1 And David said, “Do you think that there could be anyone left from the house of Saul, so that I might show mercy to him because of Jonathan?”	1 David dit alors : N'est-il pas resté quelqu'un de la maison de Saül, à qui je puisse faire du bien à cause de Jonathas?
2 Now there was, from the house of Saul, a servant named Ziba. And when the king had called him to himself, he said to him, “Are you not Ziba?” And he responded, “I am your servant.”	2 Or il y avait un serviteur de la maison de Saül, qui s'appelait Siba. Et le roi l'ayant fait venir, lui dit : Etes-vous Siba? Il lui répondit : Je le suis, pour vous obéir.
3 And the king said, “Could there be anyone alive from the house of Saul, so that I may show the mercy of God to him?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is left alive a son of Jonathan, with disabled feet.”	3 Le roi lui dit : Est-il resté quelqu'un de la maison de Saül, que je puisse combler de grâces? Siba dit au roi : Il reste encore un fils de Jonathas, qui est perclus des pieds.
4 “Where is he?” he said. And Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.”	4 Où est-il? dit David. Il est, dit Siba, à Lodabar, dans la maison de Machir, fils d'Ammiel.
5 Therefore, king David sent and brought him from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.	5 Le roi David l'envoya donc chercher à Lodabar, dans la maison de Machir, fils d'Ammiel.
6 And when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell upon his face, and he reverenced. And David said, “Mephibosheth?” And he responded, “Your servant is here.”	6 Et lorsque Miphiboseth, fils de Jonathas, fils de Saül, fut venu devant David, il se prosterna le visage contre terre. David lui dit : Miphiboseth? Il lui répondit : Me voici, pour vous obéir.
7 And David said to him: “Do not be afraid. For I will certainly show mercy to you because of your father Jonathan. And I will restore to you all the fields of your father Saul. And you shall eat bread at my table always.”	7 David lui dit : Ne craignez point, car je veux vous faire du bien, à cause de Jonathas, votre père. Je vous rendrai toutes les terres de Saül, votre aïeul, et vous mangerez toujours à ma table.
8 And reverencing him, he said, “Who am I, your servant, that you should look with favor upon a dead dog like me?”	8 Miphiboseth, se prosternant devant lui, lui dit : Qui suis-je, moi votre serviteur, pour avoir mérité que vous regardiez un chien mort tel que je suis?
9 And so, the king called Ziba, the servant of Saul, and he said to him: “Everything whatsoever that belonged to Saul, and his entire house, I have given to the son of your lord.	9 Le roi fit donc venir Siba, serviteur de Saül, et lui dit : J'ai donné au fils de votre maître tout ce qui était à Saül, et toute sa maison.
10 And so, work the land for him, you and your sons and your servants. And you shall bring in food for the son of your lord, for nourishment. And Mephibosheth, the son of your lord, shall always eat bread at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.	10 Faites donc valoir ses terres pour lui, vous et vos fils et vos serviteurs, afin que le fils de votre maître ait de quoi subsister; mais Miphiboseth, fils de votre maître, mangera toujours à ma table. Or Siba avait quinze fils et vingt serviteurs.
11 And Ziba said to the king: “Just as my lord has ordered your servant, so will your servant do. And Mephibosheth shall eat at my table, like one of the sons of the king.”	11 Et il dit au roi : Monseigneur le roi, votre serviteur fera comme vous lui avez commandé. Et Miphiboseth mangera à ma table comme l'un des enfants du roi.
12 Now Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mica. Truly, all the kindred of the house of Ziba served Mephibosheth.	12 Or Miphiboseth avait un fils encore enfant, appelé Micha. Et toute la famille de Siba servait Miphiboseth.
13 But Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem. For he was fed always from the table of the king. And he was lame in both feet.	13 Or Miphiboseth demeurait à Jérusalem, parce qu'il mangeait toujours à la table du roi; et il était boiteux des deux jambes.
