1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 La parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes :
2 “Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and you shall prophesy against them,	2 Fils de (d'un) l'homme, tourne ton visage vers les montagnes d'Israël, et prophétise contre elles,
3 and you shall say: O mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and hills and cliffs and valleys: Behold, I will lead over you the sword. And I will destroy your exalted places.	3 et dis : Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Dieu. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu aux montagnes et aux collines, aux roche(r)s et aux vallées : Voici que je ferai venir l'épée sur vous, et je détruirai vos hauts lieux,
4 And I will demolish your altars. And your graven images will be broken apart. And I will throw down your slain before your idols.	4 j'abattrai vos autels, et vos statues (simulacres) seront brisées, et je ferai tomber vos morts devant vos idoles ;
5 And I will lay the dead bodies of the sons of Israel before the face of your idols. And I will scatter your bones around your altars.	5 je mettrai les cadavres des enfants d'Israël devant vos statues (simulacres), et je disperserai vos os autour de vos autels ;
6 In all of your habitations, the cities will be made desolate, and the exalted places will be torn down and scattered. And your altars will be broken and destroyed. And your idols will cease to exist. And your shrines will be crushed. And your works will be wiped away.	6 dans tous les pays où vous habitez les villes seront désertes, les hauts lieux seront détruits et renversés, vos autels tomberont et seront brisés, vos idoles disparaîtront, vos temples seront abattus, et vos ouvrages seront anéantis,
7 And the slain will fall in your midst. And you shall know that I am the Lord.	7 et les morts tomberont au milieu de vous, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.
8 And I will leave among you those who will escape the sword among the Gentiles, when I will have dispersed you upon the earth.	8 J'en laisserai quelques-uns d'entre vous qui auront échappé au glaive, parmi les nations, lorsque je vous aurai dispersés à travers les contrées ;
9 And your liberated shall remember me among the nations to which they were led away as captives. For I have crushed their heart, which fornicated and withdrew from me, and their eyes, which fornicated after their idols. And they will be displeased with themselves over the evils that they have done by all their abominations.	9 et ceux d'entre vous qui auront été délivrés se souviendront de moi parmi les nations où ils auront été emmenés captifs, parce que j'aurai brisé leur cœur adultère et apostat, et leurs yeux qui s'étaient prostitués après leurs idoles ; et ils se déplairont à eux-mêmes, à cause des maux qu'ils auront faits dans (toutes) leurs abominations ;
10 And they shall know that I, the Lord, have not spoken in vain, that I would do this evil to them.”	10 et ils sauront que moi, le Seigneur, je ne les ai pas menacés en vain de leur faire ces maux.
11 Thus says the Lord God: “Strike with your hand, and stomp with your foot, and say: ‘Alas, to all the abominations of the evils of the house of Israel!’ For they will fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.	11 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Frappe de la main et bats du pied, et dis : Hélas ! à cause de (Malheur sur) toutes les (mauvaises) abominations de la maison d'Israël, car ils tomberont par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste.
12 Whoever is far away will die of pestilence. But whoever is near will fall by the sword. And whoever remains and is besieged will die by famine. And I will fulfill my indignation among them.	12 Celui qui est loin mourra de la peste ; celui qui est près tombera par l'épée ; celui qui sera resté et qui sera assiégé mourra par la faim, et j'assouvirai mon indignation sur eux.
13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when your slain will be in the midst of your idols, all around your altars, on every exalted hill, and on the summits of all the mountains, and under every dense tree, and under every leafy oak: the places where they burned sweet-smelling incense to all their idols.	13 Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque vos morts seront au milieu de vos idoles, autour de vos autels, sur toute colline élevée, et sur tous les sommets des montagnes, et sous tout arbre vert, et sous tout chêne touffu, là où ils ont brûlé l'encens odorant pour (toutes) leurs idoles.
14 And I will extend my hand over them. And I will make the earth desolate and destitute: from the desert of Riblah to all their dwelling places. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”	14 J'étendrai ma main sur eux, et je rendrai la terre désolée et abandonnée, depuis le désert de Déblatha, dans tous les lieux où ils habitent, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
