1 Timothy 6

1 Whoever are servants under the yoke, let them consider their masters to be worthy of every honor, lest the name and doctrine of the Lord be blasphemed.	1 Wszyscy, którzy są pod jarzmem jako niewolnicy, niech własnych panów uznają za godnych wszelkiej czci, ażeby nie bluźniono imieniu Boga i [naszej] nauce.
2 But those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers, but rather serve them all the more because they are believing and beloved, participants of the same service. Teach and exhort these things.	2 Ci zaś, którzy mają wierzących panów, niechaj ich nie lekceważą z tego powodu, że są braćmi, ale niech im lepiej służą, dlatego że są oni wierzącymi i umiłowanymi jako uczestnicy dobrodziejstwa. Tych rzeczy nauczaj i do nich zachęcaj!
3 If anyone teaches otherwise, and does not consent to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to that doctrine which is in accord with piety,	3 Jeśli ktoś naucza inaczej i nie trzyma się zdrowych słów Pana naszego Jezusa Chrystusa oraz nauki zgodnej z pobożnością,
4 then he is arrogant, knowing nothing, yet languishing amid the questions and quarrels of words. From these arise envy, contention, blasphemy, evil suspicions:	4 jest nadęty, niczego nie pojmuje, lecz choruje na dociekania i słowne utarczki. Z nich rodzą się: zawiść, sprzeczka, bluźnierstwa, złośliwe podejrzenia,
5 the conflicts of men who have been corrupted in mind and deprived of truth, who consider profit to be piety.	5 ciągłe spory ludzi o wypaczonym umyśle i którym brak prawdy - ludzi, którzy uważają, że pobożność jest źródłem zysku.
6 But piety with sufficiency is great gain.	6 Wielkim zaś zyskiem jest pobożność wraz z poprzestawaniem na tym, co wystarczy.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and there is no doubt that we can take nothing away.	7 Nic bowiem nie przynieśliśmy na ten świat; nic też nie możemy [z niego] wynieść.
8 But, having nourishment and some kind of covering, we should be content with these.	8 Mając natomiast żywność i odzienie, i dach nad głową, bądźmy z tego zadowoleni!
9 For those who want to become rich fall into temptation and into the snare of the devil and into many useless and harmful desires, which submerge men in destruction and in perdition.	9 A ci, którzy chcą się bogacić, wpadają w pokusę i w zasadzkę oraz w liczne nierozumne i szkodliwe pożądania. One to pogrążają ludzi w zgubę i zatracenie.
10 For desire is the root of all evils. Some persons, hungering in this way, have strayed from the faith and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.	10 Albowiem korzeniem wszelkiego zła jest chciwość pieniędzy. Za nimi to uganiając się, niektórzy zabłąkali się z dala od wiary i siebie samych przeszyli wielu boleściami.
11 But you, O man of God, flee from these things, and truly pursue justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness.	11 Ty natomiast, o człowiecze Boży, uciekaj od tego rodzaju rzeczy, a podążaj za sprawiedliwością, pobożnością, wiarą, miłością, wytrwałością, łagodnością!
12 Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you have been called, and make a good profession of faith in the sight of many witnesses.	12 Walcz w dobrych zawodach o wiarę, zdobądź życie wieczne: do niego zostałeś powołany i [o nim] złożyłeś dobre wyznanie wobec wielu świadków.
13 I charge you, in the sight of God, who enlivens all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who gave the testimony of a good profession under Pontius Pilate,	13 Nakazuję w obliczu Boga, który ożywia wszystko, i Chrystusa Jezusa - Tego, który złożył dobre wyznanie za Poncjusza Piłata -
14 to observe the commandment, immaculately, irreproachably, unto the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.	14 ażebyś zachował przykazanie nieskalane, bez zarzutu aż do objawienia się naszego Pana, Jezusa Chrystusa.
15 For at the proper time, he shall reveal the blessed and only Power, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,	15 Ukaże je, we właściwym czasie, błogosławiony i jedyny Władca, Król królujących i Pan panujących,
16 who alone holds immortality, and who inhabits the inaccessible light, whom no man has seen, nor even is able to see, to whom is honor and everlasting dominion. Amen.	16 jedyny, mający nieśmiertelność, który zamieszkuje światłość niedostępną, którego żaden z ludzi nie widział ani nie może zobaczyć: Jemu cześć i moc wiekuista! Amen.
17 Instruct the wealthy of this age not to have a superior attitude, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who offers us everything in abundance to enjoy,	17 Bogatym na tym świecie nakazuj, by nie byli wyniośli, nie pokładali nadziei w niepewności bogactwa, lecz w Bogu, który nam wszystkiego obficie udziela do używania,
18 and to do good, to become rich in good works, to donate readily, to share,	18 niech czynią dobrze, bogacą się w dobre czyny, niech będą hojni, uspołecznieni,
19 to gather for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may obtain true life.	19 odkładając do skarbca dla siebie samych dobrą podstawę na przyszłość, aby osiągnęli prawdziwe życie.
20 O Timothy, guard what has been deposited with you, avoiding the voice of profane novelties and of opposing ideas, which are falsely called knowledge.	20 O, Tymoteuszu, strzeż depozytu [wiary] unikając światowej czczej gadaniny i przeciwstawnych twierdzeń rzekomej wiedzy,
21 Certain persons, promising these things, have perished from the faith. May grace be with you. Amen.	21 jaką obiecując niektórzy odpadli od wiary. Łaska z wami!
