1 John 5

1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God. And everyone who loves God, who provides that birth, also loves him who has been born of God.	1 Quiconque croit que Jésus est le Christ, est né de Dieu; et quiconque aime Celui qui a engendré, aime aussi Celui qui est né de Lui.
2 In this way, we know that we love those born of God: when we love God and do his commandments.	2 A ceci nous connaissons que nous aimons les enfants de Dieu: c'est quand nous aimons Dieu, et que nous gardons Ses commandements.
3 For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not heavy.	3 Car l'amour pour Dieu consiste en ce que nous gardions Ses commandements; et Ses commandements ne sont pas pénibles.
4 For all that is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world: our faith.	4 Car tout ce qui est né de Dieu est vainqueur du monde; et ce qui remporte la victoire sur le monde, c'est notre foi.
5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God!	5 Quel est celui qui est vainqueur du monde, sinon celui qui croit que Jésus est le Fils de Dieu?
6 This is the One who came by water and blood: Jesus Christ. Not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies that the Christ is the Truth.	6 C'est Lui qui est venu par l'eau et par le sang, Jésus-Christ; non par l'eau seulement, mais par l'eau et par le sang. Et c'est l'Esprit qui rend témoignage que le Christ est la vérité.
7 For there are Three who give testimony in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. And these Three are One.	7 Car il y en a trois qui rendent témoignage dans le Ciel: le Père, le Verbe et le Saint-Esprit; et ces trois sont un.
8 And there are three who give testimony on earth: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood. And these three are one.	8 Et il en a trois qui rendent témoignage sur la terre: l'Esprit, l'eau, et le sang; et ces trois sont un.
9 If we accept the testimony of men, then the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God, which is greater: that he has testified about his Son.	9 Si nous recevons le témoignage des hommes, le témoignage de Dieu est plus grand; or, ce témoignage de Dieu qui est plus grand, est celui qu'Il a rendu au sujet de Son Fils.
10 Whoever believes in the Son of God, holds the testimony of God within himself. Whoever does not believe in the Son, makes him a liar, because he does not believe in the testimony which God has testified about his Son.	10 Celui qui croit au Fils de Dieu a le témoignage de Dieu en lui-même. Celui qui ne croit pas au Fils fait Dieu menteur, parce qu'il ne croit pas au témoignage que Dieu a rendu à l'égard de Son Fils.
11 And this is the testimony which God has given to us: Eternal Life. And this Life is in his Son.	11 Et voici ce témoignage: c'est que Dieu nous a donné la vie éternelle, et cette vie est dans Son Fils.
12 Whoever has the Son, has Life. Whoever does not have the Son, does not have Life.	12 Celui qui a le Fils a la vie; celui qui n'a pas le Fils n'a pas la vie.
13 I am writing this to you, so that you may know that you have Eternal Life: you who believe in the name of the Son of God.	13 Je vous écris ces choses afin que vous sachiez que vous avez la vie éternelle, vous qui croyez au nom du Fils de Dieu.
14 And this is the confidence which we have toward God: that no matter what we shall request, in accord with his will, he hears us.	14 Et c'est là l'assurance que nous avons envers Lui: quoi que nous Lui demandions selon Sa volonté, Il nous exauce.
15 And we know that he hears us, no matter what we request; so we know that we can obtain the things that we request of him.	15 Et nous savons qu'Il nous exauce, quoi que nous Lui demandions; nous le savons, parce que nous obtenons les choses que nous Lui demandons.
16 Anyone who realizes that his brother has sinned, with a sin that is not unto death, let him pray, and life shall be given to him who has sinned not unto death. There is a sin which is unto death. I am not saying that anyone should ask on behalf of that sin.	16 Si quelqu'un voit son frère commettre un péché qui ne va pas à la mort, qu'il prie; et la vie lui sera donnée, si ce péché ne va pas à la mort. Il y a un péché qui va àla mort: ce n'est pas pour ce péché-là que je vous dis de prier.
17 All that is iniquity is sin. But there is a sin unto death.	17 Toute iniquité est un péché, et il y a un péché qui va à la mort.
18 We know that everyone who is born of God does not sin. Instead, rebirth in God preserves him, and the evil one cannot touch him.	18 Nous savons que quiconque est né de Dieu ne pèche point; mais la naissance qu'il a reçue de Dieu le conserve, et le malin n'a pas de prise sur lui.
19 We know that we are of God, and that the entire world is established in wickedness.	19 Nous savons que nous sommes de Dieu, et que le monde entier est sous l'empire du malin.
20 And we know that the Son of God has arrived, and that he has given us understanding, so that we may know the true God, and so that we may remain in his true Son. This is the true God, and this is Eternal Life.	20 Et nous savons aussi que le Fils de Dieu est venu, et qu'Il nous a donné l'intelligence, afin que nous connaissions le vrai Dieu, et que nous soyons en Son vrai Fils. C'est Lui qui est le vrai Dieu et la vie éternelle.
21 Little sons, keep yourselves from false worship. Amen.	21 Mes petits enfants, gardez-vous des idoles. Amen.
