1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).	1 Ézsaunak, azaz Edomnak nemzetsége pedig a következő.
2 Esau took his wives from the Canaanites: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah the daughter of Anah the son of Zibeon the Hivite,	2 Ézsau feleségül vette Kánaán lányai közül Ádát, a hetita Élon lányát, ezenkívül Oholibámát, Ánának, a horita Cibón fiának lányát,
3 and Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, the sister of Nebaioth.	3 továbbá Bászemátot, Izmael lányát, Nebajót nővérét.
4 And Adah bore to Esau, Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel;	4 Áda Elifázt szülte, Bászemát Reuelt szülte,

6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his cattle, all his beasts, and all his property which he had acquired in the land of Canaan; and he went into a land away from his brother Jacob.	6 Ézsau azután fogta a feleségeit, a fiait s a lányait, és háza egész népét, valamint jószágát és barmait, s mindent, amit Kánaánban szerzett, és Szeír földjére ment, különválva öccsétől, Jákobtól.

8 So Esau dwelt in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.	8 Azután Ézsau, vagyis Edom, letelepedett Szeír hegyén.
9 These are the descendants of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.	9 Ézsaunak, az edomiták atyjának nemzetsége Szeír hegyén a következő,
10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau.	10 és fiainak neve a következő: Elifáz, Ádának, Ézsau feleségének a fia, és Reuel, Bászemátnak, Ézsau feleségének a fia.
11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.	11 Elifáz fiai voltak: Temán, Ómár, Szefó, Gátám és Kenez.
12 (Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, Esau's son; she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the sons of Adah, Esau's wife.	12 Támna pedig, aki Elifáznak, Ézsau fiának mellékfelesége volt, Amaleket szülte neki. Ezek Ádának, Ézsau feleségének fiai.

17 These are the sons of Reuel, Esau's son: the chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah; these are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are the sons of Basemath, Esau's wife.	17 Reuelnek, Ézsau fiának fiai pedig a következők: Náhát fejedelem, Zára fejedelem, Sámma fejedelem, Meza fejedelem. 18 These are the sons of Oholibamah, Esau's wife: the chiefs Jeush, Jalam, and Korah; these are the chiefs born of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.	18 Oholibámának, Ézsau feleségének fiai pedig a következők: Jehus fejedelem, Ihelon fejedelem, Kóré fejedelem. 22 The sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman; and Lotan's sister was Timna.	22 Lótán fiai pedig ezek voltak: Hóri és Hemán. Lótán nővére pedig Támna volt.
23 These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.	23 Sobál fiai a következők: Alván, Manhat, Ebál, Szefó és Onám.

32 Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, the name of his city being Dinhabah.	32 Uralkodott Edomban Bela, Beor fia; a városának neve: Denába.
33 Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.	33 Amikor Bela meghalt, Jobáb, a boszrai Zára fia lett a király helyette.
34 Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.	34 Amikor pedig Jobáb is meghalt, a temániták földjéről való Husám lett a király helyette.
35 Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his stead, the name of his city being Avith.	35 Amikor az is meghalt, Hadad, Bádád fia lett a király helyette, az, aki megverte Mádiánt Moáb földjén. A városának neve: Ávit.
36 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.	36 Amikor Hadad meghalt, a mászrekai Szemla lett a király helyette.

40 These are the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families and their dwelling places, by their names: the chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,	40 Ézsau fejedelmeinek neve pedig családjuk, helyeik és nevük szerint a következő: Támna fejedelem, Álva fejedelem, Jetet fejedelem,
41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,	41 Oholibáma fejedelem, Éla fejedelem, Finon fejedelem,
42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,	42 Kenez fejedelem, Temán fejedelem, Mábszár fejedelem,
43 Magdiel, and Iram; these are the chiefs of Edom (that is, Esau, the father of Edom), according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession.	43 Magdiél fejedelem, Hírám fejedelem. Ezek Edomnak, azaz Ézsaunak, az edomiták atyjának fejedelmei, annak megfelelően, ahogy birodalmuk földjén laktak.
