1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. O Lord, you have been our refuge from generation to generation.	1 Oração. De Moisés, homem de Deus. Senhor, tu tens sido o nosso refúgio de geração em geração.
2 Before the mountains became, or the land was formed along with the world: from ages past, even to all ages, you are God.	2 Antes que os montes fossem formados, antes do nascimento da terra e do mundo, desde a eternidade e para sempre, tu és, ó Deus.
3 And, lest man be turned aside in humiliation, you have said: Be converted, O sons of men.	3 Mandas que ao pó voltem os mortais, e dizes: "Regressai, filhos dos homens."
4 For a thousand years before your eyes are like the days of yesterday, which have passed by, and they are like a watch of the night,	4 Mil anos, aos teus olhos, são como o dia de ontem; que passou, e como uma vigília da noite (que somente dura três horas).
5 which was held for nothing: so their years shall be.	5 Tu os arrebatas: são como um sonho matutino, como a erva verdejante:
6 In the morning, he may pass away like grass; in the morning, he may flower and pass away. In the evening, he will fall, and harden, and become dry.	6 de manhã floresce e verdeja, à tarde é cortada e seca.
7 For, at your wrath, we have withered away, and we have been disturbed by your fury.	7 Na verdade, somos consumidos pela tua ira, e perturbados pela tua indignação.
8 You have placed our iniquities in your sight, our age in the illumination of your countenance.	8 Puseste as nossas culpas à tua vista, os nossos pecados ocultos à luz do teu rosto.
9 For all our days have faded away, and at your wrath, we have fainted. Our years will be considered to be like a spider’s web.	9 Todos os nossos dias transcorreram na tua ira; acabamos os nossos anos como um suspiro.
10 The days of our years in them are seventy years. But in the powerful, they are eighty years, and more of these are with hardship and sorrow. For mildness has overwhelmed us, and we shall be corrected.	10 A soma dos nossos anos é setenta anos, ou, se somos robustos, oitenta; e muitos deles são trabalho e vaidade: realmente passam depressa, e voamos,
11 Who knows the power of your wrath? And, before fear, can your wrath	11 Quem pondera o poder da tua ira, e a tua indignação, conforme o temor que te é devido?
12 be numbered? So make known your right hand, along with men learned in heart, in wisdom.	12 Ensina-nos a contar os nossos dias, para que alcancemos a sabedoria do coração.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? And may you be persuaded on behalf of your servants.	13 Volta (para nós), Senhor, — até quando (te mostrarás irado)? - e sê propício para com os teus servos.
14 We were filled in the morning with your mercy, and we exulted and delighted all our days.	14 Sacia-nos depressa com a tua misericórdia, para que exultemos e nos alegremos durante todos os nossos dias.
15 We have been rejoicing, because of the days in which you humbled us, because of the years in which we saw evils.	15 Alegra-nos pelos dias em que nos afligiste, pelos anos em que vimos males.
16 Look down upon your servants and upon their works, and direct their sons.	16 Manifeste-se aos teus servos a tua obra, e a tua glória aos seus filhos,
17 And may the splendor of the Lord our God be upon us. And so, direct the works of our hands over us; direct even the work of our hands.	17 e a bondade do Senhor, nosso Deus, esteja sobre nós; favorece a obra das nossas mãos, sim, a obra das nossas mãos favorece.
