1 Then all of Israel was gathered to David at Hebron, saying: “We are your bone and your flesh.	1 Τοτε συνηχθη πας ο Ισραηλ προς τον Δαβιδ εις Χεβρων, λεγοντες, Ιδου, οστουν σου και σαρξ σου ειμεθα.
2 Also, yesterday and the day before, when Saul still reigned, you were the one who led out and brought in Israel. For the Lord your God said to you: ‘You shall pasture my people Israel, and you shall be the leader over them.’ ”	2 Και προτερον ετι και οτε εβασιλευεν ο Σαουλ, συ ησο ο εξαγων και εισαγων τον Ισραηλ? και προς σε ειπε Κυριος ο Θεος σου, συ θελεις ποιμανει τον λαον μου τον Ισραηλ, και συ θελεις εισθαι ηγεμων επι τον λαον μου τον Ισραηλ.
3 Therefore, all those greater by birth of Israel went to the king at Hebron. And David formed a pact with them before the Lord. And they anointed him king over Israel, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he spoke by the hand of Samuel.	3 Και ηλθον παντες οι πρεσβυτεροι του Ισραηλ προς τον βασιλεα εις Χεβρων? και εκαμεν ο Δαβιδ συνθηκην μετ' αυτων εν Χεβρων ενωπιον του Κυριου? και εχρισαν τον Δαβιδ βασιλεα επι τον Ισραηλ, κατα τον λογον του Κυριου τον λαληθεντα δια του Σαμουηλ.
4 Then David and all of Israel went to Jerusalem. The same is Jebus, where the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were.	4 Και υπηγον ο Δαβιδ και πας ο Ισραηλ εις Ιερουσαλημ, ητις ειναι η Ιεβους, οπου ησαν οι Ιεβουσαιοι, οι κατοικουντες την γην.
5 And those who were living in Jebus said to David: “You shall not enter here.” But David seized the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.	5 Και οι κατοικοι της Ιεβους ειπον προς τον Δαβιδ, Δεν θελεις εισελθει ενταυθα. Αλλ' ο Δαβιδ εκυριευσε το φρουριον Σιων, ητις ειναι η πολις Δαβιδ.
6 And he said, “Whoever shall strike the Jebusites first, shall be ruler and commander.” And so Joab, the son of Zeruiah, ascended first, and he was made the leader.	6 Και ειπεν ο Δαβιδ, Οστις πρωτος παταξη τους Ιεβουσαιους, θελει εισθαι αρχηγος και στρατηγος. Πρωτος δε ανεβη ο Ιωαβ, ο υιος της Σερουιας, και εγεινεν αρχηγος.
7 Then David lived in the stronghold, and for this reason it was called the City of David.	7 Και κατωκησεν ο Δαβιδ εν τω φρουριω? οθεν ωνομασαν αυτην πολιν Δαβιδ.
8 And he built up the city all around, from Millo even to every side. But Joab built the rest of the city.	8 Και ωκοδομησε την πολιν κυκλοθεν απο Μιλλω και κυκλω? και επεσκευασεν ο Ιωαβ το επιλοιπον της πολεως.
9 And David continued advancing and increasing, and the Lord of hosts was with him.	9 Και προεχωρει ο Δαβιδ μεγαλυνομενος? και ο Κυριος των δυναμεων ητο μετ αυτου.
10 These are the leaders of the strong men of David, who assisted him, so that he would become king over all of Israel, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Israel.	10 Ουτοι δε ησαν οι αρχηγοι των ισχυρων, τους οποιους ειχεν ο Δαβιδ, οιτινες ηγωνισθησαν μετ' αυτου δια την βασιλειαν αυτου, μετα παντος του Ισραηλ, δια να καμωσιν αυτον βασιλεα, κατα τον λογον του Κυριου τον περι του Ισραηλ.
11 And this is the number of the robust of David: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, leader among the thirty. He lifted up his spear over three hundred, who were wounded at one time.	11 Και ουτος ειναι ο αριθμος των ισχυρων τους οποιους ειχεν ο Δαβιδ? Ιασωβεαμ ο υιος του Αχμονι, πρωτος των οπλαρχηγων? ουτος σειων την λογχην αυτου εναντιον τριακοσιων, εθανατωσεν αυτους εν μια μαχη.
12 And after him, there was Eleazar, the son of his uncle, an Ahohite, who was among the three powerful ones.	12 Και μετ' αυτον Ελεαζαρ ο υιος του Δωδω? ο Αχωχιτης, οστις ητο εις εκ των τριων ισχυρων.
13 He was with David in Pasdammim, when the Philistines were gathered to that place for battle. Now the field of that region was full of barley, but the people had fled from the face of the Philistines.	13 Ουτος ητο μετα του Δαβιδ εν Φασ-δαμμειμ, και οι Φιλισταιοι συνηθροισθησαν εκει δια πολεμον, οπου ητο μεριδιον αγρου πληρες κριθης? ο δε λαος εφυγεν απο προσωπου των Φιλισταιων.
