And the angel who had been speaking with me returned, and he awakened me, like a man who is awakened from his sleep.1 O anjo que falava comigo voltou e despertou-me, como a um homem a quem despertam do seu sono.
And he said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I looked, and behold, a candlestick entirely in gold, and its lamp was at its top, and seven oil lamps of it were upon it, and there were seven funnels for the oil lamps that were at its top.2 Perguntou-me: Que vês tu? Respondi: Vejo um candeeiro todo de ouro, que tem um depósito no alto, sete lâmpadas sobre os seus braços e sete canais para (fazer correr o azeite para) as lâmpadas que estão no alto do candeeiro.
And there were two olive trees upon it: one to the right of the lamp, and one to its left.”3 Há também por cima dele duas oliveiras: uma à direita do depósito e outra à sua esquerda.
And I answered and spoke to the angel who was speaking with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?”4 Então retomei a palavra e disse ao anjo que falava comigo: Meu Senhor, que quer isto dizer?
And the angel who was speaking with me answered, and he said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.”5 O anjo que falava comigo respondeu: Não sabes o que isto é? Respondi: Não, meu Senhor.
And he answered and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying: Not by an army, nor by might, but in my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.6 Então ele explicou: Esta é a palavra que o Senhor dirige a Zorobabel: Nem por meio dum exército, nem pela força, mas sim pelo meu Espírito, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.
What are you, great mountain, in the sight of Zerubbabel? You are among the plains. And he will lead out the primary stone, and he will give equal grace to its grace.7 Quem és tu, ó grande monte (de dificuldades)? Diante de Zorobabel, torna-te uma planície. Ele porá a pedra de remate, em meio de aclamações: Graça, graça a ela!
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:8 Foi-me dirigida a palavra do Senhor, nestes termos:
The hand of Zerubbabel has founded this house, and his hands will complete it. And you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.9 As mãos de Zorobabel puseram os fundamentos desta casa, as suas mãos a hão-de acabar. Assim saberás que o Senhor dos exércitos me enviou a vós.
For who has despised the little days? And they will rejoice and will see the silver and lead stone in the hand of Zerubbabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, which roam quickly through all the earth.10 Porque, quem desprezaria este dia de pequenas coisas? Alegrar-se-ão quando virem o fio de prumo na mão de Zorobabel. Estes sete olhos são os olhos do Senhor, que discorrem por toda a terra.
And I responded and said to him, “What are these two olive trees to the right of the candlestick, and to its left?”11 Retomei a palavra e disse-lhe: Que significam estas duas oliveiras, uma à direita do candeeiro, e outra à sua esquerda?
And I responded a second time and said to him, “What are the two olive branches, which are next to the two golden ridges, in which are the pouring spouts of gold?”12 De novo interroguei: Que significam estes dois ramos de oliveira, que, por dois tubos de ouro, deixam correr o ouro (isto é, azeite dourado)?
And he spoke to me, saying, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.”13 Ele respondeu-me: Não sabes o que Isto significa? Eu disse; Não, meu Senhor.
And he said, “These are the two sons of oil, who attend before the Sovereign of all the earth.”14 Ele explicou: Estas duas oliveiras são os dois ungidos que assistem diante do Senhor de toda a terra (como seus ministros).
