1 Assemble, be gathered together, O people not worthy to be loved.	1 Vinde todos, Juntai-vos (ó Israelitas), nação despudorada,
2 Until the decree settles accounts, the day like dust is passing away, before which the wrath of the fury of the Lord may overcome you, before which the day of the anger of the Lord may overcome you.	2 antes que o decreto (do Senhor) produza esse dia que passará como (um turbilhão de) pó, antes que venha sobre vós a ira do furor do Senhor, antes que venha sobre vós o dia da indignação do Senhor.
3 Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth; you who have been working are his judgment. Seek the just, seek the meek. So then, in some way, you might be hidden in the day of the fury of the Lord.	3 Buscai o Senhor todos vós, os humildes nesta terra, vós os que guardais os seus preceitos; buscai a justiça, buscai a mansidão, para ver se podeis achar um abrigo no dia do furor do Senhor.
4 For Gaza will be destroyed, and Ashkelon will be in the desert; they will expel Ashdod at midday, and Ekron will be eradicated.	4 Com efeito, Gaza será abandonada e Ascalon virá a ser um deserto. Azot será assolada em pleno meio-dia, e Acaron arrancada pela raiz.
5 Woe to you who inhabit the coast of the sea, you people of perdition. The word of the Lord is over you, Canaan, the land of the Philistines, and I will disperse you, so that not one inhabitant will be left.	5 Ai de vós, os que habitais a costa do mar, ai do povo dos cretenses! Canaan, terra, dos Filisteus, uma palavra do Senhor está para cair sobre vós: Exterminar-te-ei, sem que fique um só dos teus habitantes.
6 And the coastline of the sea will be a resting place for shepherds and a fence line for cattle.	6 A costa do mar será então lugar de repouso para os pastores e aprisco para as ovelhas.
7 And it will be the line of him who will remain from the house of Judah. There they will pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon, they will rest towards evening. For the Lord their God will visit them, and he will turn away their captivity.	7 Esta região será daqueles que tiverem ficado da casa de Judá; eles encontrarão pastagens e descansarão durante a noite nas casas de Ascalon, porque o Senhor seu Deus os visitará e os restaurará.
8 I have heard about the disgrace of Moab and the blasphemies of the sons of Ammon, by which they have defamed my people and have been magnified beyond their borders.	8 Ouvi as afrontas de Moab e os insultos dos filhos de Amon, que ultrajaram o meu povo e se ensoberbeceram com o seu território.
9 Because of this, as I live, says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Moab will be like Sodom, and the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah, like the dryness of thorns, and piles of salt, and a desert, all the way to eternity. The remnant of my people will despoil them, and the residue of my nation will possess them.	9 Por isso, juro por vida minha, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel, que Moab virá a ser como Sodoma, e os filhos de Amon como Gomorra: lugar de urtigas, região de sal, um deserto eterno. Os restos do meu povo os saquearão, os que restarem da minha gente serão os seus donos.
10 This will come upon them for their arrogance, because they have blasphemed and have been magnified over the people of the Lord of hosts.	10 Isto lhes há-de acontecer por castigo da sua soberba, porque insultaram e trataram com arrogância o povo do Senhor dos exércitos.
11 The Lord will be a horror over them, and he will reduce all the gods of the earth. And they will adore him, each man from his own place, all the islands of the Gentiles.	11 O Senhor se mostrará terrível contra eles, e aniquilará todos os deuses da terra. E adorá-lo-ão, cada um no seu país, todos os habitantes das ilhas das nações.
12 Even so, you Ethiopians, you will be executed by my sword.	12 Também vós, ó Etíopes, sereis mortos pela minha espada.
13 And he will extend his hand over the North, and he will destroy Assur. And he will set the Beautiful in the wilderness, and in an impassable place, and like a desert.	13 Estenderá a sua mão contra o aquilão, destruirá Assur, reduzirá Nínive a uma solidão, árida como um deserto.
14 And flocks will lie down in its midst, all the beasts of the Gentiles. And the pelican and the hedgehog will stay at its threshold; the voice of the singing bird will be at the window, with the crow above its threshold, for I will diminish her strength.	14 Rebanhos descansarão no meio dela, e bandos de animais de toda a espécie; o pelicano e o ouriço terão por morada os seus capitéis; ouvir-se-á o canto das aves por cima das janelas, o corvo por cima das portas, porque aniquilarei a cidade.
15 This is the glorious city, dwelling in trust, which said in her heart, “I am and there is no one other than me.” How has she become a lair for beasts in the desert? All who pass through her will hiss and wag their hand.	15 Esta é aquela cidade alegre, que nada temia, que dizia no seu coração: Eu, e nada mais senão eu! Como se mudou ela num deserto, num covil de feras? Todo o que passar por ela, insultá-la-á com assobios e agitará a mão (em sinal de desprezo).