14 These men stood in the midst of the field, and they defended it. And when they had struck down the Philistines, the Lord gave a great salvation to his people.	14 Και ουτοι εστηλωθησαν εν τω μεσω του μεριδιου και ηλευθερωσαν αυτο και επαταξαν τους Φιλισταιους? και ο Κυριος εκαμε σωτηριαν μεγαλην.
15 Then three from the thirty leaders descended to the rock where David was, to the cave of Adullam, when the Philistines had made camp in the Valley of the Rephaim.	15 Κατεβησαν ετι τρεις εκ των τριακοντα αρχηγων εις την πετραν προς τον Δαβιδ, εις το σπηλαιον Οδολλαμ? το δε στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων εστρατοπεδευεν εν τη κοιλαδι Ραφαειμ.
16 Now David was in a stronghold, and a garrison of the Philistines was in Bethlehem.	16 Και ο Δαβιδ ητο τοτε εν τω οχυρωματι και η φρουρα των Φιλισταιων τοτε ο εν Βηθλεεμ.
17 And then David desired and said, “O if only someone would give me water from the well of Bethlehem, which is at the gate!”	17 Και επεποθησεν ο Δαβιδ υδωρ και ειπε, Τις ηθελε μοι δωσει να πιω υδωρ εκ του φρεατος της Βηθλεεμ, του εν τη πυλη;
18 Therefore, these three broke through to the midst of the camp of the Philistines, and they drew water from the well of Bethlehem, which was at the gate. And they took it to David, so that he might drink. But he was not willing; and instead, he offered it as a libation to the Lord,	18 Και οι τρεις διασχισαντες το στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων, ηντλησαν υδωρ εκ του φρεατος της Βηθλεεμ του εν τη πυλη, και λαβοντες εφεραν προς τον Δαβιδ? πλην ο Δαβιδ δεν ηθελησε να πιη αυτο, αλλ' εκαμεν αυτο σπονδην εις τον Κυριον,
19 saying: “Far be it from me, that I would do this in the sight of my God, and that I would drink the blood of these men. For at the peril of their own lives, they brought the water to me.” And for this reason, he was not willing to drink. The three most powerful accomplished these things.	19 λεγων, Μη γενοιτο εις εμε παρα του Θεου μου να καμω τουτο? θελω πιει το αιμα των ανδρων τουτων, οιτινες εξεθεσαν την ζωην αυτων εις κινδυνον; διοτι μετα κινδυνου της ζωης αυτων εφεραν αυτο. Δια τουτο δεν ηθελησε να πιη αυτο? ταυτα εκαμον οι τρεις ισχυροι.
20 Also, Abishai, the brother of Joab, was the leader of the three, and he lifted up his spear against three hundred, who were wounded. And he was most renown among the three,	20 Και Αβισαι ο αδελφος του Ιωαβ, ουτος ητο πρωτος των τριων? και ουτος σειων την λογχην αυτου εναντιον τριακοσιων, εθανατωσεν αυτους και απεκτησεν ονομα μεταξυ των τριων.
21 and he was famous among the second three and their leader. Yet truly, he did not reach as far as the first three.	21 Εκ των τριων, ητο ενδοξοτερος υπερ τους δυο και εγεινεν αρχηγος αυτων? δεν εφθασεν ομως μεχρι των τριων πρωτων.
22 Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, from Kabzeel, was a very mature man, who had accomplished many deeds. He struck down the two lions of God from Moab. And he descended and killed a lion in the middle of a pit, in the time of snow.	22 Βεναιας ο υιος του Ιωδαε, ο υιος ανδρος δυνατου απο Καβσεηλ, οστις εκαμε πολλα ανδραγαθηματα, ουτος επαταξε τους δυο λεοντωδεις ανδρας του Μωαβ? ουτος ετι κατεβη και επαταξε λεοντα εν μεσω του λακκου εν ημερα χιονος?
23 And he struck down an Egyptian man, whose stature was five cubits, and who had a spear like a weaver’s beam. And yet he descended to him with a staff. And he seized the spear that he was holding in his hand. And he killed him with his own spear.	23 ουτος ετι επαταξε τον ανδρα τον Αιγυπτιον, ανδρα μεγαλου αναστηματος, πενταπηχον? και εν τη χειρι του Αιγυπτιου ητο λογχη ως αντιον υφαντου? κατεβη δε προς αυτον με ραβδον, και αρπασας την λογχην εκ της χειρος του Αιγυπτιου εθανατωσεν αυτον δια της ιδιας αυτου λογχης?
