1 Now there were, in the Church at Antioch, prophets and teachers, among whom were Barnabas, and Simon, who was called the Black, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen, who was the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.	1 Il y avait dans l'église d'Antioche des prophètes et des docteurs, parmi lesquels étaient Barnabé, Simon qu'on appelait le Noir, Lucius le Cyrénéen, Manahen, frère de lait d'Hérode le tétrarque, et Saul.
2 Now as they were ministering for the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said to them: “Separate Saul and Barnabas for me, for the work for which I have selected them.”	2 Or pendant qu'ils célébraient le culte du Seigneur et qu'ils jeûnaient, l'Esprit-Saint leur dit: Séparez-Moi Saul et Barnabé, pour l'oeuvre à laquelle Je les ai appelés.
3 Then, fasting and praying and imposing their hands upon them, they sent them away.	3 Alors, après avoir jeûné et prié, ils leur imposèrent les mains et les laissèrent partir.
4 And having been sent by the Holy Spirit, they went to Seleucia. And from there they sailed to Cyprus.	4 Et eux, envoyés par l'Esprit-Saint, allèrent à Séleucie, et de là ils naviguèrent vers Chypre.
5 And when they had arrived at Salamis, they were preaching the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they also had John in the ministry.	5 Lorsqu'ils furent arrivés à Salamine, ils prêchaient la parole de Dieu dans les synagogues des Juifs; ils avaient aussi Jean pour les aider.
6 And when they had traveled throughout the entire island, even to Paphos, they found a certain man, a magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-Jesu.	6 Lorsqu'ils eurent parcouru toute l'île jusqu'à Paphos, ils trouvèrent un certain magicien, faux prophète, Juif, dont le nom était Barjésus;
7 And he was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. This man, summoning Barnabas and Saul, wanted to hear the Word of God.	7 il était avec le proconsul Sergius Paulus, homme sage. Celui-ci, ayant fait venir Barnabé et Saul, désirait entendre la parole de Dieu.
8 But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) stood against them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the Faith.	8 Mais Elymas le magicien (car c'est ainsi que se traduit son nom) leur résistait, cherchant à détourner le proconsul de la foi.
9 Then Saul, who is also called Paul, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him,	9 Alors Saul, qui est aussi appelé Paul, rempli de l'Esprit-Saint, le regardant fixement,
10 and he said: “So full of every deceit and of all falsehoods, son of the devil, enemy of all justice, you never cease to subvert the righteous ways of the Lord!	10 dit: O homme plein de toute astuce et de toute fourberie, fils du diable, ennemi de toute justice, tu ne cesses de pervertir les voies droites du Seigneur.
11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you. And you will be blinded, not seeing the sun for a length of time.” And immediately a fog and a darkness fell over him. And wandering around, he was seeking someone who might lead him by the hand.	11 Et maintenant voici que la main du Seigneur est sur toi; et tu seras aveugle, ne voyant pas le soleil jusqu'à un certain temps. Aussitôt l'obscurité et les ténèbres tombèrent sur lui, et tournant de tous côtés, il cherchait quelqu'un qui lui donnât la main.
12 Then the proconsul, when he had seen what was done, believed, being in wonder over the doctrine of the Lord.	12 Alors le proconsul, ayant vu ce qui était arrivé, devint croyant, et il admirait la doctrine du Seigneur.
13 And when Paul and those who were with him had sailed from Paphos, they arrived at Perga in Pamphylia. Then John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.	13 Paul et ceux qui étaient avec lui, s'étant embarqués à Paphos, vinrent à Pergé en Pamphylie; mais Jean, se séparant d'eux, revint à Jérusalem.
14 Yet truly, they, traveling on from Perga, arrived at Antioch in Pisidia. And upon entering the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sat down.	14 Pour eux, passant au delà de Pergé, ils vinrent à Antioche de Pisidie; et étant entrés dans la synagogue le jour du sabbat, ils s'assirent.
15 Then, after the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent to them, saying: “Noble brothers, if there is in you any word of exhortation to the people, speak.”	15 Après la lecture de la loi et des prophètes, les chefs de la synagogue leur envoyèrent dire: Frères, si vous avez quelque exhortation à faire au peuple, parlez.
16 Then Paul, rising up and motioning for silence with his hand, said: “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen closely.	16 Alors Paul, se levant, et ayant fait signe de la main pour demander le silence, dit: Hommes d'Israël, et vous qui craignez Dieu, écoutez.
