Leviticus 12

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 Der Herr sprach zu Moses:
2 Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: A woman, if she has received the seed to bear a male, shall be unclean for seven days, just as in the days of separation due to menstruation.	2 "Rede zu den Israeliten, wie folgt: Wenn eine Frau empfängt und einen Knaben gebiert, so ist sie sieben Tage unrein, genau wie in der Zeit ihrer Unreinheit infolge ihres Monatsflusses.
3 And on the eighth day, the little infant shall be circumcised.	3 Am achten Tage aber ist des Knaben Vorhaut zu beschneiden.
4 Yet truly, she herself shall remain for thirty-three days in the blood of her purification. She shall not touch anything holy, nor shall she enter into the Sanctuary, until the days of her purification are completed.	4 Dreiunddreißig Tage lang muß sie im Reinigungsblut zu Hause bleiben; sie darf nichts Heiliges berühren und nicht ins Heiligtum kommen, bis die Zeit ihrer Reinigung zu Ende ist.
5 But if she will bear a female, she shall be unclean for two weeks, according to the custom of her monthly flow, and she shall remain in the blood of her purification for sixty-six days.	5 Gebiert sie aber ein Mädchen, dann bleibt sie zwei Wochen unrein wie bei ihrer monatlichen Unreinheit und muß sechsundsechzig Tage in ihrem Reinigungsblut bleiben.
6 And when the days of her purification have been completed, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, a one-year-old lamb as a holocaust, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for sin, and she shall deliver them to the priest.	6 Wenn aber die Zeit ihrer Reinigung vorüber ist - mag es sich um einen Sohn oder eine Tochter handeln -, soll sie ein einjähriges Lamm zum Brandopfer und eine junge Taube oder Turteltaube zum Sündopfer an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes zum Priester bringen.
7 He shall offer them in the sight of the Lord, and he shall pray for her. And so she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for one who bears a male or a female.	7 Dieser bringe es vor dem Herrn dar und schaffe ihr Sühne, und so wird sie von ihrem Blutfluß rein. Das ist das Gesetz für die Wöchnerin, sei es bei einem Knaben oder bei einem Mädchen.
8 And if her hand has not obtained or been able to offer a lamb, she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons: one as a holocaust, and the other for sin. And the priest shall pray for her, and so she shall be cleansed.	8 Wenn sie aber zur Beschaffung eines Lammes zu arm ist, so nehme sie zwei Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben, die eine zum Brandopfer, die andere zum Sündopfer; der Priester schaffe Sühne für sie, so wird sie rein."
