1 Timothy 6

1 Whoever are servants under the yoke, let them consider their masters to be worthy of every honor, lest the name and doctrine of the Lord be blasphemed.	1 Quelli che son sotto il giogo servi, pensino di fare ogni onore al loro signore; chè il nome di Cristo non sia biastemato e la sua dottrina.
2 But those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers, but rather serve them all the more because they are believing and beloved, participants of the same service. Teach and exhort these things.	2 Ma quelli che hanno li loro signori fedeli (e cristiani), non li abbiano però in contento; anzi maggiormente servano a coloro che son fedeli, operatori del bene, e partefici del beneficio. Queste cose ammaestra, e conforta che si facciano.
3 If anyone teaches otherwise, and does not consent to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to that doctrine which is in accord with piety,	3 E se alcuno ammaestrarà in altra guisa, e non crederà alle salutari parole del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, e a quella dottrina ch' è secondo pietà;
4 then he is arrogant, knowing nothing, yet languishing amid the questions and quarrels of words. From these arise envy, contention, blasphemy, evil suspicions:	4 quello è superbo, e non sa nulla; ma è infermato intorno alle questioni e alle battaglie delle parole; delle quali questioni nascono le invidie, contenzioni e biasteme e mali pensieri,
5 the conflicts of men who have been corrupted in mind and deprived of truth, who consider profit to be piety.	5 e (specialmente) le conflittazioni delli uomini corruttori delle menti, di quelli uomini che son (partiti) privati della verità, e pensano che la pietà sia per guadagno.
6 But piety with sufficiency is great gain.	6 Ma la pietà è grande guadagno con la sufficienza.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and there is no doubt that we can take nothing away.	7 Niuna cosa adducemmo in questo mondo; e senza dubbio niente ne potremo portare.
8 But, having nourishment and some kind of covering, we should be content with these.	8 Dunque abiendo vitto e vestimento, di queste cose siamo contenti.
9 For those who want to become rich fall into temptation and into the snare of the devil and into many useless and harmful desires, which submerge men in destruction and in perdition.	9 Chè quelli che vogliono diventare ricchi caggiono in tentazione, e in laccio del diavolo, e in molti desiderii inutili e nocevoli, li quali menano l'uomo in perdizione e in mala morte.
10 For desire is the root of all evils. Some persons, hungering in this way, have strayed from the faith and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.	10 La radice di ogni male è la cupidità, la qual alquanti dimandandola, son errati dalla fede, e son entrati in molti dolori.
11 But you, O man of God, flee from these things, and truly pursue justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness.	11 Ma tu, uomo di Dio, fuggi da queste cose, e sèguita la giustizia, la pietà e la fede, e la carità e la pazienza e la mansuetudine.
12 Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you have been called, and make a good profession of faith in the sight of many witnesses.	12 Combatti buono combattimento per la fede, e piglia la vita eternale, nella quale tu se' chiamato, e ha'la confessata di buona confessione dinanzi a molti testimonii.
13 I charge you, in the sight of God, who enlivens all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who gave the testimony of a good profession under Pontius Pilate,	13 Comandoti dinanzi a Dio, il quale fa vivere tutte le cose, e dinanzi a Cristo Iesù, il quale rendette testimonianza sotto Ponzio Pilato, di buona confessione,
14 to observe the commandment, immaculately, irreproachably, unto the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.	14 che tu servi il comandamento senza macula, che non si possa riprendere, insino all' avvenimento del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo;
15 For at the proper time, he shall reveal the blessed and only Power, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,	15 il quale ne' suoi tempi si dimostrarà potente, solo e beato, re de' re, e signore de' signori;
16 who alone holds immortality, and who inhabits the inaccessible light, whom no man has seen, nor even is able to see, to whom is honor and everlasting dominion. Amen.	16 il quale solo non ha mortalità in sè, e abita nella luce nella qual non si può altri approssimare (nè andare), nè non lo vidde ancora niuno degli uomini, nè non lo può vedere; al qual Dio sia (gloria e) onore e imperio sempiternalmente (nel secolo de' secoli). Amen.
17 Instruct the wealthy of this age not to have a superior attitude, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who offers us everything in abundance to enjoy,	17 Comanda alli ricchi di questo secolo, che non sentano (nelle grandi cose, nè) in grande altezza, e che non abbiano speranza in quelle ricchezze che non son certe nè ferme; anzi abbiano speranza in Dio vivo, il quale dà a noi tutte le cose abbondevolmente a usare (e a ben fare).
18 and to do good, to become rich in good works, to donate readily, to share,	18 E confortali a ben fare, che si studiino d'essere ricchi di buone opere, e che largamente donino (per Dio le cose temporali), e di fare convivali le cose loro,
19 to gather for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may obtain true life.	19 e che si guadagnino buono fondamento nella fine, sì che possano pervenire alla vera vita.
20 O Timothy, guard what has been deposited with you, avoiding the voice of profane novelties and of opposing ideas, which are falsely called knowledge.	20 O Timoteo, guarda il deposito (della grazia che è in te), e schifa le escomunicate novità delle voci, e gli apponimenti del falso nome di scienza,
21 Certain persons, promising these things, have perished from the faith. May grace be with you. Amen.	21 il quale alquanti promettenti cascarono circa alla fede. La grazia (del Signore Iesù Cristo) sia teco. Amen.
