1 Later on, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples. It was by the Sea of Tiberias, and it happenedlike this:	1 After this, Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. And he manifested himself in this way.
2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee and twomore of his disciples were together.	2 These were together: Simon Peter and Thomas, who is called the Twin, and Nathanael, who was from Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.
3 Simon Peter said, 'I'm going fishing.' They replied, 'We'l come with you.' They went out and got intothe boat but caught nothing that night.	3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “And we are going with you.” And they went and climbed into the ship. And in that night, they caught nothing.
4 When it was already light, there stood Jesus on the shore, though the disciples did not realise that itwas Jesus.	4 But when morning arrived, Jesus stood on the shore. Yet the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.
5 Jesus cal ed out, 'Haven't you caught anything, friends?' And when they answered, 'No,'	5 Then Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any food?” They answered him, “No.”
6 he said, 'Throw the net out to starboard and you'l find something.' So they threw the net out and couldnot haul it in because of the quantity of fish.	6 He said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the ship, and you will find some.” Therefore, they cast it out, and then they were not able to draw it in, because of the multitude of fish.
7 The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, 'It is the Lord.' At these words, 'It is the Lord,' SimonPeter tied his outer garment round him (for he had nothing on) and jumped into the water.	7 Therefore, the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord.” Simon Peter, when he had heard that it was the Lord, wrapped his tunic around himself, (for he was naked) and he cast himself into the sea.
8 The other disciples came on in the boat, towing the net with the fish; they were only about a hundredyards from land.	8 Then the other disciples arrived in a boat, (for they were not far from the land, only about two hundred cubits) dragging the net with the fish.
9 As soon as they came ashore they saw that there was some bread there and a charcoal fire with fishcooking on it.	9 Then, when they climbed down to the land they saw burning coals prepared, and fish already placed above them, and bread.
10 Jesus said, 'Bring some of the fish you have just caught.'	10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just now caught.”
11 Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore, full of big fish, one hundred and fifty-three ofthem; and in spite of there being so many the net was not broken.	11 Simon Peter climbed up and drew in the net to land: full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn.
12 Jesus said to them, 'Come and have breakfast.' None of the disciples was bold enough to ask, 'Whoare you?'. They knew quite well it was the Lord.	12 Jesus said to them, “Approach and dine.” And not one of them sitting down to eat dared to ask him, “Who are you?” For they knew that it was the Lord.
13 Jesus then stepped forward, took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish.	13 And Jesus approached, and he took bread, and he gave it to them, and similarly with the fish.
14 This was the third time that Jesus revealed himself to the disciples after rising from the dead.	14 This was now the third time that Jesus was manifested to his disciples, after he had resurrected from the dead.
15 When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon son of John, do you love me more thanthese others do?' He answered, 'Yes, Lord, you know I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed my lambs.'	15 Then, when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
16 A second time he said to him, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' He replied, 'Yes, Lord, you knowI love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Look after my sheep.'	16 He said to him again: “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
17 Then he said to him a third time, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' Peter was hurt that he askedhim a third time, 'Do you love me?' and said, 'Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.' Jesus said to him,'Feed my sheep.	17 He said to him a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was very grieved that he had asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” And so he said to him: “Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my sheep.
18 In all truth I tell you, when you were young you put on your own belt and walked where you liked; butwhen you grow old you wil stretch out your hands, and somebody else wil put a belt round you and take youwhere you would rather not go.'	18 Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked wherever you wanted. But when you are older, you will extend your hands, and another shall gird you and lead you where you do not want to go.”
19 In these words he indicated the kind of death by which Peter would give glory to God. After this hesaid, 'Fol ow me.'	19 Now he said this to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when he had said this, he said to him, “Follow me.”
20 Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved fol owing them -- the one who had leant backclose to his chest at the supper and had said to him, 'Lord, who is it that will betray you?'	20 Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, the one who also had leaned on his chest at supper and said, “Lord, who is it who shall betray you?”
21 Seeing him, Peter said to Jesus, 'What about him, Lord?'	21 Therefore, when Peter had seen him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, but what about this one?”
22 Jesus answered, 'If I want him to stay behind till I come, what does it matter to you? You are to followme.'	22 Jesus said to him: “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow me.”
23 The rumour then went out among the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus had not saidto Peter, 'He wil not die,' but, 'If I want him to stay behind til I come.'	23 Therefore, the saying went out among the brothers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you?”
24 This disciple is the one who vouches for these things and has written them down, and we know thathis testimony is true.	24 This is the same disciple who offers testimony about these things, and who has written these things. And we know that his testimony is true.
25 There was much else that Jesus did; if it were written down in detail, I do not suppose the world itselfwould hold al the books that would be written.	25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if each of these were written down, the world itself, I suppose, would not be able to contain the books that would be written.
