Rise up, Rise up! Clothe yourself in strength, O Zion! Put on the garments of your glory, O Jerusalem, the city of the Holy One! For the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer pass through you.1 ¡Despierta, despierta, | vístete de tu fuerza, Sión; | vístete el traje de gala, Jerusalén, | ciudad santa!, | porque no volverán a entrar en ti | incircuncisos ni impuros.
Shake yourself from the dust! Arise and sit up, O Jerusalem! Loose the chains from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!2 Sacúdete el polvo, | ponte en pie, Jerusalén cautiva; | desata las cuerdas de tu cuello, | Sión cautiva.
For thus says the Lord: You were sold for nothing, and you will be redeemed without money.3 Porque esto dice el Señor: | «Por nada fuisteis vendidos, | sin precio seréis rescatados».
For thus says the Lord God: My people descended into Egypt, in the beginning, in order to sojourn there. But the Assyrian oppressed them, without any cause at all.4 Porque esto dice el Señor, Dios: | «Al principio mi pueblo emigró a Egipto | para habitar allí como extranjero. | Sin motivo lo oprimió Asiria.
And now, what is left for me here, says the Lord? For my people have been taken away without cause. Their lords treat them unjustly, says the Lord. And my name is being continually blasphemed all day long.5 Pero ahora, ¿qué hago yo aquí? | —oráculo del Señor—. | Se han llevado a mi pueblo por nada, | sus opresores dan gritos de triunfo | —oráculo del Señor— | y ultrajan mi nombre sin cesar.
Because of this, my people will know my name, in that day. For it is I myself who is speaking. Behold, I am here.6 Por eso, mi pueblo reconocerá mi nombre. | Un día sabrá que era yo | quien decía “Estoy aquí”».
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger and the preacher of peace! Announcing good and preaching peace, they are saying to Zion, “Your God will reign!”7 Qué hermosos son sobre los montes | los pies del mensajero que proclama la paz, | que anuncia la buena noticia, | que pregona la justicia, | que dice a Sión: «¡Tu Dios reina!».
It is the voice of your watchmen. They have lifted up their voice. They will praise together. For they will see eye to eye, when the Lord converts Zion.8 Escucha: tus vigías gritan, cantan a coro, | porque ven cara a cara al Señor, | que vuelve a Sión.
Be glad and rejoice together, O deserts of Jerusalem! For the Lord has consoled his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem.9 Romped a cantar a coro, | ruinas de Jerusalén, | porque el Señor ha consolado a su pueblo, | ha rescatado a Jerusalén.
The Lord has prepared his holy arm, in the sight of all the Gentiles. And all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.10 Ha descubierto el Señor su santo brazo | a los ojos de todas las naciones, | y verán los confines de la tierra | la salvación de nuestro Dios.
Depart, depart, get out of here! Do not be willing to touch what is polluted. Go out from her midst! Be cleansed, you who bear the vessels of the Lord.11 ¡Partid, partid, salid de allí! | ¡No toquéis nada impuro! | ¡Salid de ella, purificaos | los que lleváis los vasos del culto!
For you will not go out in a tumult, nor will you take flight in a hurry. For the Lord will precede you, and the God of Israel will gather you.12 No saldréis deprisa, | ni vuestra marcha será una fuga, | porque delante de vosotros marcha el Señor, | el Dios de Israel en la retaguardia.
Behold, my servant will understand; he will be exalted and lifted up, and he will be very sublime.13 Mirad, mi siervo tendrá éxito, | subirá y crecerá mucho.
Just as they were stupefied over you, so will his countenance be without glory among men, and his appearance, among the sons of men.14 Como muchos se espantaron de él | porque desfigurado no parecía hombre, | ni tenía aspecto humano,
He will sprinkle many nations; kings will close their mouth because of him. And those to whom he was not described, have seen. And those who have not heard, have considered.15 así asombrará a muchos pueblos, | ante él los reyes cerrarán la boca, | al ver algo inenarrable | y comprender algo inaudito.