17 The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people, when they were settlers in the land of Egypt. And with an exalted arm, he led them away from there.	17 Le Dieu du peuple d'Israël a choisi nos pères, et Il a exalté le peuple lorsqu'ils demeuraient comme étrangers dans le pays d'Egypte; puis Il les en a fait sortir à bras étendu.
18 And throughout a time of forty years, he endured their behavior in the desert.	18 Et pendant l'espace de quarante ans, Il a supporté leur conduite dans le désert.
19 And by destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land among them by lot,	19 Puis ayant détruit sept nations dans le pays de Chanaan, Il leur en distribua au sort le territoire,
20 after about four hundred and fifty years. And after these things, he gave them judges, even until the prophet Samuel.	20 après environ quatre cent cinquante ans. Ensuite Il leur donna des juges, jusqu'au prophète Samuel.
21 And later on, they petitioned for a king. And God gave them Saul, the son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.	21 Alors ils demandèrent un roi; et Dieu leur donna Saül, fils de Cis, homme de la tribut de Benjamin, pendant quarante ans.
22 And having removed him, he raised up for them king David. And offering testimony about him, he said, ‘I have found David, the son of Jesse, to be a man according to my own heart, who will accomplish all that I will.’	22 Puis l'ayant mis à l'écart, Il leur suscita pour roi David, à qui Il a rendu témoignage, en disant: J'ai trouvé David, fils de Jessé, homme selon Mon coeur, qui fera toutes Mes volontés.
23 From his offspring, according to the Promise, God has brought Jesus the Savior to Israel.	23 C'est de sa race que Dieu, selon Sa promesse, a fait sortir un Sauveur pour Israël, Jésus;
24 John was preaching, before the face of his advent, a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.	24 Jean ayant prêché, avant Sa venue, le baptême de pénitence à tout le peuple d'Israël.
25 Then, when John completed his course, he was saying: ‘I am not the one you consider me to be. For behold, one arrives after me, the shoes of whose feet I am not worthy to loosen.’	25 Et lorsque Jean achevait sa course, il disait: Je ne suis pas Celui que vous pensez; mais voici que vient après moi Celui dont je ne suis pas digne de délier les sandales.
26 Noble brothers, sons of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, it is to you the Word of this salvation has been sent.	26 Mes frères, fils de la race d'Abraham, et ceux qui parmi vous craignent Dieu, c'est à vous que cette parole de salut a été envoyée.
27 For those who were living in Jerusalem, and its rulers, heeding neither him, nor the voices of the Prophets that are read on every Sabbath, fulfilled these by judging him.	27 Car les habitants de Jérusalem et leurs princes, L'ayant méconnu, ont accompli, en Le condamnant, les paroles des prophètes qui sont lues chaque sabbat;
28 And although they found no case for death against him, they petitioned Pilate, so that they might put him to death.	28 et ne trouvant rien en Lui qui fût digne de mort, ils demandèrent à Pilate de Le faire mourir.
29 And when they had fulfilled everything that had been written about him, taking him down from the tree, they placed him in a tomb.	29 Et lorsqu'ils eurent consommé tout ce qui avait été écrit de Lui, il Le descendirent du bois et Le déposèrent dans un tombeau.
30 Yet truly, God raised him up from the dead on the third day.	30 Mais Dieu L'a ressuscité des morts le troisième jour; et Il a été vu, durant des jours nombreux, par ceux
31 And he was seen for many days by those who went up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who even now are his witnesses to the people.	31 qui étaient montés avec Lui de la Galilée à Jérusalem, et qui maintenant encore sont Ses témoins devant le peuple.
32 And we are announcing to you that the Promise, which was made to our fathers,	32 Nous aussi, nous vous annonçons la promesse qui a été faite à nos pères;
33 has been fulfilled by God for our children by raising up Jesus, just as it has been written in the second Psalm also: ‘You are my Son. This day I have begotten you.’	33 car Dieu l'a accomplie pour nos fils, en ressuscitant Jésus, ainsi qu'il est écrit dans le second psaume: Tu est Mon fils; aujourd'hui Je T'ai engendré.
