1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.	1 Salmo di Davidde. Non tener celata, o Dio, la mia lode: perocché la bocca dell'iniquo, e del traditore si è spalancata contro di me.
2 O God, do not be silent toward my praise, for the mouth of the sinner and the mouth of the deceitful one have been opened against me.	2 Han parlato contro di me con lingua bugiarda; e con discorsi spiranti il mal animo mi hanno circonvenuto, e impugnato senza cagione.
3 They have spoken against me with deceitful tongues, and they have surrounded me with hateful words, and they fought against me over nothing.	3 In vece di amarmi mi nimicavano: ma io orava.
4 Instead of choosing to act on my behalf, they detracted me. But I gave myself to prayer.	4 E rendettero a me male per bene, e odio per l'amor mio
5 And they set evil against me, instead of good, and hatred, in return for my love.	5 Sogetta colui al peccatore, e il diavolo gli stia alla destra.
6 Establish the sinner over him, and let the devil stand at his right hand.	6 Quand'egli è chiamato in giudizio n'esca condannato, e l'orazione di lui diventi un peccato.
7 When he is judged, may he go forth in condemnation, and may his prayer be counted as sin.	7 I giorni di lui siano pochi, e il suo ministero sia dato a un altro.
8 May his days be few, and let another take his episcopate.	8 Divengano orfani i suoi figliuoli, e vedova la sua moglie.
9 May his sons be orphans, and his wife a widow.	9 I suoi figliuoli errino vagabondi, e mendichino: e siano discacciati dalle loro abitazioni.
10 May his sons be carried by those who walk unsteadily, and may they go begging. And may they be cast out of their dwelling places.	10 Le sue facoltà rintracci tutte l'usuraio: e sian depredate dagli stranieri le sue fatiche.
11 May the money lenders scrutinize all his belongings, and let foreigners plunder his labors.	11 Non sia per lui chi l'aiuti, né sia chi de' suoi pupilli abbia pietà.
12 May there be no one to assist him, nor anyone to be compassionate to his orphaned children.	12 I figliuoli di lui siano sterminati: in una generazione sola resti cancellato il suo nome.
13 May his posterity be in utter ruin. In one generation, may his name be wiped away.	13 Torni in memoria dinanzi a Dio l'iniquità de' suoi padri, e il peccato di sua madre non sia cancellato.
14 May the iniquity of his fathers return in memory before the sight of the Lord, and do not let the sin of his mother be wiped away.	14 Siano (i loro peccati) sempre davanti al Signore, e sparisca dalla terra la memoria di loro: perché egli non si è ricordato di usare misericordia.
15 May these be opposite the Lord always, but let their memory perish from the earth.	15 E ha perseguitato un povero, e un mendico, e uno che aveva il cuore addolorato per metterlo a morte.
16 For certain things are not remembered about them, in order to be merciful.	16 E ha amato la maledizione, e gli verrà: e non ha voluto la benedizione, e sarà lontana da lui.
17 And so the destitute man was pursued, with the beggar and the remorseful in heart, so as to be put to death.	17 E si è rivestito della maledizione quasi di un vestimento, ed ella ha penetrato come acqua nelle sue interiora, e come olio, nelle sue ossa.
18 And he loved a curse, and it came to him. And he was unwilling to have a blessing, and it went far from him. And he clothed himself with curses like a garment, and it entered his inner self like water, and it entered his bones like oil.	18 Siagli come la veste, che lo ricopre, e come la cintola, con cui sempre si cinge.
19 May it be to him like a garment that covers him, and like a belt that always cinches him.	19 Questo è presso Dio il guadagno dì coloro, che mi nimicano, e macchinano sciagure contro l'anima mia.
20 This is the work of those who detract me with the Lord and who speak evils against my soul.	20 E tu, Signore, Signore, sta dalla parte mia per amor del tuo nome: imperocché soave ell'è la tua misericordia.
21 But as for you, Lord, O Lord: act on my behalf for your name’s sake. For your mercy is sweet.	21 Liberami, perché io son bisognoso e povero: e il mio cuore è turbato dentro di me.
22 Free me, for I am destitute and poor, and my heart has been disquieted within me.	22 Svanisco com' ombra, che va declinando, e mi agitano come si fa delle locuste.
23 I have been taken away like a shadow when it declines, and I have been shaken off like locusts.	23 Le mie ginocchia sono snervate per lo digiuno, ed è stenuata la mia carne priva di umore.
24 My knees have been weakened by fasting, and my flesh has been replaced by oil.	24 Ed io divenni il loro ludibrio: mi miravano, e scuotevano le loro teste.
25 And I have become a disgrace to them. They saw me, and they shook their heads.	25 Aiutami, Signore Dio mio: salvami secondo la tua misericordia.
26 Help me, O Lord, my God. Save me according to your mercy.	26 E sappiano, che in questo vi è la tua mano: e che questa cosa da te è fatta, o Signore.
27 And let them know that this is your hand, and that you, O Lord, have done this.	27 Eglino malediranno, e tu benedirai; quelli, che si levano contro di me siano svergognati: ma il tuo servo sarà nell'allegrezza.
28 They will curse, and you will bless. May those who rise up against me be confounded. But your servant will rejoice.	28 Siano coperti di rossore quelli, che mi nimicano: e siano rinvolti nella lor confusione come in un doppio mantello:
29 May those who detract me be clothed with shame, and may they be covered with their confusion, as if with a double cloak.	29 Celebrerò altamente colla mia bocca il Signore: e nella numerosa adunanza a lui darò lode.
30 I will confess exceedingly to the Lord with my mouth. And I will praise him in the midst of the multitude.	30 Perché égli si è messo alla destra del povero per salvar dai persecutori l'anima mia.
31 For he stands at the right hand of the poor, in order to save my soul from persecutors.