24 These things were done by Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, who was most renowned among the three robust ones,	24 ταυτα εκαμε Βεναιας ο υιος του Ιωδαε, και απεκτησεν ονομα μεταξυ των τριων ισχυρων?
25 the first among the thirty. Yet truly, he did not reach as far as the three. Then David placed him beside his ear.	25 ιδου, αυτος εσταθη ενδοξοτερος των τριακοντα, δεν εφθασεν ομως μεχρι των τριων πρωτων? και κατεστησεν αυτον ο Δαβιδ επι των δορυφορων αυτου.
26 Moreover, the strongest men of the army were Asahel, the brother of Joab; and Elhanan, the son of his uncle, from Bethlehem;	26 Και οι ισχυροι των στρατευματων ησαν Ασαηλ ο αδελφος του Ιωαβ, Ελχαναν ο υιος του Δωδω εκ της Βηθλεεμ,
27 Shammoth, a Harorite; Helez, a Pelonite;	27 Σαμμωθ ο Αρουριτης, Χελης ο Φελωνιτης,
28 Ira, the son of Ikkesh, a Tekoite; Abiezer, an Anathothite;	28 Ιρας ο υιος του Ικκης ο Θεκωιτης, Αβιεζερ ο Αναθωθιτης,
29 Sibbecai, a Hushathite; Ilai, an Ahohite;	29 Σιββεχαι ο Χουσαθιτης, Ιλαι ο Αχωχιτης,
30 Maharai, a Netophathite; Heled, the son of Baanah, a Netophathite;	30 Μααραι ο Νετωφαθιτης, Χελεδ ο υιος του Βαανα Νετωφαθιτης,
31 Ithai, the son of Ribai, from Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin; Benaiah, a Pirathonite;	31 Ιτθαι ο υιος του Ριβαι εκ της Γαβαα των υιων Βενιαμιν, Βεναιας ο Πιραθωνιτης,
32 Hurai, from the torrent Gaash; Abiel, an Arbathite; Azmaveth, a Baharumite; Eliahba, a Shaalbonite.	32 Ουραι εκ των κοιλαδων Γαας, Αβιηλ ο Αρβαθιτης,
33 The sons of Hashem, a Gizonite: Jonathan, the son of Shagee, a Hararite;	33 Αζμαβεθ ο Βααρουμιτης, Ελιαβα ο Σααλβωνιτης,
34 Ahiam, the son of Sachar, a Hararite;	34 οι υιοι του Ασημ του Γιζονιτου, Ιωναθαν ο υιος του Σαγη ο Αραριτης,
35 Eliphal, the son of Ur;	35 Αχιαμ υιος του Σαχαρ ο Αραριτης, Ελιφαλ υιος του Ουρ,
36 Hepher, a Mecherathite; Ahijah, a Pelonite;	36 Εφερ ο Μεχηραθιτης, Αχια ο Φελωνιτης,
37 Hezro, a Carmelite; Naharai, the son of Ezbai;	37 Εσρω ο Καρμηλιτης, Νααραι ο υιος του Εσβαι,

39 Zelek, an Ammonite; Naarai, a Beerothite, the armor bearer of Joab, the son of Zeruiah;	39 Σελεκ ο Αμμωνιτης, Νααραι ο Βηρωθαιος, ο οπλοφορος του Ιωαβ υιου της Σερουιας,
40 Ira, an Ithrite; Gareb, an Ithrite;	40 Ιρας ο Ιεθριτης, Γαρηβ Ιεθριτης,
41 Uriah, a Hittite; Zabad, the son of Ahlai;	41 Ουριας ο Χετταιος, Ζαβαδ ο υιος του Ααλαι,
42 Adina, the son of Shiza, a Reubenite, the leader of the Reubenites, and thirty who were with him;	42 Αδινα ο υιος του Σιζα του Ρουβηνιτου, αρχων των Ρουβηνιτων, και τριακοντα μετ' αυτου,
43 Hanan, the son of Maacah; and Joshaphat, a Mithnite;	43 Αναν ο υιος του Μααχα και Ιωσαφατ ο Μιθνιτης,
44 Uzzia, an Ashterathite; Shama and Jeiel, the sons of Hotham, an Aroerite;	44 Οζιας ο Αστερωθιτης, Σαμα και Ιεχιηλ οι υιοι του Χωθαν του Αροηριτου,
45 Jediael, the son of Shimri; and Joha, his brother, a Tizite;	45 Ιεδιαηλ ο υιος του Σιμρι και Ιωχα αδελφος αυτου ο Θισιτης,
46 Eliel, a Mahavite; and Jeribai and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam; and Ithmah, a Moabite; Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel from Mezobaite.	46 Ελιηλ ο Μααβιτης και Ιεριβαι και Ιωσαυια, οι υιοι του Ελνααμ, και Ιεθεμα ο Μωαβιτης,
