1 While these things were going on, it happened that two eunuchs, the cupbearer of the king of Egypt, and the miller of grain, offended their lord.	1 Depois disto, aconteceu que dois eunucos, o copeiro do rei do Egito e o padeiro, pecaram contra o seu senhor.
2 And Pharaoh, being angry with them, (now the one was in charge of the cupbearers, the other of the millers of grain)	2 Faraó, irado contra eles (um era chefe dos copeiros, e outro dos padeiros)
3 sent them to the prison of the leader of the military, in which Joseph also was a prisoner.	3 mandou-os meter no cárcere do chefe da guarda, no qual estava também preso José.
4 But the keeper of the prison delivered them to Joseph, who ministered to them also. Some little time passed by, while they were held in custody.	4 O guarda do cárcere entregou-os a José que também os servia. Estiveram um certo tempo, ali, encarcerados.
5 And they both saw a similar dream on one night, whose interpretations should be related to one another.	5 Ambos, numa noite, tiveram um sonho, que, por sua interpretação, se referia a eles.
6 And when Joseph had entered to them in the morning, and had seen them sad,	6 Tendo ido José junto deles, pela manhã, e vendo-os tristes,
7 he consulted them, saying, “Why is your expression sadder today than usual?”	7 interrogou-os: Por que razão está hoje o vosso semblante mais triste que de costume?
8 They responded, “We have seen a dream, and there is no one to interpret it for us.” And Joseph said to them, “Doesn’t interpretation belong to God? Recount for me what you have seen.”	8 Eles responderam: Tivemos um sonho, e não há quem no-lo interprete. José disse-lhes: Porventura não pertence a Deus a interpretação? Contai-me o que vistes.
9 The chief cupbearer explained his dream first. “I saw before me a vine,	9 O copeiro-mor foi o primeiro que contou o seu sonho: Eu via diante de mim uma cepa,
10 on which were three shoots, which grew little by little into buds, and, after the flowers, it matured into grapes.	10 na qual havia três varas, crescer pouco a pouco em gomos, e, depois das flores, amadurecerem as uvas.
11 And the cup of Pharaoh was in my hand. Therefore, I took the grapes, and I pressed them into the cup that I held, and I handed the cup to Pharaoh.”	11 (Eu tinha) a taça de Faraó na minha mão; tomei as uvas, espremi-as na taça, que tinha na mão, e apresentei de beber a Faraó.
12 Joseph responded: “This is the interpretation of the dream. The three shoots are the next three days,	12 José respondeu: A interpretação do sonho é esta: As três varas são três dias ainda (que aqui estarás),
13 after which Pharaoh will remember your service, and he will restore you to your former position. And you will give him the cup according to your office, as you were accustomed to do before.	13 depois dos quais se lembrará Faraó dos teus serviços e te restituirá ao antigo cargo: tu lhe apresentarás a taça conforme o teu oficio, como costumavas fazer antes.
14 Only remember me, when it will be well with you, and do me this mercy, to suggest to Pharaoh to lead me out of this prison.	14 Sòmente lembra-te de mim e usa para comigo de compaixão, quando fores feliz; solicita a Faraó que me tire deste cárcere,
15 For I have been stolen from the land of the Hebrews, and here, innocently, I was cast into the pit.”	15 porque, por fraude, fui tirado da terra dos Hebreus, e, estando inocente, fui lançado nesta prisão.
16 The chief miller of grain, seeing that he had wisely unraveled the dream, said: “I also saw a dream: that I had three baskets of meal above my head,	16 Vendo o padeiro-mor que (José) tinha interpretado sabiamente o sonho, disse: Também eu tive um sonho: (parecia-me) ter três cestos de farinha sobre a minha cabeça,
17 and in one basket, which was the highest, I carried all foods that are made by the art of baking, and the birds ate from it.”	17 e que, no cesto que estava mais alto, levava todos os manjares, que a arte de padeiro pode preparar, e que as aves comiam dele.
18 Joseph responded: “This is the interpretation of the dream. The three baskets are the next three days,	18 José respondeu: A interpretação do sonho é esta: Os três cestos são três dias ainda (que te restam),
19 after which Pharaoh will carry away your head, and also suspend you from a cross, and the birds will tear your flesh.”	19 depois dos quais Faraó mandará tirar-te a cabeça, te suspenderá em uma forca, e as aves devorarão as tuas carnes.
20 The third day thereafter was the birthday of Pharaoh. And making a great feast for his servants, he remembered, during the banquet, the chief cupbearer and the chief miller of grain.	20 (Com efeito) três dias depois, era o dia do nascimento de Faraó, o qual, dando um grande banquete aos seus criados, se lembrou à mesa do copeiro-mór e do padeiro-mór.
21 And he restored the one to his place, to present him the cup;	21 Restituiu um ao seu lugar, para lhe ministrar a taça,
22 the other he hanged on a gallows, and thus the truth of the interpreter of dreams was proven.	22 e mandou suspender o outro num patíbulo, pelo que foi comprovada a verdade do intérprete.
23 And although he advanced with so much prosperity, the chief cupbearer forgot his interpreter of dreams.	23 Não obstante sucederem-lhe prôsperamente as coisas, o copeiro-mór esqueceu-se do seu intérprete.
