1 How wretched I am, a harvester in summer time, like a gleaner at the vintage: not a single cluster to eat,none of those early figs I love!	1 - Sventurato me! Sono come chi d'autunno raccoglie i raspoli dopo la vendemmia; non c'è più un grappolo da mangiare, un fico precoce che tanto desiderava l'anima mia!
2 The faithful have vanished from the land: there is no one honest left. Al of them are on the alert forblood, every man hunting his brother with a net.	2 L'uomo santo è scomparso dalla terra, una persona onesta non c'è più tra gli uomini; tutti sono impigliati in delitti di sangue, si cercano a morte gli uni gli altri.
3 Their hands are adept at wrong-doing: the official makes his demands, the judge gives judgement for abribe, the man in power pronounces as he pleases.	3 Il male che fanno colle loro mani lo dicon bene; il magistrato esige: il giudice fa a seconda ch'è retribuito; il magnate parla come lo indetta la passione dell'anima sua, e intralciano ogni cosa.
4 The best of them is like a briar, the most honest of them like a thorn-hedge. Now from the north theirpunishment approaches! That wil be when they are confounded!	4 Il migliore di essi è come un pruno, il più diritto come lo spino di una siepe. Ma il giorno della segnalazione, la tua visita viene; allora sarà finita per loro.
5 Trust no neighbour, put no confidence in a friend; do not open your mouth to the wife who shares yourbed.	5 Non vogliate credere all'amico; non fidatevi di chi vi guida; con colei che dorme sul tuo seno, guarda bene prima d'aprire la bocca;
6 For son insults father, daughter rebels against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law; aperson's enemies come from within the household itself.	6 il figlio si ribella al padre e la figlia insorge contro la madre; la nuora contro la suocera e l'uomo ha, nei suoi familiari, altrettanti nemici».
7 But I shall look to Yahweh, my hope is in the God who will save me; my God will hear me.	7 «Ma io alzerò lo sguardo al Signore, aspetterò Dio mio salvatore, il mio Dio mi esaudirà.
8 Do not gloat over me, my enemy: though I have fal en, I shal rise; though I live in darkness, Yahweh ismy light.	8 O mia nemica, non ti rallegrare di me se sono caduta, perchè risorgerò: quando starò assisa nell'oscurità, il Signore è mia luce.
9 I must endure Yahweh's anger for I have sinned against him, until he takes up my cause and rights mywrongs; he wil bring me out into the light, and then I shal contemplate his saving justice.	9 Sopporterò l'ira del Signore, perchè l'ho offeso, finchè giudichi la mia causa e mi faccia ragione; egli mi farà uscire alla luce e vedrò la sua giustizia.
10 When my enemy sees this, she wil be covered with shame, having sneered, 'Where is Yahweh yourGod?' This time, I shall be watching as she is trampled underfoot like mud in the streets.	10 Lo vedrà la mia nemica e resterà coperta di confusione, essa che dice a me: - Dov'è il Signore Dio tuo? - I miei occhi la contempleranno, essa verrà allora calpestata, come il fango delle piazze!
11 That wil be the day for rebuilding your walls! The day for expanding your frontiers!	11 Verrà giorno in cui saranno rifabbricate le tue rovine; in quel giorno sarà abrogata la legge contro di te.
12 The day when others come to you al the way from Assyria, from Egypt, from Tyre and al the way fromthe Euphrates, from sea to sea, from the mountains to the mountains!	12 In quel giorno, a te dall'Assiria e alle città murate, e dalle città murate al Fiume, e da mare a mare, e da monte a monte, si andrà e si verrà.
13 The earth wil become a desert by reason of its inhabitants, in return for what they have done.	13 La terra sarà tutta in abbandono a causa dei suoi abitanti, chè tale frutto hanno ricavato dalle loro azioni.
14 With shepherd's crook lead your people to pasture, the flock that is your heritage, living confined in aforest with meadow land al round. Let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old!	14 Conduci al pascolo il tuo popolo col tuo vincastro, le pecore della tua eredità, soli abitatori in mezzo al bosco del Carmelo; usciranno alla pastura in Basan e in Galaad, come ai tempi antichi.
15 As in the days when you came out of Egypt, grant us to see wonders!	15 Io ti farò vedere prodigi, come nei giorni della tua uscita dall'Egitto.
16 The nations wil see and be confounded in spite of al their power; they wil put their hands over theirmouths, their ears wil be deafened.	16 Le genti vedranno e resteranno confuse di tutta la loro prepotenza; staranno con la mano alla bocca e avranno le orecchie assordate.
17 They wil lick the dust like snakes, like reptiles that crawl on the earth. They wil creep trembling out oftheir lairs, in terror before you.	17 Come serpenti lambiranno la polvere, come rettili si rimpiatteranno tremanti nelle loro dimore, avranno paura del Signore Dio vostro, timore di te.
18 What god can compare with you for pardoning guilt and for overlooking crime? He does not harbouranger for ever, since he delights in showing faithful love.	18 Qual Dio è simile a te, che togli l'iniquità e passi sopra il peccato di quei che sono rimasti della tua eredità? Egli non lascerà più libero corso al suo sdegno, perchè è amante della misericordia.
19 Once more have pity on us, tread down our faults; throw al our sins to the bottom of the sea.	19 Egli si rivolgerà e avrà pietà di noi, abrogherà le nostre iniquità e getterà nel profondo del mare tutti i nostri peccati.
20 Grant Jacob your faithfulness, and Abraham your faithful love, as you swore to our ancestors from thedays of long ago.	20 Starai garante a Giacobbe della verità e ad Abramo della misericordia che hai giurato ai nostri padri dai tempi antichi».