34 Now, since he raised him from the dead, so as to no longer return to corruption, he has said this: ‘I will give to you the holy things of David, the faithful one.’	34 Et parce qu'Il L'a ressuscité d'entre les morts, pour qu'Il ne retournât plus dans la corruption, Il a parlé ainsi: Je tiendrai fidèlement pour Vous les saintes promesses faites à David.
35 And also then, in another place, he says: ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see corruption.’	35 Et Il dit encore ailleurs: Vous ne permettrez pas que Votre Saint voie la corruption.
36 For David, when he had ministered to his generation in accordance with the will of God, fell asleep, and he was placed next to his fathers, and he saw corruption.	36 Car David, après avoir servi en son temps aux desseins de Dieu, s'est endormi, et a été déposé près de ses pères, et il a vu la corruption.
37 Yet truly, he whom God has raised from the dead has not seen corruption.	37 Mais Celui que Dieu a ressuscité d'entre les morts n'a pas vu la corruption.
38 Therefore, let it be known to you, noble brothers, that through him is announced to you remission from sins and from everything by which you were not able to be justified in the law of Moses.	38 Sachez donc, mes frères, que par Lui la rémission des péchés vous est annoncée; et tout ce dont vous n'avez pu être justifiés par la loi de Moïse,
39 In him, all who believe are justified.	39 quiconque croit en est justifié par Lui.
40 Therefore, be careful, lest what was said by the Prophets may overwhelm you:	40 Prenez donc garde qu'il ne vous arrive ce qui a été dit par les prophètes:
41 ‘You despisers! Look, and wonder, and be scattered! For I am working a deed in your days, a deed which you would not believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.’ ”	41 Voyez, contempteurs, soyez étonnés et disparaissez; car J'accomplis une oeuvre en vos jours, une oeuvre que vous ne croirez pas si quelqu'un vous la raconte.
42 Then, as they were departing, they asked them if, on the following Sabbath, they might speak these words to them.	42 Lorsqu'ils sortaient, on les pria de parler sur le même sujet le sabbat suivant.
43 And when the synagogue had been dismissed, many among the Jews and the new worshipers were following Paul and Barnabas. And they, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.	43 Et quand l'assemblée fut séparée, beaucoup de Juifs et d'étrangers craignant Dieu suivirent Paul et Barnabé, qui, prenant la parole, les exhortaient à persévérer dans la grâce de Dieu.
44 Yet truly, on the following Sabbath, nearly the entire city came together to hear the Word of God.	44 Le sabbat suivant, presque toute la ville se réunit pour entendre la parole de Dieu.
45 Then the Jews, seeing the crowds, were filled with envy, and they, blaspheming, contradicted the things that were being said by Paul.	45 Mais les Juifs, voyant cette foule, furent remplies de jalousie, et ils contredisaient, en blasphémant, ce que Paul disait.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas said firmly: “It was necessary to speak the Word of God first to you. But because you reject it, and so judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.	46 Alors Paul et Barnabé dirent hardiment: C'est à vous d'abord qu'il fallait annoncer la parole de Dieu; mais puisque vous la rejetez, et que vous vous jugez indignes de la vie éternelle, voici que nous nous tournons vers les gentils.
47 For so has the Lord instructed us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”	47 Car le Seigneur nous l'a ainsi ordonné: Je t'ai établi pour être la lumière des nations, afin que tu sois le salut jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre.
48 Then the Gentiles, upon hearing this, were gladdened, and they were glorifying the Word of the Lord. And as many as believed were preordained to eternal life.	48 Entendant cela, les gentils se réjouirent, et ils glorifiaient la parole du Seigneur; et tous ceux qui avaient été prédestinés à la vie éternelle devinrent croyants.
49 Now the word of the Lord was disseminated throughout the entire region.	49 Ainsi la parole du Seigneur se répandait dans toute la contrée.
50 But the Jews incited some devout and honest women, and the leaders of the city. And they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas. And they drove them away from their parts.	50 Mais les Juifs soulevèrent les femmes pieuses et de distinction, et les principaux de la ville, et excitèrent une persécution contre Paul et Barnabé, et les chassèrent de leur territoire.
51 But they, shaking the dust from their feet against them, went on to Iconium.	51 Mais ceux-ci, ayant secoué contre eux la poussière de leurs pieds, vinrent à Iconium.
52 The disciples were likewise filled with gladness and with the Holy Spirit.	52 Cependant, les disciples étaient remplis de joie et de l'Esprit-Saint.
