek adtam, hanem elmentek, s más isteneket tiszteltek és imádtok,
7 then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and the house which I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight; and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.	7 akkor eltávolítom Izraelt annak a földnek a színéről, amelyet nekik adtam, s a templomot, amelyet nevemnek szenteltem, elvetem színem elől. Akkor Izrael közmondás és példabeszéd tárgya lesz minden népnél,
8 And this house will become a heap of ruins; everyone passing by it will be astonished, and will hiss; and they will say, 'Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?'	8 ez a ház pedig intő példa lesz: mindenki, aki elhalad mellette, elámul, felszisszen és azt fogja mondani: ‘Miért cselekedett az Úr így ezzel a földdel és ezzel a házzal?’
9 Then they will say, 'Because they forsook the LORD their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them and served them; therefore the LORD has brought all this evil upon them.'"	9 Erre azt fogják felelni: ‘Mert elhagyták az Urat, Istenüket, aki kihozta atyáikat Egyiptom földjéről, s más isteneket követtek, imádtak és tiszteltek: azért hozta rájuk az Úr mindezt a rosszat.’«
10 At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD and the king's house,	10 Amikor aztán elmúlt a húsz esztendő és Salamon felépítette a két házat, vagyis az Úr házát s a király házát,
11 and Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold, as much as he desired, King Solomon gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.	11 (miközben Hírám, Tírusz királya adott Salamonnak cédrus- és fenyőfát, meg aranyat, amennyi csak kellett), akkor Salamon húsz várost adott Hírámnak Galilea földjén.
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, they did not please him.	12 Hírám el is ment Tíruszból, hogy megnézze a városokat, amelyeket Salamon neki adott, de nem tetszettek neki
13 Therefore he said, "What kind of cities are these which you have given me, my brother?" So they are called the land of Cabul to this day.	13 és azt mondta: »Ezek azok a városok, amelyeket nekem adtál, testvér?« El is nevezte őket Kabulföldnek, mind a mai napig.
14 Hiram had sent to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.	14 Százhúsz talentum aranyat küldött ugyanis Hírám Salamon királynak.
15 And this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon levied to build the house of the LORD and his own house and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer	15 Ez volt azoknak a kiadásoknak az összege, amelyeket Salamon király az Úr házának, a maga házának, a Millónak, Jeruzsálem falainak, Heszernek, Megiddónak és Gézernek felépítésére fordított.
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burnt it with fire, and had slain the Canaanites who dwelt in the city, and had given it as dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife;	16 A fáraó, Egyiptom királya ugyanis felment, s elfoglalta Gézert, s azt felgyújtotta tűzzel, a kánaániakat pedig, akik a várost lakták, megölte, s aztán odaadta a várost lányának, Salamon feleségének hozományul.
17 so Solomon rebuilt Gezer) and Lower Beth-horon	17 Így tehát Salamon fölépíttette Gézert, továbbá Alsó-Béthoront
18 and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,	18 és Baálátot és a Pusztaság földjén levő Palmírát
19 and all the store-cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.	19 és megerősíttetett minden falut, amely az övé volt, s amelynek nem voltak falai, s építtetett városokat a szekereknek és városokat a lovasoknak és mindenfélét, aminek építéséhez kedve volt Jeruzsálemben, s a Libanonon s birodalmának egész földjén.
20 All the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel--	20 Azt az egész népet, amely megmaradt az amoriták, a hetiták, a periziták, a hivviták s a jebuziták közül, akik nem voltak Izrael fiai közül valók,
21 their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel were unable to destroy utterly--these Solomon made a forced levy of slaves, and so they are to this day.	21 ezeknek a fiait tudniillik, akik megmaradtak az országban, s akiket Izrael fiai nem tudtak kiirtani, Salamon robotosokká tette mind a mai napig.
22 But of the people of Israel Solomon made no slaves; they were the soldiers, they were his officials, his commanders, his captains, his chariot commanders and his horsemen.	22 Izrael fiai közül azonban senkit sem vetett Salamon robotszolgaságra, hanem azok harcosok, az ő szolgái, főemberei, vezérei, szekereinek és lovainak felügyelői lettek.
23 These were the chief officers who were over Solomon's work: five hundred and fifty, who had charge of the people who carried on the work.	23 A főemberek, akik Salamon minden munkájának élén álltak, ötszázötvenen voltak; ezek alá tartozott a nép és ők intézkedtek a kirótt munkákban.
24 But Pharaoh's daughter went up from the city of David to her own house which Solomon had built for her; then he built the Millo.	24 Amikor aztán a fáraó lánya felment a Dávid-városból a maga házába, amelyet Salamon neki építtetett, ő tüstént megépíttette a Millót.
25 Three times a year Solomon used to offer up burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built to the LORD, burning incense before the LORD. So he finished the house.	25 Esztendőnként háromszor pedig egészen elégő áldozatokat és békeáldozatokat mutatott be Salamon azon az oltáron, amelyet az Úrnak építtetett, s füstölőszert gyújtott az Úr előtt, miután elkészült a templom.
26 King Solomon built a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.	26 Hajóhadat is létesített Salamon király Ecjon-Gáberben, amely Ejlát mellett, a Vörös-tenger partján, Edom földjén van.
27 And Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, seamen who were familiar with the sea, together with the servants of Solomon;	27 Ekkor Hírám elküldte hajós és tengerismerő szolgáit e hajóhadon Salamon szolgáival
28 and they went to Ophir, and brought from there gold, to the amount of four hundred and twenty talents; and they brought it to King Solomon.	28 és azok eljutottak Ofírba, s hoztak onnan négyszázhúsz talentum aranyat, s elvitték Salamon királyhoz.
