1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord will ascend upon a lofty cloud, and he will enter into Egypt, and the false images of Egypt will be moved before his face, and the heart of Egypt will waste away in its midst.	1 Oráculo sobre o Egito. Eis que o Senhor, levado sobre uma nuvem veloz, entra no Egito: os ídolos do Egito comovem-se diante da sua face, o coração do Egito mirra-se em seu peito.
2 And I will cause Egyptian to rush against Egyptian. And they will fight: a man against his brother, and a man against his friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.	2 Farei com que os Egípcios se levantem contra os Egípcios: pelejará cada um contra o seu irmão, cada um contra o seu amigo, uma cidade contra outra cidade, um reino contra outro reino.
3 And the spirit of Egypt will be ruptured to its very core. And I will cast down their plan violently. And they will seek answers from their false images, and their diviners, and those led by demons, and their seers.	3 O espírito do Egito dissipar-se-á dentro dele, e eu aniquilarei o seu conselho: eles consultarão os seus ídolos e os seus feiticeiros, os seus evocadores dos mortos e os seus adivinhos.
4 And I will deliver Egypt into the hand of cruel masters, and a strong king will dominate them, says the Lord, the God of hosts.	4 Entregarei o Egito na mão dum senhor cruel, e um rei temível os dominará, diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos.
5 And the waters of the sea will dry up, and the river will be desolate and dry.	5 As águas do mar secarão, e o rio tornar-se-á seco e árido.
6 And the rivers will fail. The streams of its banks will diminish and dry up. The reed and the bulrush will wither away.	6 As ribeiras se esgotarão, os canais do Egito diminuirão e secarão. As canas e os juncos murcharão.
7 The channel of the river will be stripped down to its source, and everything irrigated by it will dry up and wither and be no more.	7 Os prados das margens do Nilo, os campos semeados ao longo do rio, tudo secará, cairá, desaparecerá.
8 And the fishermen will grieve. And all who cast a hook into the river will mourn. And those who cast a net upon the surface of its waters will languish.	8 Ficarão desolados os pescadores, chorarão todos os que lançam anzol ao rio, ficarão consternados os que estendem redes sobre a superfície das águas.
9 Those who work with linen, combing and weaving fine textiles, will be confounded.	9 Ficarão confundidos os que trabalham em linho; os que cardam e tecem, desalentados;
10 And its irrigated places will begin to fail, with all those who make pools to take fish.	10 os tecelões, aflitos; todos os operários, desolados.
11 The leaders of Tanis are foolish. The wise counselors of Pharaoh have given foolish counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh: “I am the son of wisemen, the son of the kings of antiquity?”	11 Os príncipes de Tanis são loucos, os sábios conselheiros de Faraó dão um conselho insensato. Como ousais dizer a Faraó: Eu sou filho de sábios, filho de reis antigos?
12 Where are your wisemen now? Let them announce it to you, and let them reveal what the Lord of hosts intends for Egypt.	12 — Onde estão agora os teus sábios? Eles te anunciem e apontem o que o Senhor dos exércitos tem resolvido sobre o Egito.
13 The leaders of Tanis have become foolish. The leaders of Memphis have decayed. They have deceived Egypt, the corner of its people.	13 Loucos se tornaram os príncipes de Tanis, estão iludidos os príncipes de Mênfis; os chefes das tribos desencaminham o Egito.
14 The Lord has mixed a spirit of giddiness into its midst. And they have caused Egypt to err in all its works, like a drunken man who staggers and vomits.	14 O Senhor difundiu no meio dele um espírito de vertigem; eles fizeram errar o Egito em todas as suas obras, como erra o homem embriagado e que vomita,
15 And there will be no work for Egypt that would produce a head or a tail, one who bows down or one who refrains from bowing down.	15 O Egito está incapaz de conduzir a bom termo o que devera fazer a cabeça e a cauda, a palma e o junco.
16 In that day, Egypt will be like women, and they will be stupefied and fearful before the presence of the shaking hand of the Lord of hosts, the hand which he will move over them.	16 Naquele dia ficarão os Egípcios como (tímidas) mulheres: pasmarão e temerão diante do movimento da mão do Senhor dos exércitos, a qual descarregará contra eles.
17 And the land of Judah will be a dread to Egypt. Everyone who thinks about it will be terrified before the presence of the plan of the Lord of hosts, the plan which he has decided concerning them.	17 E tornar-se-á o terror do Egito a terra de Judá; todo o que se lembrar dela, encher-se-á de pavor, à vista dos desígnios do Senhor dos exércitos, formados contra o Egito.
18 In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt which speak the language of Canaan, and which swear by the Lord of hosts. One will be called the City of the Sun.	18 Naquele dia haverá cinco cidades na terra do Egito, que falarão a língua de Canaan e que jurarão pelo Senhor dos exércitos: Uma delas será chamada a Cidade do Sol.
19 In that day, there will be an altar of the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt and a monument of the Lord beside its borders.	19 Naquele dia haverá um altar do Senhor no meio da terra do Egito, e um monumento ao Senhor junto da sua fronteira.
20 This shall be a sign and a testimony to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt. For they will cry out to the Lord before the face of the tribulation, and he will send them a savior and a defender who will free them.	20 Isto servirá de sinal e de testemunho ao Senhor dos exércitos na terra do Egito; quando clamarem ao Senhor, à vista daqueles que os atribulam, ele lhes enviará um salvador e um defensor que os livre.
21 And the Lord will be acknowledged by Egypt, and the Egyptians will recognize the Lord in that day, and they will worship him with sacrifices and gifts. And they will make vows to the Lord, and they will fulfill them.	21 O Senhor será conhecido pelo Egito, e os Egípcios conhecerão o Senhor naquele dia, honrá-lo-ão com hóstias e ofertas, farão ao Senhor votos e cumpri-los-ão.
22 And the Lord will strike Egypt with a scourge, and he will heal them. And they will return to the Lord. And he will be placated toward them, and he will heal them.	22 O Senhor ferirá o Egito com uma chaga e curá-la-á, e eles voltar-se-ão para o Senhor, que se lhes mostrará aplacado e os sarará.
23 In that day, there will be a way from Egypt to the Assyrians, and the Assyrian will enter into Egypt, and the Egyptian will be with the Assyrians, and the Egyptians will serve Assur.	23 Naquele dia haverá um caminho do Egito para a Assíria: os Assírios entrarão no Egito, e os Egípcios na Assíria, e os Egípcios com os Assírios servirão (o Senhor).
24 In that day, will Israel be the third to the Egyptian and the Assyrian, a blessing in the midst of the earth,	24 Naquele dia Israel unir-se-á, como terceiro, ao Egito e à Assíria, para ser uma bênção no meio da terra.
25 which the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying: Blessed be my people of Egypt, and the work of my hands for the Assyrian, but Israel is my inheritance.	25 O Senhor dos exércitos abençoá-los-á, dizendo: Bem-aventurados sejam o meu povo do Egito, o Assírio, obra de minhas mãos, e Israel, minha herança!
