1 And David said, "Is there still any one left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"	1 David demanda: “Y a-t-il encore un survivant dans la famille de Saül pour que je le traite avec bonté en souvenir de Jonathan?”
2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "Your servant is he."	2 Or la famille de Saül avait un intendant qui se nommait Siba. On le conduisit auprès de David et le roi lui dit: “Tu es bien Siba?” Il répondit: “Pour te servir.”
3 And the king said, "Is there not still some one of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him?" Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet."	3 Le roi lui demanda: “Reste-t-il encore un survivant de la famille de Saül pour que je le traite avec une bonté digne de Dieu?” Siba répondit au roi: “Il reste encore un fils de Jonathan qui est infirme des deux pieds.”
4 The king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "He is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar."	4 “Où est-il?” demanda le roi. Siba répondit au roi: “Il est dans la maison de Makir, fils d’Ammiel, à Lo-Débar.”
5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar.	5 Le roi David l’envoya donc chercher à la maison de Makir, fils d’Ammiel à Lo-Débar.
6 And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, "Mephibosheth!" And he answered, "Behold, your servant."	6 Quand Méribaal, fils de Jonathan, fils de Saül, arriva auprès de David, il se prosterna le visage contre terre. David lui dit: “Méribaal!” Il répondit: “Je suis ton serviteur.”
7 And David said to him, "Do not fear; for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father; and you shall eat at my table always."	7 Alors David lui dit: “Ne crains rien, je veux te traiter avec bonté à cause de ton père Jonathan. Je te rendrai toutes les terres de Saül ton ancêtre, et tous les jours tu prendras tes repas à ma table.”
8 And he did obeisance, and said, "What is your servant, that you should look upon a dead dog such as I?"	8 Il se prosterna de nouveau et dit: “Qui est ton serviteur, pour que tu fasses attention à un chien crevé tel que moi?”
9 Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master's son.	9 Le roi convoqua Siba, le serviteur de Saül, et lui dit: “Je donne au fils de ton maître tout ce qui appartenait à Saül et à sa famille.
10 And you and your sons and your servants shall till the land for him, and shall bring in the produce, that your master's son may have bread to eat; but Mephibosheth your master's son shall always eat at my table." Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.	10 Tu travailleras pour lui la terre avec tes fils et tes esclaves, tu en récolteras les fruits, et ainsi tu assureras à la famille de ton maître la nourriture dont elle a besoin. Mais Méribaal, le fils de ton maître, prendra tous les jours ses repas à ma table.” Siba avait 15 fils et 20 esclaves,
11 Then Ziba said to the king, "According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so will your servant do." So Mephibosheth ate at David's table, like one of the king's sons.	11 il répondit au roi: “Ton serviteur fera tout ce que mon seigneur le roi a commandé à son serviteur.” Ainsi Méribaal prenait ses repas à la table de David comme l’un des fils du roi,
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who dwelt in Ziba's house became Mephibosheth's servants.	12 Méribaal avait un petit garçon qui se nommait Mika. Tous les gens de la maison de Siba travaillaient pour Méribaal,
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he ate always at the king's table. Now he was lame in both his feet.	13 Mais Méribaal résidait à Jérusalem où il prenait tous les jours ses repas à la table du roi. Il était infirme de ses deux pieds.
