1 The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.	1 Filhos (ou descendentes) de Judá foram: Farés, Hesron, Carmi, Hur e Sobal.
2 Truly, Reaiah, the son of Shobal, conceived Jahath; from him were born Ahumai and Lahad. These are the kindred of the Zorathites.	2 Raias, filho de Sobal, gerou Jaat, de quem nasceram Aumal e Laad. Estas são as famílias dos Saratitas.
3 And this is the stock of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash. And the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.	3 Estes são os descendentes do pai de Etão: Jezrael, .Joseina e Jedebos, que tiveram uma irmã chamada Asalelfuni.

10 Truly, Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “If only, when blessing, you will bless me, and will broaden my borders, and your hand will be with me, and you will cause me not to be oppressed by evil.” And God granted to him the things for which he prayed.	10 Jabes invocou o Deus de Israel, dizendo: Oh! Se tu me cumulasses de bênçãos e dilatasses os meus limites, se a tua mão fosse comigo, e não permitisses que eu fosse oprimido pela malícia!... E Deus concedeu-lhe o que ele pediu.
11 Now Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, conceived Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.	11 Caleb, irmão de Sua, gerou Maír, que foi pai de Eston.

16 Also, the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.	16 Os filhos de Jeleleel, foram: Zif, Zifa, Tiria e Asrael.
17 And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and he conceived Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.	17 Os filhos de Ezra foram: Jeter, Mered, Efer e Jalon. A mulher de Mered (a egípcia) deu à lua Myriam, Sammai, e Jesba, pai dos habitantes de Estamo.
18 And then his wife, Judaia, bore Jered, the father of Gedor, and Heber, the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. Now there were sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married,	18 (Outra) sua mulher, Odala, deu à luz Jared, pai de Gedor, e Heber, pai de Soco, e Icutiel, pai de Zanoe. Estes são os filhos de Betia, filha de Faraó, com a qual casou Mered.
19 and sons of his wife Hodiah, the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and of Eshtemoa, who was from Maacathi.	19 Os filhos de (sua) mulher Odala, irmã de Naão, pai de Ceila, foram: Garmi e Estamo, que era de Macati.
20 And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, son of Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Benzoheth.	20 Os filhos de Simão foram: Amnon, Binna, filho de Hanan, e Tilon. Os filhos de Jesi foram: Zoet e Benzoet.

38 These were the names of the leaders in their kindred. And they were multiplied greatly within the houses of their marriages.	38 Estes são os príncipes ilustres nas suas famílias, e multiplicaram-se em extremo as suas casas patriarcais.
39 And they set out, so that they might enter into Gedor, as far as the eastern valley, and so that they might seek pastures for their flocks.	39 (Por isso) saíram a fim de ocupar Gadôr até no oriente do vale, em busca de pastos para os seus gados.
40 And they found fat and very good pastures, and a very wide and quiet and fruitful land, in which some from the stock of Ham had lived before.	40 Encontraram pastagens abundantes e muito excelentes, e uma terra espaçosíssima, tranquila e fértil, onde antes tinham habitado os descendentes de Cam.
41 So then, those whose names have been written above, went forth in the days of Hezekiah, the king of Judah. And they struck down the inhabitants who had been found there with their dwellings. And they wiped them out, even to the present day. And they lived in place of them, because they found very fat pastures there.	41 Estes pois, que acima nomeamos, vieram no tempo de Ezequias, rei de Judá; deitaram abaixo as suas tendas, mataram os habitantes que ali encontraram, destruindo-os (assim) até ao dia de hoje; habitaram em lugar deles, porque encontraram abundantíssimos pastos.
42 Also, some of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went away to mount Seir, having as leaders Pelatiah and Neariah and Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.	42 Igualmente quinhentos homens dos filhos de Simeão passaram ao monte de Seir, tendo por chefes a Faltias, Naarias, Rafaias e Oziel, filhos de Jezl,
43 And they struck down the remnant of the Amalekites, those who had been able to escape, and they lived there in place of them, even to this day.	43 e acabaram com os restos dos Amalecitas, que tinham podido salvar-se, ficando a habitar ali, em seu lugar, até ao dia de hoje.
